Fake 29: The Duo’s First Subjugation Request

I’ve never seen an original double skills-holder until now.

Perhaps, it would be good to have a few other double skills-holders in our school, but Aoi might be the only one.

Moreover, both of Aoi’s skills are attack skills, furthermore, different types of skills.

There aren’t many survivors who possess such blessed skills.

Also, I was able to ask Aoi about the Levels and Skills in detail.

This kind of content can be learned to a certain extent from the lessons at school. Even so, I’ve never had the chance to inquire about these subjects to an actual excellent survivor, so this became a great learning experience for me.

Aoi’s skills also have restrictions on the skill-usable times, just like mine, but her skill-usable times are three times that of mine.

Honestly, if she does have those skills with such skill-usable times, I think she is definitely better than me. I also think she could have managed the other day's case by herself as well. I wonder if she was scared out of her mind by the sudden attack of an unforeseen number of monsters.

Anyway, because I haven’t compared my skills’ abilities with other survivors in detail, I didn’t know that the skills imitated by [Faker] were degraded not only in power but also in skill-usable times. And, the thing about skill-usable times increasing as the level rises seems to be the same for everyone.

One more thing, apparently, the powers of the skills increase by leveling up as well.

I’ve never noticed it before because my skills were significantly weakened from the start. Perhaps, the powers of my skills might be increasing in that same way.

If the power of [Lightning] happens to increase, I feel like it will work against even higher-rank monsters, so I am hoping for that to happen.

And then, the last piece of information was different from my common knowledge.

Though extremely rare, it seems some survivors may develop a new skill at the time of level up.

This situation is closer to a system loophole in the general knowledge that the skill will stay unchanged after its manifestation.

The already manifested skill doesn't change, whereas the number of skills can increase.

I don’t know whether the school intentionally hid this information or whether it is ignored for the extreme rarity of this kind of case; nevertheless, the possibility of another original skill manifesting in addition to [Faker] is not a small matter for me.

“ “Beep Beep” ”

Mine and Aoi’s terminal rang at the same time.

“Aoi, this is our first monster subjugation request as a party. Let’s get ready.”

“Yes, I understand.”

Aoi returned to her room to prepare. Having worn the equipment and finished preparing, I left the room and waited for Aoi.

Aoi also came out soon, but she doesn’t seem to be wearing any particular equipment.

“Does Aoi not wear things like armor?”

“I wear inner armor so that I can move with ease.”

“I see. Then, what about your weapons?”

“Unfortunately, I don’t use any because I don’t have the confidence to fight monsters in close combat.”

Logically speaking, she is not wrong; however, as expected, not carrying any weapon is a little worrying.

“If you don’t mind, use this for self-defense in case of emergency. Don’t worry, this is brand new that has never been used even once.”

Having said that, I handed my spare smaller knife along with its holder to Aoi.

“Is this okay? I am happy. Thank you very much. I will use this in case of emergency.”

Aoi said that and accepted the knife with a smile.

It would be good if it reduces the potential danger even a little. Still, no matter how bad she is at close combat, not even carrying a knife is... perhaps, Aoi might be unexpectedly hopeless in some areas.

Even so, I want to avoid having Aoi fight in close combat as much as possible.

After that, I headed to the scene by riding my racing bicycle. Aoi was also riding a racing bicycle like me.

However—from the look of it—it feels like hers has better performance than my 20,000 yen racing bicycle. I was rowing my bicycle with such speed, but Aoi kept pace with me effortlessly. Maybe, there is a considerable difference in performance even in the same racing bicycles.
