Several kilometers from Lily’s hut— no, Lily and Lapis’s hut. There the behemoth— Rindbloom’s living cavern was located.

Behemoth (Seven Thunder Beast).

In a world where magic and legendary beasts shouldn’t exist, it is a superior mythical beast that releases a particular distinctiveness.

It looks like the combination then split between a wolf and bear, with a single horn growing from its head. Its entire body is covered in a pure black fur and with powerful legs, it has the potential to bipedal.

Boasting a body that will grow past 10 meters as an adult, from the black horn growing from its head, it releases lightning.

It was a tyrant that would rein if it wasn’t restrained.

The only relief was that the population was scarce. At present, there should only be 7 confirmed beings. And one of them is there, in the forest of the Alexandrite Kingdom.

She— Rindbloom is still a youthful being at only 5000 years old, but, as the strongest being, the behemoth acted self-indulgently.

However, she isn’t the slightest bit arrogant, since she knew that there is always someone above.

Going back around 200 years.

The other day, Rindbloom purged the strongest behemoth and, both in name and substance, became ruler.

In those days, she was rough.

Even the previous behemoth was defeated before Rindbloom could use her full strength. Having exceeded her own strength, Rindbloom thought that only the 4 Dragon Kings that concealed their breath across the world would pose a serious threat.

Whatever atrocious beast —with a glare it would run away, whatever sturdy military force would instantaneously stampede.

She was prideful, then, it was reasonable that she became irritatingly bored.

She was continuously the strongest, but she did mind being attacked whenever and wherever. Even the behemoth was a living being. She needed to sleep and eat. At those times, when the armed forces attacked, it wouldn’t result in a loss, but maybe some minor scratches. More than anything, it was troublesome.

For that reason, she travelled around the world wishing for a quiet location.

Then, she finally arrived at the illusional forest near Alexandrite Kingdom.

The kingdom’s soldiers would look from afar, but since they didn’t make any actions, she felt liberated.

Nearby, there weren’t any other Dragon Kings, behemoths, or other mythical beasts. There was also no inconvenience for food. Whether the kingdom’s soldiers were a problem or not, they were, but, with a light threat, they’d withdraw. Thinking that, she went to search for a place to sleep.

After a bit of searching, she found a nice-looking location. A river was close, and it was open. In addition, for some reason, nearby, the heat couldn’t be felt.

She decided, let’s set it here. However, there was a single hinderance of a hut.

Let’s destroy it in a single breath, so she raised her right arm and thrust it at the hut—

「I’ll be troubled, if you do such a thing.」

She should’ve hit. However, the right arm didn’t reach the hut, as though a thin layer of air was protecting the hut. No matter how much pressure she applied, she couldn’t destroy the layer.

「Ara? Isn’t that the behemoth. How unusual.」

From the hut, someone came out.

It was a woman that looked like she was messing around.

Long, blonde hair that reached until the back of her knees. She wore black clothes, and on her head was a hat like a witch’s.

「Grauu!」

The previous weird phenomenon seemed to have been caused by this woman, realizing this, the behemoth went to bite the woman.

But, even to that, the air barrier didn’t budge.

「Perhaps, you, are you selling me a fight?」

To the words filled with anger, the behemoth retreated 20 meters. It was instinct, but alarm bells were going off saying that this woman was dangerous.

It was a long time since she had tasted it, the feeling of fear.

The woman showed no signs of pursuing. In the first place, she didn’t even attack once. Along with that, she proudly considered herself strong, but, the two characters of ‘escape’ were robbed from the behemoth.

She focused power into her horn. The woman didn’t move.

In the behemoth’s inner thoughts, she sneered with a laugh, then released the lightning.

She thought she won.

However, the next moment, she witnessed.

With a casual wave of her hand, the woman dispersed the behemoth’s lightning.

「…feisty, huh.」

—Gulp—

Words filled with even more anger than before.

Reacting, all the fur on her body stood up.

A fight was sold to the wrong enemy. That was a person that a hand should never be raised against.

Several regrets that came to mind vanished.

Even though her brain was raising many warnings, her body wouldn’t move at all. Her limbs had perfectly frozen up in fear.

Holding her hand in the space above her head, a strange light painted a circle. Then, from it, rushed several hundreds of thousands of lightning at the behemoth.

The individual power of each shot far exceeded the behemoth’s power. That was several thousand.

The behemoth was fully prepared for death.

Opening the eyes that she had before long closed, she was still alive.

Reflexively checking the surroundings, aside from the ground she was standing on, the entirety was burned and carbonized.

It was a display in the difference in rank.

「I’m willing to overlook this, I don’t have any interest in a small fry.」

The woman calmly stood there.

The behemoth didn’t understand the meaning behind those words, but she understood that she understood that she had barely escaped death.

She looked at the woman’s eyes.

Feeling that she wasn’t seen as a threat, she had eyes as though looking at a stone on the roadside.

Having seen the plain differences in their fighting strength, her pride was torn to shreds.

However, simultaneously, she felt a strange emotional uplift.

She had lost for the first time in her life.

Overwhelmingly, at that.

Embracing the fear, at the same time, she felt a sense of respect.

As though noticing, the woman faced forward, while the behemoth showed its belly. Commonly said, it is a submission pose.

「Submission… I wonder if it is okay for you」

Relieved that the angry tone had disappeared, she released a small cry. The woman approached her and began to stroke her stomach.

「Kuru, kuru」

「Fufu, quite cute, aren’t you. You, would you become my pet?」

Replying to the woman that asked something, the behemoth responded with a Kuru. She didn’t know what was being asked, but she was sure that it wouldn’t be anything bad.

「Is that so. Then, I need to give you a name. Hm—, between Geregere and Tonnura, which do you prefer?」

「Guru!?」

Somehow, it seemed that she’d be given a strange name, so she hurriedly protested.

「Y-you don’t like it? I thought they were good names. Hm—, then, what do you think about Rindbloom?」

「Kuru♪」

「Ah, it seems that you like it. Okay, then you’re Rindbloom. I look forward to working with you, Rin-chan♪」

The behemoth— Rindbloom became the woman’s— Lily’s pet.

Because of her loss, her rough life until then turned around, and she would never forget for the rest of her life.

(TL note: The term ‘Behemoth’ is written as 漆雷獣(ベヒーモス), meaning ‘seven lightning beast’ (maybe) and Rindbloom’s name is リンドブルム. If there are any better name recommendations or mistakes, please feel free to let me know.)
