【side Miyako】

I, Takanowagi Miyako, am a professional gamer.

I don’t mean to brag, but I’m pretty good when it comes to gaming.

With my close friend from junior high school, Soujou Ren, we formed a team and since then have won numerous tournaments.

If I dare say so myself, the top two pros in Japan were likely me and Ren.

It also wasn’t rare for the both of us to meet in the finals of individual tournaments.

Even so.

Even though I’ve said all this.

I felt as if I’d never win against the pair in front of me, Ane and Mone.

If it was a 1on1, then I could probably win against either of them.

Ane and Mone were good at games, but not as good as Ren and I.

Yet, the story changes when Ane and Mone team up.

Pepe and Ronchino, our tag-team couldn’t win, but only put up a fight with whatever we had.

The reason for that was Ane and Mone’s outlandish teamwork.

The two have been together as a team for 6 years and I’d say we’ve built our cooperation to a highly respectable level.

However, there was something different about these two.

They’d use a skill that would leave openings and cause self-damage, yet they provided cover and healed with no delay.

They would suddenly accelerate to avoid friendly fire.

Honestly speaking, it’s freaky.

Every single action one of them takes is compensated by each other as if they’ve merged into a single monster.

They themselves have apparently said, “It’s not a group of 2 people, it’s just 1 individual playing 2 characters at the same time,” but if that’s true, then they really were a monster.

Still, I could believe it. That’s just how strong they were.

Aah, Ronchino got done in. It’s only a matter of time before they get me too.

In the end, we could only last half a minute against them.

This was supposed to be after a entire month of not playing too.

Makes you wanna laugh, doesn’t it?

Pepe: Good game

Ronchino: Good game

Mone: It was a good game

Pepe: As expected, you guys are absolute monsters. What happened to that 1 month break?

Mone: Not “you guys,” I’ve said it time and time again, it’s just me.

Ronchino: It’s terrifying how I can’t find a way to deny any of that.

Pepe: Actually, shouldn’t you be retired, what brings you here? What about MonSta?

Mone: It’s in maintenance

Pepe: I see

Mone: VR’s amazing, you know! It’s so fun!

Ronchino: What’s up with this guy, making fun of us for failing on getting into the first batch of players, huh?

Pepe: How irritating~

Mone: I did say that with absolute ill-intent but…… if that didn’t get through to you, should I apologize?

Ronchino: You……!

Pepe: Ooh, that gets on my nerves~!

Mone: So fun!

Pepe: So annoyingggg!!

Ronchino: We’ll be participating in the 2nd draft, so when that happens, just you wait.

Mone: I see, so you’ll be failing twice, I understand completely.

Pepe: Oh, you’re making me sick – to – my – stomach!

Mone: Pepe-san, isn’t that just indigestion?

Ronchino: It’s frustrating, but that still got me, lol.

Since her tone’s always excessively polite, it drives me up the wall even more!

That last message was somewhat amusing too. How aggravating!

I’ll never forgive you!

…… That said, I’m a bit anxious about the registration so I’ll just leave my words at that.

【side Mone】

Phew, it’s about time for lunch, so let’s take a break from Graduel.

…… Which reminds me, I’m pretty sure I didn’t end up preparing anything for dinner last night. I’ll cook Touka’s favorite omelette rice to make up for it.

After 20 minutes, 2 portions of omelet rice were made.

I heard footsteps running in the hallway.

“Onee-chan, we’re having omelette rice today!?”

“Since I couldn’t make dinner yesterday, I wanted to make up for it by making your favorite today.”

“Umu, no objections!”

Touka helped set the table and not long after, the table was besieged as the omelette was scarfed down.

…… There might’ve been a bit too much ketchup. 87 points.

“Oh right, starting today I won’t have any club activities for a while, so I’ll be able to play MonSta too.”

Touka attends the same school as me under a sports recommendation for short-distance sprints. Our high school was attached to a university and considering how it was centered on preparing students to get into said university, it was pretty unusual how strong our school was when it came to track and field activities.

“Seems weird for our school’s track team to have an extended vacation.”

“I heard the coach won a spot for MonSta”

Oi, “strong” school.

After that, I chatted with Touka for a while and went through a fair bit of my summer homework before it was time for maintenance to almost be over.

“Onee-chan, let’s reunite in game! Where should we meet up?”

“Hmm, I don’t think I can though?”

“Eh, why not?”

Hm? Ahh, I haven’t explained my situation to Touka yet.

I gave Touka the break down of what happened leading up to my forced log out yesterday.

“Heh~, so that’s why you looked so exhausted…… Guess I’ll go have a talk with Magicraft.”

“No, stop that.”

I’m glad she got upset for my sake, but that would definitely go poorly.

“Aww”

“What do you mean ‘aww’. Come on, maintenance ended so I’m gonna log in.”

“Okaaay~”
