I let go of both controllers, withdrawing my tension as if unraveling a thread of concentration.

“Onee-chan, it’s over!? Who won!?”

“It ended just now. The left side won, which means I also won the bet.”

I disregarded Touka who had crumbled to the floor and gladly took the last ice cream from the freezer.

“No way, I can’t win against Onee-chan anyways! The only way to beat you is to pit Onee-chan against herself!”

Touka unashamedly said this, relying on someone else’s ability.

“Eh, really!?”

Touka asked as I held out a scoop of ice cream with a spoon.

Though her eyes stayed glued towards the ice cream.

“I can’t just casually eat if you’re gonna look that sulky.”

“Thank you! I love you Onee-chan!”

Trying to score some points?

“It’s so cold and delish…… Come to think of it, you said you were gonna quit this game soon, but what are you playing next?”

“Fufufu, you’ve listened well, my dear sister.”

“Onee-chan, did you hit your head somewhere?”

How rude. Then again, I did seem to be feeling pretty high in spirits.

“Ahem, I’m thinking of playing the new VR game that’ll release next month.”

“Huh? Onee-chan, I thought you couldn’t play VR since it bugs out with your parallel thinking, doesn’t it?”

“Since I had nothing to lose, I sent them an email and they replied back.”

One of my special talents.

I’ve always been good at multitasking since I was little, but before I even noticed, it had developed into parallel thinking.

It’s useful, one way or another. You can do various activities with it.

For example, you could have 2 books in both hands and read them while pretending to be Prince Shoutoku or fiddle around with 2 controllers and play against yourself in a fighting game.

When I first played a VR game, I thought it’d be possible for me to invoke magic simultaneously without the skill for it and happily used parallel thinking to achieve it.

Yet, what appeared wasn’t magic circles but rather, error messages.

I was forcibly logged out and banned for using an unauthorized tool so I contacted management right away.

However, the reply I got back was, “you shouldn’t be able to do that without the usage of an outside device.”

After that, I sent a bunch of emails, but never got my ban lifted. A while later, I filed a lawsuit and won, so I guess I can’t really say I intend on still complaining about it after all this time.

Anyways, the result was that I began to hate VR games and only devoted myself with games that involved controllers.

Despite that, in January of this year, the leading company in VR cutting edge technology, “Magicraft” announced a new VRMMORPG called “Mongrel Stacker”.

Mongrel Stacker, or “MonSta” for short managed to implement non-human avatars which was thought to be difficult to execute technically.

I found out about it and harbored a tinge of hope. I sent an email requesting support for parallel thinking and they said that they’d implement that as well.

Because of that, I’ve decided to return to the world of VR.

“Heh~ I knew Magicraft was incredible, but wouldn’t have imagined that they’d go that far.”

“I’m definitely thankful…… Now then, I guess I should apply for an actual slot for MonSta.”

Touka was so stunned, her eyes turned to dots as she stared at me. Hm? I wonder what’s wrong with her.

“Service begins on August 1st and it’s only July 4th right now, so I still have time, you know?”

“…… Ahh, it’s Onee-chan after all. I reckon there’s no way you’ll be rejected.”

“I have my heart set on it, so there’s no way I won’t be selected!”

“Do you know what a desire sensor is? Onee-chan’s sensor appears to be broken though.”
