Faker 5: Fireball (imitated)

The next day, I tried contacting the other two party members using survivor exclusive terminal, but only Michitaka-san responded.

I then heard Michitaka-san has three rib-bones cracked and needs a whole month for complete recovery.

I tried asking about another member, but his injury seems to be only a broken nose and bruises on the face.

However, it appears he has become a shut-in due to the trauma of getting hit in the face.

I also heard he wouldn't be able to resume as a survivor for the time being.

Since both of them couldn’t hope for immediate recovery, I left the temporary party after getting approval from Michitaka-san.

And then, after school was over, I tweaked the setting on the terminal and applied for solo registration.

With this, if G-rank monsters appeared near me, I should be getting subjugation requests.

I got home from school, and while I was eating cup noodles for dinner, the terminal started ringing.

When I quickly checked it, it was a notification about the appearance of a monster.

"All right!"

I enthusiastically headed out to the scene by riding my bicycle.

I proceeded while checking the GPS, left my bicycle before arriving at the location, and continued advancing on my own.

I carefully moved forward, and a goblin appeared in my view.

To be honest, this isn’t my first time confronting a goblin alone.

Unfortunately, at that time, I was beaten black and blue and almost got killed. Only because another survivor who happened to be around there came rushing did the incident end without anything happening too serious.

Since then, I decided to never approach the monsters by myself.

But if I say I am not nervous, that would be a lie.

Even though I haven’t fought yet, sweat is gushing out from my whole body, and the sound of my heart beating is getting faster and faster too.

I don’t know whether it is simply from fear or because I am feeling excitement, but my entire body is trembling.

The desire of wanting to defeat a goblin alone, which I’ve longed for over a year, surpassed all other emotions and pushed my body forward.

A fireball around the size of a golf ball flew toward the goblin.

The goblin, who was immediately hit by the fireball, let out a roar.

Although the goblin faltered from the pain, it was still far away from the fatal wound.

I already knew it would be like this.

Previously, I’d imitated [Fireball] and used it, so I knew I couldn’t defeat the goblin with just this.

"I’m not finished yet! Here I come! [Fireball] [Fireball]"

I continued attacking the goblin by using [Fireball] in rapid succession.

For me, who just reached Lv2 yesterday, I couldn't use my skills in succession many times, but I’d already considered that in my imaginary training.

Against the goblin, who became wary and stopped approaching, I charged forward before it could steady itself again and released another [Fireball] to flinch it once more.

Then, I instantly slipped into within arms reach and—

"[Wave Blade]"

Due to the skill, a knife-size blade appeared in my right hand, and using my body’s momentum, I collided against the goblin with the blade between us.

Similar to yesterday's situation, the blade, which was created by skill, sank into the goblin's body with slight resistance.
