### Day One of Military Service

To be precise, it's the first day I was dispatched to the training academy.

During the journey, I was jolted around in a large carriage... or rather, a large vehicle pulled by some mysterious creature that was neither a cow nor a dragon.

I was so seasick that day that I don't remember much. I finally got off and went to the bed assigned to me.

I might need some anti-seasickness measures.

After that, I was lodged in an inn near what seemed to be the training academy.

And then, what they called an opening ceremony. It felt like a ceremony where the academy's soldiers welcomed the new recruits.

"I expect you to serve our country as soldiers."

The speech by someone who seemed to be a representative was quite memorable.

After that, we were given living supplies and clothing.

Even the clothes are uniform... I knew I would be part of the military when I came to this world, but it still feels surreal.

Then, I was subjected to a physical measurement.

It seems there's some kind of terminal-like device that can display my status.

A senior soldier raised an eyebrow when he saw me.

"Huh? You are... What's with this LV!?"

At that moment, someone who looked like a superior officer tapped him on the shoulder and shook his head.

"He's a recommendation. The order is to ignore his LV."

"Understood!"

So, I managed to avoid getting scolded.

However, it seems there's a minimum LV required for military service.

I must have been exempted from that.

After the physical measurement, there was a mock battle... it seemed those who had some experience were to fight with the seniors.

I was exempted from that as well. Well, with my stats, I would have been a pushover.

After the physical measurement, I was led to a bed.

On the way,

"Meals are only served at designated times, so don't laze around in bed! The enemy won't wait for you in a crisis!"

A senior soldier explained the schedule to us.

Among the new recruits, there were humans, as well as sub-humans with non-human ears and beastmen who looked more like animals.

After a long explanation... I had imagined a room with four beds, but it turned out to be a large room with countless bunk beds, and each of us was assigned a bed.

"You new recruits will be staying in this new recruit room for the first two months! Report immediately if anything happens!"

There must be some reason for this, but I can't figure it out right now.

"Totsuka Yuki!"

"Here!"

"You're here!"

I was assigned the top bunk in a corner.

"And... Brutochres, the returnee. You're on the bottom."

"Boo"

I looked in the direction of the voice.

There was... a bipedal pig, short enough to be called a three-headed creature. Its legs were short, and its hands were even shorter. What is this guy?

He was about as tall as my chest. From certain angles, he looked like an egg.

He had a mysterious tag on his ear. Is that a piercing or something?

"Ph... Being on top of an orc is pitiful. I'd probably get a nosebleed from the smell."

Someone nearby pointed at me and laughed.

Huh? This is an orc?

The orc from fantasy?

Isn't it a bit too fancy in appearance?

Isn't this guy more like a pet?

"Boo"

Brutochres... that's his name, right? He unpacked his luggage and placed it on the bed.

Hmm? His tail is fluffy like a dog's.

Not the curly pig tail.

Oh well. I should introduce myself.

"I'm Totsuka Yuki. Yuki is my first name, and Totsuka is my last name. Nice to meet you."

After introducing myself, Brutochres looked at my hand and face alternately before stopping.

What's wrong?

Then, he cautiously extended his small hand and placed it on mine.

"Ue"

Someone nearby watching us let out a sound.

Did something creepy happen?

"Brutochres, right?"

"Boo"

He nodded.

"It's a bit long and hard to call. Can I use a nickname? Like 'Buru'?"

"Boo"

He nodded, so it seems to be okay.

After the introductions, we were assigned to the day's training, which involved carrying heavy objects around the schoolyard.

"Listen up! You trainees, the guy in the same bed is your partner! What kind of soldier can't support their partner's mistakes! Now! Run, run! Trainees! First, build your bodies! That's how you'll become strong!"

Buru took my luggage and ran lightly beside me.

He has a lot of stamina... or maybe it's because of his high LV.

I was struggling just to run, and my pace was slow!

"You guys are pathetic! Show more spirit!"

About 20% of the trainees were out of breath from the seniors' hazing... the rest seemed to be doing fine.

Most of them had raised their LVs before joining the military, so this was nothing to them.

Ugh... tough.

By the way... what's an L-charge?

I focused on it.

Suddenly, a surge of energy overflowed from within my body!

"Oooh!"

With endless stamina, I ran without getting out of breath.

Everything around me felt incredibly slow.

This is so convenient! It seems to have activated.

"Trainee Yuki... you pass."

The senior was surprised.

Ah, this must be the effect of being from another world.

This is the first time I've felt a sense of fantasy here.

Buru... he carried his luggage at his own pace and caught up.

He must be pretty fast, right?

After that, we were assigned to serve the meals.

...The food was terrible!

I had been eating at inns and thought the food in this world wasn't bad, but this was different.

It was really stinky.

The faces of the others around me were grim.

By the way... what was that blue, jelly-like substance?

It looked like it might make me sick, but everyone was eating it, so I swallowed it.

By then, the effect of the L-charge had worn off, and I suddenly felt drained and heavy.

My body was screaming.

This isn't a game, but I need to raise my LV quickly to catch up.

Despite the growing sense of crisis, it was now free time.

We were allowed to do as we pleased until bedtime.

The training academy had various facilities set up throughout the buildings.

It seemed to be designed for those who wanted to become adventurers.

There were a library, a lounge, and numerous mock training rooms.

I stood in front of the terminal and accessed it.

### Totsuka Yuki

### LV 1

### Infiltration Rate: 0.93%

### Skills: Otherworld Language Understanding 1, No: L-charge

### Skill Points: 10

Yesterday, the infiltration rate was 0.09, but it suddenly increased!

No mistake! Using the L-charge causes a rapid increase!

This mysterious value is so unknown!

The people in the castle said it was due to the unique atmospheric adaptation issues of otherworlders!

But why does it increase with the L-charge?

I should try to avoid using it as much as possible and endure until the last moment.

I was getting carried away with the fantasy feeling, but this is too painful.

If I have to use it, I should save it for a crisis.

### Reflections on the First Day

I... am too weak.

It's said that summoned otherworlders are stronger than the people in this world, but that seems highly questionable.

I should investigate the Skill Points section.

I remember that there are classroom lessons starting tomorrow, but for now, I want to alleviate the physical pain.

This fatigue will definitely turn into muscle soreness tomorrow.

Is there anything convenient?

"Huh? There are quite a few options here."

Otherworld text translation... step, tackle... magic recovery, eagle eye... owl eye... what are these?

There are countless skills, and I don't understand them well.

I have experience with online games... but do they apply here?

Still, ugh... this is tough.

Looking at my stats, my stamina is in a dangerous state.

Is there anything... yes!

Stamina Recovery.

Acquisition Condition: Cleared

It seems that if I meet the conditions, I can acquire the skill by allocating points.

I tried allocating 1 point to Stamina Recovery.

I felt a light envelop my body, but there doesn't seem to be any visible change.

### Totsuka Yuki

### LV 1

### Infiltration Rate: 0.93%

### Skills: Otherworld Language Understanding 1, No: L-charge, Stamina Recovery 1

### Skill Points: 9

I must have acquired a new skill, but I can't feel any immediate effect.

No choice. I'll allocate more points to Stamina Recovery.

So, I allocated 4 points to Stamina Recovery.

It seems that 1 Skill Point raises the level by 1.

Oh? It feels like the fatigue is being alleviated, similar to when I drank the expensive nutritional drink my father used to drink.

My heavy body feels a bit lighter... probably.

While looking at the stamina value, I could see it recovering visibly.

Hmm... next... I had many concerns during the journey, but not being able to read the text is a big problem.

Is there a convenient skill for that?

I remember there was an Otherworld Text Translation, so I allocated 1 point to it.

The Reraria Kingdom text appeared, and I checked it to acquire it.

It's convenient.

Now, I have 5 Skill Points left... I should save them for necessary skills when needed.

Just to check... there are training skills for swords, axes, and the like.

As for magic... it doesn't seem to be available. I can't find it.
