6 Mone-Style Parallel Thinking Arts #48

Currently, all of the housework in the Anekawa household is handled by the eldest daughter, Mone.

The parents were assigned to a high paying job in Tokyo and their second daughter, Touka, was all about exercise.

Because of that, today as well, Touka was sitting at the dining table, waiting for food.

Yet, even though she waited and waited, Mone never showed up.

“Gah! Is she gaming? Are games more important to her than her little sister’s dinner!?”

Waiting wasn’t something that Touka was good at.

“Onee-chaaan! your cute little sister is going to starve to death!”

My consciousness resurfaces.

The ceiling is reflected through my eyes.

“Onee……an”

My eyes regain their clarity.

“Onee-chan! You okay!?”

Touka enters my field of view with a worrying expression.

When I checked the clock, it appears that I had been unconscious for around 2 hours after getting disconnected

“I’m okay…… probably. Though, I’m not feeling too well so I think I’ll just take a bath and head to sleep. Later.”

“Eh? What about the food!?”

“You can handle it yourself.”

“Wait, hold on. Wait just a minute Onee-chan! You know what the best dish I can manage is, right!?”

Ah, ah, ah. I’m not listening.

…… By the way, Touka’s specialty was instant curry.

After Corona was forcibly logged out, “Mongrel Stacker” entered an emergency maintenance.

The estimated time of it being done was the next day, at 6pm.

Naturally, as there wasn’t a prior announcement concerning the maintenance, there were a couple of complaints, but since the servers had only opened recently, the public generally accepted it as something that couldn’t be helped.

So, what problems did the maintenance serve to fix?

・Corrections to certain symptoms of insanity

・Corrections to some status effects

・Corrections to a beginning spawn point which included a no exclusion zone

Those were the 3.

To elaborate further,

・Some「Symptoms of Madness」from eating strange food would cause the player to completely lose consciousness.

・「Status Effect: Indefinite Insanity」was revised because the technology used was too advanced.

・Fixed the spawn point,「Garbage Disposal Plant」which was an off-limits area.

…… Incidentally, Corona was the only one who had experienced all 3.

Moreover, in order to keep the forced log out caused by Indefinite Madness from becoming a huge scandal, Corona would be sent an apology email along with many reimbursement items, but that’s a story for another time.

Rise and shine, everyone.

It’s a great morning today!

Eh? What about all the suffering from yesterday, you ask?

Fufufu, something like that was no match for my “Mone Style – Parallel Thinking Arts #48”. It was a piece of cake.

Now then, it seems like Monsta was in the middle of a maintenance….. I guess I’ll play the games that I haven’t touched in a while.

“Hmm, I think it was around here?”

I had 3 choices to pick from.

The first was “Hitman Double”.

It was supposed to be advertised as a 2-player co-op FPS where the players form a two-man team and fight together, but ever since people found out that the person who kills their partner reaps all the rewards, it became a so-called trash game that sees constant friendly fire.

Its nickname was “Golgo DX”. After all, if we’re talking hitmen, it’s gotta be Golgo 13.

As for the reason behind DX, “DX -> Double X -> Double Cross = Betrayal”

The second option was “Dual”.

It’s a rhythm game that plays two songs at once and you have to engage both beats.

The adjustment in difficulty in it is superb and it’s considered to be a gold standard for rhythm games.

Since its original name is short, it doesn’t have a nickname.

The 3rd one was “Gradual Duel”.

It was a fighting game which allowed players to compete in a 4v4 at maximum. There were 8 types of swordsmen and mages you could compose and fight with.

Its nickname was “Graduel”.

It was the game I was playing just before MonSta came out.

“Hmm, I haven’t played Golgo DX or Dual in a long time so…… I guess I’ll go with my safe choice, Graduel.”

With that being said, I booted up Graduel and picked up two controllers.

Oh? two of my friends are logged on? Not only that, but these two were currently the top ranking two in Graduel right now?

…… Seems like they’ve accepted.

Although it’s been a month, I was once ranked 1st in tag duels. I have no intentions of losing, just letting you know.
