EP.1 Chapter 1

[Dingding~ Good morning~ Ding-]

I reflexively moved my hand to turn off the alarm ringing by my pillow.

I don't know who composed it, but it's a good song for waking you up forcefully.

Just hearing the "pipipip" sound that follows is enough to make you feel so stressed that any thought of lingering in bed would fly out the window, so my body reacts automatically.

Still, I feel a bit of heat rising in my body, more than usual.

Is it because I was reading a novel until the early morning?

When I was a student, I could stay up all night reading novels and still be fine at school, but now, just a few years older, I can feel the direct impact on my body, making me realize how much I've aged.

I didn't think much of it back then, but now, reflecting on it, I realize that being a student was indeed a good time.

Lately, the novels I've been reading are mostly about academies, and that's why.

Of course, I graduated from an all-boys school, so I never had the chance to interact with cute girls at school like in those novels, but I can't help but think that if I could experience such school life in my heart, it would be nice.

I was that much of an enthusiast for academy novels and would even follow less popular works in the genre.

The novel I finished reading until the early morning yesterday, "The Holy Swordmaster of the Academy," was one of those.

The constant adversities and the deaths of surrounding characters create a dark atmosphere, which I think buries the excellent writing and charming characters.

I usually prefer a lighter, more playful atmosphere, but I was quite engrossed in how the protagonist and the heroine overcame their adversities, and I finished the novel in one go.

And then I got a nasty surprise.

After overcoming so many adversities and reaching the final stage, the author put the protagonist and the heroine in an impossible predicament and ended the last chapter with:

"Could you save them?"

It was infuriating.

My inner reader instinct screamed to send a 5700-character protest email to that evil author, but as a genre novel enthusiast, I was too cautious to do so, fearing I might be kidnapped into the world of the novel, so I could only timidly write a comment: "Evan...?"

It's been a long time since I felt so unsatisfied after reading a conclusion, not since "This Kid is Laughing," and thinking about it still makes me angry.

Maybe that's why my body feels even hotter than before.

Deciding to take a shower, I opened my eyes and got up, but something made my eyes hurt.

Was the sunlight too strong? I squinted and looked down.

My body was on fire.

Literally, not figuratively.

I made a stupid "Eh?" sound, blinking to see if I was still dreaming, and watched my burning body for a moment.

Thinking I needed to put out the fire, I went to the bathroom and turned on the shower.

Then I was startled.

The water was freezing!

I quickly turned the lever to the left and waited for the water to warm up before showering dazedly, but the fire on my body wouldn't go out.

Was I going to turn into a Flaremon?

While having that thought, I felt something strange and glanced down, only to realize a shocking fact.

I was showering with my clothes on.

Why my body was on fire but my clothes were intact is a secondary issue; the fact that I was showering with my clothes on stabbed me in the heart.

As my mood sank, the flames that had been burning on my body suddenly went out with a "pfft."

Then, the curvaceous body I had been trying to ignore since I woke up came into full view.

I had a rough idea of the situation even when my body was on fire, but why did it have to be...

I tried to stay calm, turned off the water, and stood in front of the mirror by the bathroom sink.

In the mirror, a red-haired, red-eyed beautiful girl was reflected, her body clearly outlined by the wet clothes.

Normally, I would have marveled at such a beautiful and sexy appearance, but now that it was me, it felt different.

"Of all things, a TS..."

The good voice made my heart ache.

Being pulled into the world of a novel is a common cliché, but TS is a niche genre.

Especially in fantasy novels, it's impossible to live a normal life.

So, what's the point of being a TS...

What? Female corruption? I have no idea.

If I had ranted to the author, "I can't accept this ending!" or had a self-indulgent thought like, "If it were me, I could have done better..." I might have understood, but that wasn't the case.

Why did I have to go through this, even changing my gender?

Feeling defeated by reality, my body moved steadily.

I took off the wet clothes and dried my hair and body with a towel.

My hair was unnecessarily long, making it hard to dry.

After drying my body, I changed into the clothes hanging on the hanger.

It was the school uniform worn by the character on the cover of "The Holy Swordmaster of the Academy."

I felt a bit uncomfortable with the short skirt but ultimately had to conform to the norms.

The appropriately plump chest asserted that this was a woman's body.

Lifting the skirt slightly to check, I found it empty below.

Sighing, I put my hand in the skirt pocket and, as expected, found a student ID.

When I glanced at the student ID, I felt sparks fly through my hair.

It seems that my body catches fire when my emotions are intense.

I was quite angry right now.

The student ID showed the face I saw in the mirror and the name:

[Scarlet Evande]

"Evan..."

I was sure the author was a very timid person.

Author's Note:

I made some minor adjustments!
