Chapter 3

Bo Ye flicked the water off his hands and after he came out of the toilet, he saw that everyone was staring at him as if they had seen a ghost.

He looked behind him but there was nothing so he felt that it was ridiculous, “What’s wrong?”

After confirming the identity of the other person, everyone simultaneously heaved a sigh of relief.

At this time, all the lights in the hallway went off, leaving only the glowing green light of the safety lamp on the wall.

There was an uproar in the crowd.

“This……this, why are the lights not on?”

“Did the school forget to pay for the electricity bill? How about going to the first floor to take a look?”

“I think that works.” The hot-tempered brother turned around to leave but when he arrived at the emergency exit, he couldn’t open the door, “F*ck! The door is stuck!”

“……”

This time, all of the players panicked.

There was the sound of the electric current circulating through the incandescent light tubes and the lights turned on again but it was dimmer than before.

“Ah!”

Qin Jingjing let out a curt scream and then covered her mouth firmly.

The restless crowd just sank into a deadly silence.

Their voices seemed to be choked by a formless hand within their throats. Everyone could only hear the sound of their own vigorous and chaotic heartbeat. It was as if their feet had grown roots.

They saw that at the end of the hallway, two people stood there hand in hand.

Bo Ye’s right hand held the hand of a female student with a petite figure.

The female student had straight long hair. If they didn’t see her shoes pointing to the front, everyone could have easily thought that what they saw was in fact her rear figure. She wore a school uniform, caramel bloodstains stained a large area of the uniform. It was so dirty that its original colour could not be seen.

Tang Zhi stood the closest to Bo Ye and saw the two people before his eyes clasping their hands together. His clear eyes were dark and the emotions on his face were unknown.

Bo Ye did not move from his spot nor did he dare to turn his head. His face that had always been indifferent became unsightly.

When he met a ghost for the first time, it was inevitable to panic.

He secretly used his strength to try to pull his hand out but that hand without any warmth gripped his hand even tighter.

“Are you alone…….” The female voice with its own air-conditioning effect asked him, “I’ll play with you……You are so good-looking.”

Followed by the sound of bones ‘cracking’ from collision, that head that could not be distinguished from its front or back, slowly turned towards Bo Ye.

Bo Ye: “Miss, could you let go of my hand?”

“……” The female voice became bitter and said when her request was not fulfilled,“I’ll play with you……You are so good-looking.”

Now, Bo Ye’s heart was in despair. He realised the girl was stronger than him and gripped his hand until it hurt.

“You are so good-looking……” In the perfectly straight hair, a scarlet tongue stretched out and went of Bo Ye’s face as if it had eyes.

So the others saw this strange scene.

The girl was not taller than the man’s shoulders and stood motionless on the spot. That scarlet tongue seemed to extend endlessly following Bo Ye’s lower jaw and licking all the way from his cheek to his forehead.

Hearing the sound of sticky saliva, Gu Meng had goosebumps.

He was not afraid of the female ghost being ugly but afraid of the ugly having special passion for him.

“Please don’t be like this.” Bo Ye closed his eyes and tilted his face to the side with difficulty. He did not want to experience the cold and wet sensation a second time, “My boyfriend is looking……”

Before he was done speaking, in the wake of a loud ‘bang’ sound, he felt the cold claws gripping him had loosened.

Bo Ye turned his head to look at the side. He didn’t know when Tang Zhi had already come to his side, single-handedly carrying a fire extinguisher and panting harshly. His gaze on the female ghost was scarier compared to the female ghost herself.

She was silently knocked off guard, both of the female ghost’s hands were fumbling on the floor with trembling hands, struggling to get up.

When she got up on her knees in the end, Tang Zhi swung the fire extinguisher and struck again, instantly knocking her down.

Bo Ye’s heart thumped and didn’t understand where Tang Zhi’s courage came from.

Throwing the metal cylindrical tank away, Tang Zhi grabbed the female ghost by the collar to lift her up and glared at her viciously, “You dared to lick my man! Even doing it in my presence, are you tired of living!”

Bo Ye: “……”

He realised for the first time, his boyfriend was so hardcore.

The other people in the hallway were even more muddle-headed. They only saw a boy wearing a miniskirt with a jacket tied to the waist, striking the female ghost until she was crawling all around. The scene was really too……surprising.

Gu Meng sighed in his heart, “Worthy of being from Sadako’s nation, he can even beat up ghosts when he gets vicious.”

“Candi.” Bo Ye saw that the female ghost no longer struggled but rather was facing Tang Zhi. The atmosphere didn’t seem right so he anxiously pulled Tang Zhi away by the waist, “That’s enough. If you hit anymore, she will die.”

Tang Zhi rolled up his left and right sleeves. His anger had not been resolved. He still wanted to step forth but Bo Ye hugged him by the waist and they unceasingly retreated backwards.

The female ghost got up from the floor in a distorted posture and the bones in her whole body seem to be misaligned. She carelessly pushed aside the hair before her eyes to two sides. A pitch-dark eye was closely staring at Tang Zhi. The bare skin she exposed was ash-coloured. Her mottled dead skin fluttered and fell off at a touch.

“I……I don’t want my face……1” Her ten fingers scratched her face from the top to the bottom. The female ghost stumbled closer towards everyone, it seemed like she was laughing then weeping from her voice.

Seeing her scary appearance being gradually exposed, Tang Zhi gradually sobered up and his whole body chilled.

As his jealousy and anger disappeared, his courage also followed along to fade away.

He grasped Bo Ye’s hand firmly and was a little embarrassed, “Was I too excessive just now?”

“How many times did I tell you?” Bo Ye sighed, “When you handle matters, don’t be too ruthless and burn one’s bridges2.”

At this moment, the female ghost screamed sharply, “I don’t want my face!”

The incandescent lights burst and there was a sharp pain in everyone’s eyes drums.

The female ghost rushed towards everyone.

The frightened screams of men and women resounded across the passageway in an instant. Everyone panicked and fled in disarray to either side of the hallway.

Bo Ye was quick-witted in doing things, he pushed the door of the dorm room and dragged Tang Zhi in.

The muffled sound of ‘boom’ was made at once, it was the sound of the female ghost hitting the door.

Outside the door, some people saw Bo Ye and Tang Zhi entering the door and also imitated them in pushing the door but it did not bulge.

The hot-tempered brother kicked the door of the dorm room, “F*ck! Why can they open the door!”

Gu Meng was struck with a sudden inspiration, “Could it be because Bo Ye held the hand of the female ghost? ”

“……”

At this time, the female ghost abruptly turned towards them. Everyone screamed and dispersed once more.

In the room, Bo Ye and Tang Zhi leaned back against the door, still in a state of shock and calming their breaths.

Bo Ye reached out his hand to touch the power switch on the wall and switched on the lights. After seeing the warmly decorated two-person dorm room, he drew a long breath of relief.

Outside the door, the sound of footsteps, screaming and knocking mixed together. Very tragically.

Suddenly, Tang Zhi thought of something and looked at Bo Ye in astonishment, “How did you get in?”

Bo Ye: “I pushed the door directly, it’s not locked.”

Even though only half of the sentence was heard, Gu Meng still complied. He didn’t look and randomly grabbed the hand of the person closest to him and ran towards the end of the hallway.

The lift before him opened silently, the light passing through from inside the lift set off a particular warmth in the dim environment.

Gu Meng’s eyes lit up as he dragged the person behind him at a faster pace.

After entering the lift, he pushed the button to the first floor and then raised his head. He was so frightened that he almost dirtied his pants.

The female ghost was obviously separated from them by the entire hallway but with her efforts in a blink of an eye, she suddenly reached the centre of the hallway. That dark eye stared directly in their direction and her target was totally clear.

In the next second, the female ghost was at a closer distance to them.

“Foul! Foul! How can she have the skill to teleport!” Gu Meng frantically pressed the close button in the lift and anxiously stomped his feet.

The lift door slowly closed but the speed of closing the door was by far not as good as the speed of the approaching female ghost.

Gu Meng stuck closely backwards against the wall of the lift. He was nearly scared out of his mind, “It’s over. It’s over. It’s over. It’s over……”

He continuously rattled on in a low voice. From the constant decreasing3 perspective of the lift doors, He saw that the female ghost had arrived outside the lift.

The female rolled her eyes and cracked with a strange smile, extending her hand towards them.

“Ding——”

The lift doors had totally closed.

Gu Meng let out a sigh of relief. His legs were so soft that he was unable to stand up so he leaned against the person beside him and forcefully said, “Classmate, let me lean on you for a while.”

“Bang!”

A deathly pale head extended into the lift small gap between the lift doors, The whole lift shook a little.

Gu Meng trembled all over in fear and nearly jumped.

The lift door was pulled open bit by bit and the brunette lifted her head, exposing her pitch-dark dark eye. The dead skin on her ash-gray skin fluttered and fell off.

She slowly revealed an evil grin, “I’ll play with you……You are so good-looking.”

Gu Meng plastered his whole body against the wall behind him and pulled a long face, “Nonono, I am ugly. I don’t deserve to play with you!”

“You are so good-looking……” The female ghost laughed evilly and produced a ‘hee hee sound. She completely pulled the lift doors open, “I’ll play with you!”

Seeing the brunette pouncing towards him, Gu Meng turned his head and closed his eyes.
