Fake 30: Explosion

Although it took some time to prepare, our travel was unexpectedly smooth, so we arrived at the scene about 20 minutes after the notification came from the terminal.

“Now, shall we go? Just in case, be prepared to retreat at a moment's notice. Don’t overdo it no matter what. And, make sure not to go too far ahead. Also……”

“Rin-kun. It will be okay. I’m glad that you are worried about me, but I also have some experience, you know.”

“...............oops”

I’ve done it.

I was only thinking I mustn’t expose Aoi to danger. However, when I thought about it carefully, she was a higher rank survivor with more experience than me.

I might have said something unnecessary.

How embarrassing……

“Even so, thank you very much. I appreciate it.”

Having said that, Aoi smiled at me gently, and my nervousness dissipated.

I just noticed that, but it seemed I was nervous and became rigid before my first regular party’s battle. However, with a word and a smile from Aoi, my stiff body relaxed. And I returned to my usual condition.

I proceeded alongside Aoi. The orcs were forming a group of five.

By teaming up with the E-rank Aoi, I also become able to accept E-rank requests as a party. Since there are two of us, we set the terminal’s setting to receive up to five monsters if they are F-rank.

Although this is the same number as the last time, there shouldn’t be any problems if we are in perfect conditions.

“Alright, let’s do this”

The five orcs seemed to have noticed me and Aoi. All of them simultaneously came toward us by swaying their huge bodies.

When the five orcs, which can be called giants, came all at once, they emitted quite the pressure—to be honest, it was scary.

“Disappear! [Lightning] [Lightning]”

Just like usual, I fired [Lightning] in succession. The first shot accurately hit and exterminated the first orc. However, instead of stopping, the orcs even speeded up, so the second shot ended up missing.

How troublesome. Did I get too anxious because of the enemy's number?

“Rin-kun, I’m also here, so it’s okay even if you don’t rush, [Explosion]”

Immediately, Aoi, who was right next to me, activated her skill, and an explosion occurred in the front.

[Explosion] generates flames just like [Fireball]; however, different from [Fireball] that flies forward, [Explosion] seems to directly detonate the targeted location.

Furthermore, its power is higher than [Fireball], and it also seems to affect a wider area. But, to attack the enemy with pinpoint accuracy in situations where someone is engaging in close combat like she did the last time, one needs to possess a knack for it.

The group of orcs whose vigor was chipped off by the explosion came to a stop, and we attacked them without delay.

“Ahh, you saved me Aoi. [Explosion] [Explosion]”

I also attacked with [Explosion] that I’ve recently learned in rapid succession.

Although it is considerably inferior to Aoi’s original, it has just the right power to defeat humanoid opponents.

In the end, the moment I hit [Explosion] skill-usable limit, our battle also came to an end.
