Various detection waves scanned Luo Jie from head to toe, inside and out, making him feel violated. In the world of undead creatures, such probing is extremely impolite. If there is no subordinate relationship, the only solution is to fight to the death.
Seeing the king's actions, all the undead creatures with the ability to fly took to the air, heading towards the *Yuanwang* in a massive wave. The *Yuanwang* was hovering at an altitude of about 60,000 meters, but this distance was no challenge for these high-level undead creatures.
"Fire!" Zhang Yuanshan's voice echoed through the bridge. As soon as he spoke, the entire ship shook violently. In this atmospheric environment, laser cannons are subject to many limitations and are far less effective than electromagnetic cannons. However, electromagnetic cannons have recoil, and despite a series of shock absorption measures, the firing of twelve turrets still caused visible vibrations to the ship.
These vibrations are very harmful. In the air, the warship has no fixed point, and even the slightest vibration could cause the gun barrels to deviate by a few millimeters. By the time the shells reach thousands of kilometers away, they could end up anywhere.
High-speed computers continuously correct the target, increasing accuracy by several percentage points.
Due to Luo Jie's special performance, three of the twelve electromagnetic cannons were aimed at him. When Zhang Yuanshan gave the order, Luo Jie, who was still several kilometers away, felt his soul jolt. His soul sensed that many components on the 'Goblin Airship' suddenly emitted a wave that made him feel uneasy.
His long-term combat instincts made Luo Jie react appropriately. His figure vanished from his original position and reappeared several meters to the side. Almost simultaneously, three straight, high-speed projectiles pierced through his original location, moving so fast that even Luo Jie, with his quick reflexes, couldn't clearly see what they were.
But he could clearly feel the terrifying destructive power contained in those three objects. The air was penetrated by three distinct traces, and for a brief moment, there was no air in those spots.
What could possibly break through the air?
Among the high-level undead creatures following Luo Jie, over a dozen necromancers and skeletons were shattered into pieces, some hit by the same shell. Their bodies, as sturdy as metal, were reduced to a cloud of debris, with flesh and bones splattering in all directions.
The electromagnetic shells, still carrying momentum, hit the ground, raising mushroom clouds. Within the impact zone, countless undead creatures were left without a trace.
Even the undead could not be immune to such intense shockwaves. Even if they weren't immediately scattered, they would suffer severe injuries.
Luo Jie felt the power of technology for the first time, realizing his own fragility. What would happen if he were hit by such a weapon head-on with his current strength?
The energy fluctuations on the 'Goblin Airship' intensified again. With the experience from the first time, Luo Jie's figure flickered, dodging the electromagnetic cannons aimed at him. His soul extended towards the warship, closely monitoring those strange weapons, ready to move away from the gun barrels at any moment.
Indeed, as a creature whose existence is solely for battle, Luo Jie's combat instincts allowed him to find the weaknesses of the enemy's weapons in the shortest time possible.
However, his subordinates were not as lucky. With each volley of electromagnetic cannons, over a dozen necromancers and skeletons were shattered. Even the undead found it difficult to re-form their bodies after the high-speed shells' impact.
Luo Jie moved at high speed, his figure disappearing and reappearing, steadily approaching the warship.
Inside the *Yuanwang*, a gunner shouted nervously, "Can't lock on, can't lock on. The main target seems to see my aiming direction. Damn, he's dodging so fast, is this teleportation?"
"No, slow-motion playback from the speed cameras can capture his trajectory. His maximum instantaneous speed is... is... is one-tenth the speed of light," the observer hesitated, seemingly doubting the accuracy of the number.
One-tenth the speed of light, or 30,000 kilometers per second, means that the *Yuanwang* and the target, at this distance, would only need one-sixtieth of a second to cross. Fortunately, this is just an instantaneous speed, not a sustained one. However, at this speed, the distance between them and the monster is too short to be considered safe.
Zhang Yuanshan also realized this and calmly ordered, "Increase the altitude of the warship, don't let the target get close. All gun barrels aim at the main target; I don't believe he can dodge every shot. Activate the AI to full power and calculate his movement trajectory."
The floor of the warship trembled slightly as it ascended, and the AI's full power caused the material disintegration engine to increase its output.
Two seconds later, Zhang Yuanshan heard the gunner shout, "Can't predict, can't predict. The target's movement trajectory is completely random, and it changes randomly with our actions. The target is observing us, the target is observing us."
"Bad, the target is accelerating!" the observer also shouted in alarm.
Luo Jie, in the air, aimed at a gap in the gun barrels and suddenly accelerated in a straight line, crossing a distance of 3,000 meters in an instant. Now he was only about 2,000 meters away from the warship, within the range where his soul could directly attack.
With a thought, his will transformed into a concentrated mental beam, shooting directly at the warship. He wanted to penetrate the warship's hull and see the situation inside. If it was really a goblin airship, his mental attack would kill the fragile goblin souls as easily as stepping on an ant.
However, the mental beam was blocked by an energy shield three meters away from the warship's hull.
In the bridge, a red light suddenly flashed, and a rapid report followed, "Energy shield under unknown attack, energy shield under unknown attack. The main target's energy fluctuation has increased by 60%, and the shield's strength has decreased by 1%."
Everyone's faces turned white. The *Yuanwang*'s energy shield was primarily designed to withstand harsh planetary and space environments, and its strength was higher than that of similarly sized warships. Even a direct hit from twelve electromagnetic cannons would only reduce its strength by about 3%.
In other words, the zombie's random unknown attack was equivalent to a simultaneous volley from four electromagnetic cannons.
"Accelerate and increase the distance," Zhang Yuanshan shouted. "Don't stop the cannons, continue the fire suppression." His voice carried a hint of panic. The zombie had demonstrated the power to destroy the *Yuanwang*, and if things went wrong, they would all be doomed.
They were explorers, not soldiers, and did not have the resolve to fight to the death. Seeing that the opponent was not to be trifled with, Zhang Yuanshan had already decided to retreat. After all, their mission was accomplished; reporting the coordinates and basic information would secure their reward, and there was no need to take further risks.
However, running away was not that easy. Continuous cannon fire could keep Luo Jie at bay, but any slight gap would allow him to charge straight in, crossing the distance in an instant with his one-tenth the speed of light acceleration.
If not for the *Yuanwang* continuously ascending, it would have been caught by Luo Jie long ago.
One fleeing, one pursuing, both gradually left the atmosphere, escaping the harsh atmospheric environment. Laser cannons could now be used, and Zhang Yuanshan eagerly ordered, "Prepare the laser cannons, blast the hell out of him." The tense atmosphere made him curse to relieve the pressure.
The ship trembled slightly as the engine's massive energy began to converge on the laser turrets.
Laser cannons travel at the speed of light, the fastest speed in the material world. Unless the zombie had teleportation abilities, it would be impossible to dodge.
Without waiting for Zhang Yuanshan's orders, the laser cannon gunner pushed the power to the limit and fired at maximum power.
Luo Jie's soul jolted. He sensed the energy fluctuations on the 'Goblin Airship' rapidly intensify, and some previously inactive devices now turned and aimed at his position. His combat instincts immediately prepared him for a response.
Suddenly, a strange device emitted a powerful wave, stronger than the electromagnetic cannons.
Almost instinctively, Luo Jie gathered his energy and unleashed a powerful punch, a thick energy beam breaking through his body and shooting forward.
