Suddenly, Luo Zheng, who was leaning against a large tree, moved, turned, and took a step forward. The gun in his hand fired, "Bang bang bang!" Three shots rang out, and Luo Zheng saw a man with a face full of shock fall to the ground, his eyes filled with unwillingness, confusion, and a desire to live.
After Luo Zheng succeeded, he leaned back against the tree, breathing heavily, his heart pounding. He was so nervous that he forgot this was his first time killing someone. His palms were drenched in cold sweat, and his back was soaked.
"Whoosh whoosh whoosh!" Three bullets hit the tree. Luo Zheng reacted quickly, immediately lying down. He felt a burning sensation on his scalp and quickly touched it, discovering that a bullet had grazed his head. Enraged, he rolled over and hid behind another nearby tree. After narrowly escaping death several times, Luo Zheng had forgotten his fear, and his heart was filled with anger and a desire for revenge.
On the battlefield, no one expected Luo Zheng to be a variable, and even less expected him to kill in such an ambush. The enemy was enraged, and bullets rained down on the tree Luo Zheng was hiding behind. Fortunately, the tree was as thick as four people could encircle, with hard wood that was not easily penetrated.
Luo Zheng was determined to kill the enemy, but in the face of a strong opponent, he wisely chose to hide. A strange sound of a bullet was hidden in the gunfire, followed by a scream. The forest fell silent, with only the rustling of the treetops in the wind. Luo Zheng guessed that the female soldier had taken action, but he still didn't dare to move, not knowing how many strong enemies were still lurking in the depths of the forest.
"Ratta-tat-tat!" Suddenly, a burst of automatic rifle fire echoed from deep in the forest. Luo Zheng was startled and turned to look, seeing many people rushing out from the dense forest. He didn't know who they were, but from the direction of the gunfire, he feared that the enemy reinforcements had arrived.
"Quick, retreat." A cold female voice suddenly came from nearby.
The voice was familiar, and Luo Zheng knew it was the female soldier without looking. He was about to retreat when he saw the weapons discarded by the enemy he had killed nearby. He decisively lunged forward, grabbed the gun, and quickly rolled to one side. Hearing the sound of a bullet, he didn't dare to look back, quickly got up, and ran eastward, bending over. Remembering the female soldier's mention of zigzag running and feint running, he didn't quite understand but thought that zigzag running meant running in a zigzag pattern. He changed direction constantly and ran for his life.
The female soldier, who was covering the rear, saw Luo Zheng running and her cold, icy face showed a hint of surprise, but it quickly returned to its icy state. She fired to stop an enemy who was trying to pursue, waited for a moment, and then decisively retreated. She disappeared in a few quick movements, moving with incredible speed.
After running for a while, Luo Zheng felt his chest constrict as if he were suffocating. He slowed down, and when his breathing became smoother, he stopped. The sky was getting dark, and the female soldier had not followed. He became worried, knowing that it would be difficult to move after dark. He had lost his backpack and had no food or water, making the night ahead difficult.
"How did you stop?" A cold female voice suddenly came from the forest.
Hearing the cold voice, Luo Zheng's heart eased. He looked in the direction of the voice and saw the female soldier approaching, her steps unsteady. He suddenly remembered that she had a wound on her thigh and quickly went to support her. When he met her cold gaze, his outstretched hand awkwardly stopped in mid-air. He smiled sheepishly and said, "It's almost dark. What should we do next?"
The female soldier did not answer Luo Zheng but coldly observed the surroundings, looked up at the sky, and saw that the North Star had appeared. She lowered her head and thought for a moment. After a while, she didn't waste words and chose a direction to move forward.
Luo Zheng could tell that the female soldier didn't like to waste words and didn't bother to say more. He followed closely behind, observing the advanced weapon he had risked his life to seize. Unfortunately, he couldn't understand it or use it. He said, "I don't know how to use this gun. You take it. A pistol is fine for me."
The female soldier suddenly paused, stopped, and slung the gun on her back. She took the gun, looked at it, and said, "M16A4 automatic rifle, effective range 600 meters, magazine capacity 30 rounds." She quickly disassembled the magazine, looked inside, and saw that it was half full. She reassembled the magazine with a click, her movements extremely proficient, leaving Luo Zheng in awe and admiration. This was what a soldier should be.
"Equipped with an optical sight package, including an AN/PEQ-5 laser pointer, a holographic diffraction sight (HDS), and an AN/PVS-14 night vision aiming system. It has three firing modes: single shot, burst, and fully automatic." The female soldier coldly explained to Luo Zheng, disassembling the parts to check them as she spoke. She then showed Luo Zheng how to disengage the safety and fire, handing him the gun.
Luo Zheng looked at the female soldier in amazement. Although her explanation was detailed, he only remembered half of it. Fortunately, he knew the key actions of disengaging the safety and firing. He didn't take the gun and said with a self-deprecating smile, "To be honest, I'm good with a shotgun. I used to hunt a lot as a kid. I only fired a few rounds in basic training. I've never touched such an advanced weapon. It would be a waste in my hands."
"Use it like a shotgun." The female soldier said coldly, throwing the gun to Luo Zheng and turning to walk forward.
"Uh?" Luo Zheng looked at the female soldier, who had turned to leave. Her camouflage uniform was covered in mud, adding to her heroic appearance and giving her a unique charm. Luo Zheng quickly dismissed the chaotic thoughts in his mind and followed her, asking detailed questions about how to use the gun. The female soldier didn't hold back and answered all his questions.
In a short while, Luo Zheng had basically mastered the use of the gun and was fondly handling it. As a soldier, Luo Zheng also loved guns. He activated the night vision aiming function and occasionally aimed at the front, getting excited. He asked, "Hey, I can't keep calling you 'hey,' that's impolite. I'm Luo Zheng. What's your name?"
The female soldier suddenly stopped, turned to look at Luo Zheng, her cold eyes full of scrutiny, making Luo Zheng's scalp tingle. She turned and continued walking without a word. Luo Zheng didn't dare to ask the question again and quickly followed, continuing to fiddle with the weapon in his hands.
Soon, it was so dark that they couldn't see the path. The female soldier suddenly stopped, looked around, and found a place to sit and rest, ignoring Luo Zheng. Luo Zheng had no choice but to find a place to sit and rest nearby, using the gun's sight to observe the surroundings. He saw nothing but dense trees stretching endlessly and said, "You rest for a while. I'll keep watch."
