Cesar's Dance
At 8:30 in the morning, Taoles, fully dressed and ready to go, burst into Cesar's room and clung tightly to his arm, pouting, "Bro, let's go, hurry up! We'll be late if we don't leave now!"
"Get off, it's Friday, we have plenty of time. Move aside, I'll practice my dance first, then we'll leave." Cesar pushed away his clingy sister and walked downstairs.
"Who's going to supervise you? Why are you so serious? When Elsa asks, can't you just lie and say you practiced?" The little girl grabbed Cesar's leg and whined.
"Lie to her? I've tried, but never succeeded. Every time I lie to her, I get caught, and then..." Thinking of the chilling 'punishment,' Cesar shuddered uncomfortably, "Stop dawdling and let me go. The sooner I finish, the sooner we can leave."
"Alright!" Taoles said with a sullen face, "But I'm staying with you, don't kick me out!"
"Are you sure?" Cesar looked at his sister suspiciously, unsure, "Are you itching for a fight again?"
"Oh, I haven't seen you dance in so long, it's unbearable! Don't waste time, let's go! Let's go! This time I'll definitely set a new record." Without waiting for a response, Taoles pushed her brother's back, urging him towards the activity room on the first floor.
Cesar's activity room was as large as two living rooms, with two windows facing the backyard on one side and a huge floor-to-ceiling mirror on the other. The center of the room was empty and clean, while the corners were stacked with carpets and various fitness equipment. This room was specifically for the Earl's training, Nicole's workouts, Cesar's dancing, and Taoles's mischief.
Once inside, Cesar ignored Taoles, locked the door, and walked straight to the center of the room, facing the mirror. After several deep breaths, he slowly opened his eyes and stared coldly at his reflection.
At this moment, Cesar was no longer the casual and lazy person he had been before. He exuded a faintly cold aura. Taoles, who had been giggling and preparing to cause trouble, also became serious, acting like a well-behaved girl.
Ignoring his sister, Cesar stared coldly at his reflection and then began to move. His left foot shifted slightly, and his hands lifted one in front and one behind, forming a bizarre posture. Then, he continuously violated the natural laws of human movement, performing a series of actions that made one's teeth grind and scalp tingle.
Cesar's movements were not complex or difficult, but they were extremely awkward. Just watching them was unbearable. For a normal person, stepping with the left foot would naturally raise the right hand. If it were the opposite, it would be uncomfortable for both the person and the observer. It was even more challenging to control the limbs to perform actions that went against instinct.
Cesar's current movements were even more extreme than moving the same hand and foot, performing a series of twisted actions that resembled both a ritual and yoga. Sometimes he paused like a puppet, and other times he reversed like a rewinding tape. Despite the difficulty and strangeness of the dance, Cesar executed it flawlessly, without a single pause.
Thus, immersed in his own world, Cesar completed the bizarre dance, which lasted for forty minutes. Although he made many mistakes, he paid no attention and completed it according to a unique rhythm.
When Cesar finished the dance and came to his senses, Taoles was already huddled in the corner, pale and occasionally twitching.
"..."
Seeing his sister's state, Cesar rolled his eyes. How many times had this happened? Every few months, Taoles would watch Cesar dance, claim she wanted to challenge her limits, and then retreat as if injured.
"It's terrifying, Elsa is a monster! How can she create such a disgusting dance? Just watching for twenty minutes made me feel dizzy, nauseous, and short of breath." After five minutes, Taoles slowly recovered and looked at Cesar timidly.
"Is it? I often watch Elsa dance, and I just don't imitate her well. If you saw her dance, you'd understand what 'graceful as a startled swan, elegant as a swimming dragon' means..." Cesar said dreamily.
"What are you talking about? I don't understand! Anyway, stop praising her. It's really a shame that you have to dance every day. Why don't you just kill yourself?"
"Although it's complex, it's not as bad as you say. It's quite comfortable. Though not as effective as 'Martial Arts Techniques,' it still has a strengthening effect, especially when combined with Blood Honey. My physical condition is now almost on par with an adult's." Cesar wiped the sweat from his forehead with a towel, feeling satisfied. After years of relentless effort, he finally understood the 'rhythm' Elsa spoke of and could勉强 complete the entire dance. Usually, he would only manage to finish two-thirds of it.
"Can this compare to 'Martial Arts Techniques'? The fat girl in our class who practices 'Rock Impact Technique' can already knock out the PE teacher! And that's without fusing with her bloodline! Can you compare to her? She's five years younger than you!" The little girl asked, clearly annoyed.
"I haven't started practicing 'Techniques' yet. I'm building a solid foundation to strengthen my body. When I start practicing later, it will be much easier. By the way, you did well this time, lasting twenty minutes! You've successfully broken your limit." Cesar subtly changed the subject.
"Hmph! Of course! I'm a genius beauty!" Taoles replied proudly, "Quick, quick, change your clothes, or it'll be ten o'clock! Oh, and give me a drop of 'Blood Honey' to calm me down. I still feel uncomfortable after watching for so long!"
"You brought this on yourself! What flavor do you want?" Cesar rubbed his sister's head and summoned a small golden bottle with his hand, then asked.
"Soft... Ah, I want hard candy! Mint flavor!"
Cesar unscrewed the bottle cap, flicked his finger, and a drop of golden honey floated out. Then, green mist emerged from his palm, enveloping the honey. After a few rolls, the green mist shrank rapidly, transforming into a bright green hard candy in his palm.
"Here!"
"Feed me! Ah, ah, ah...!" The little bat opened her mouth and acted cute.
Cesar tossed the hard candy into Taoles's mouth and, while she wasn't paying attention, suddenly lifted his hands and pinched her face, then ran back to his room.
...
Fifteen minutes later, the two siblings met at the front door of their house.
Cesar was dressed in black sportswear, carrying a travel bag, wearing a baseball cap, and with a neat golden ponytail hanging down his back.
"Are you ready?" Cesar asked.
"Everything's packed!" Taoles, dressed in a princess dress, wearing a bow, and carrying a pink shoulder bag, replied.
"What did you bring? Why is your bag so bulging?" Cesar poked Taoles's bag, which felt soft inside.
"Four blood packs, two bags of candy, an apple, a bottle of juice, and a hundred one-cent coins. Don't worry, the blood packs are opaque, and I'll drink them away from people!" Taoles answered obediently.
"Why did you bring coins? I have money, I won't shortchange you."
"No, I brought the coins to hit monkeys! It's a truth our classmates have summarized: throwing stones at monkeys will get you fined by goblins, but throwing coins won't! I heard dragons like shiny things, I wonder if these coins will work?"
"What's wrong with kids these days? When we were young, we only brought a hundred marbles..." Cesar, who was about to graduate, looked at his first-grade sister with a nostalgic expression. This is the generation gap!
"Let's go! Let's go!" Taoles urged.
"Wait, take your medicine first!" Cesar took two bottles of medicine from his pocket, gave one to his sister, and drank the other.
Soon after, the horns on his head slowly twisted and merged with the baseball cap, becoming decorative horns. Taoles's bat wings flattened against her back, forming a wing-shaped pattern.
"Ugh, it's so bitter!" Taoles squinted.
"Remember, the effect lasts only ten hours!" Cesar took out another bottle and handed it to Taoles.
"Okay!"
