Chapter 3 of 47

Chapter 3

8 min read1,945 words

I felt something touch my cheek and opened my eyes.

Had I been sleeping…? I slowly got up, stretching to loosen my stiff body.

“Phew…”

I took a deep breath and exhaled.

Alright, I’m in top form today!

“Wait, what…?”

Where am I?

“Oh! Right, I met God…!”

I had completely forgotten. I realized again that the conversation I had just had was not a dream but reality. Looking ahead, it was indeed the forest that God had mentioned. The trees swayed like gentle pastel colors, and the droplets on the leaves sparkled, reflecting the light after the rain.

I stood up and looked at my body. At 13, I was much smaller compared to my 21-year-old self. Instead of the oversized uniform from my part-time job, I was wearing clothes that fit my 13-year-old body. I wore a top with loose sleeves, a flared skirt that was slightly shorter than knee-length, which turned out to be culottes, high socks, and brown boots.

However, even though my body was smaller, my mind was still filled with the knowledge of a 21-year-old. I hoped I could live without any problems.

Fortunately, I had been doing household chores in place of my parents, who both worked, so I could handle the basics. Recently, I had been making a lot of sweets because Hana, who was tired of hospital food, kept asking me to make them.

I turned around and looked around. It wasn’t just a forest; behind me was a very large tree stump. Upon closer inspection, there was a door and windows on it, and a fence surrounded the tree stump.

“Is this the house God gave me?”

I was standing inside the fence, which meant this was the safe zone where the skill "God’s Garden" was active. I felt relieved that I wouldn’t be suddenly attacked by monsters.

The fence, which was about 30 meters wide, surrounded the house made from the tree stump, creating a somewhat large garden.

There were three small fields prepared, one of which had vegetables like tomatoes and peppers growing. The other two fields were just soil, with nothing planted.

About half of the garden was fields, and the other half was a wild, overgrown area.

“But… this tree stump is huge…”

Could there really be such large trees in this world, "Lethsheel"? I couldn’t even guess how many people it would take to circle this house.

I walked through the garden to the front of the house. To the side, there was a well, and around the house, colorful flowers were planted, making me feel a bit warmer.

Did God prepare this for me…?

My heart felt squeezed as I remembered God’s kiss on the back of my hand. My face must be very red right now…

“Um, I’m coming in…?”

I knew it was my house, but just in case it wasn’t and belonged to someone else, I gently opened the door. A small bell attached to the door chimed, announcing my arrival.

“Wow… it’s so cute…”

It felt like I had wandered into a fairy tale world, as if a little person lived here.

I turned around to look at the room, which was a typical one-room apartment. Just inside the entrance, on the left, there was a round wooden table with two chairs. Behind that was the kitchen, where more than half of the wall was a bookshelf. On the right side, opposite the table, there was a bed. Next to the bed was a door… the bathroom?

After taking a few steps inside and looking around the room, my eyes fell on a letter on the desk. The envelope was addressed to "Hinami," and on the back, God’s name "Rigris" was written.

Ah, so this is definitely my house. I gently opened the letter.

To Hinami,

If you’re reading this, it seems you’ve made it home safely.

I’ll explain about the house, which I didn’t have time to explain earlier.

First, there’s a bookshelf next to the bed.

There are only a few books now, but if you find something you like, you can add more. I’ve put three books in there. One is a "Swap Diary," so please write in it every day. The second is a book filled with the map and general knowledge of this world, "Lethsheel." The last one is a book that you’re most suited for, but I don’t know what it is, so you’ll have to find out yourself.

Next, about the kitchen.

I’ve only provided the basics, so please use them. However, unlike Japan, "Lethsheel" is a magical, fantasy world. Therefore, the fundamental concepts are different.

Things that were scientific on Earth are magical here. The faucet and stove are "magical devices" made using "magic stones." These are excellent tools that can be used without magic power. There should be a switch somewhere, so press it to use it.

Oh, and I’ve made sure the water can be properly drained.

Oh, I almost forgot something important. Points!

The "Swap Diary" explains how to earn points and what you can exchange them for. Refer to it and earn points for me.

Lastly…

I’m sorry for suddenly sending you to another world. But I’ll always be watching over you, so if anything happens, call me.

May you have a fortunate future…

Rigris

“God… thank you!”

I hugged God’s letter tightly.

Next, I looked at the bookshelf as God had instructed. Since there was a book that I was suited for, I decided to check it out. Before that, I opened the other door next to the bookshelf… yes, it was the bathroom. I was relieved to have it.

“Is this the book I’m suited for? …A pharmacology book?”

The book I picked up had a green cover with leaves and flowers on it.

Flipping through it, it seemed to be a book about making recovery potions and growing plants.

“Hmm… physical recovery potion, magic recovery potion. So these are recovery potions… When they get better, there are crimson recovery potions and deep-sea recovery potions.”

What is this? It seems to be a pharmacist’s role.

Incidentally, the materials were also listed.

【Physical Recovery Potion】

Physical Grass, Water, Bottle

【Magic Recovery Potion】

Blue Grass, Water, Bottle

【Crimson Recovery Potion】

Red Grass, Orange Grass, Water, Bottle

【Deep-Sea Recovery Potion】

Blue Grass, Magic Stone Powder, Magic Water, Bottle

What is this?

The materials are listed, but the method isn’t…? Oh, it’s there. I didn’t expect it to be on the last page…

“Bottle the materials except for the bottle, boil them overnight, cool them, and then extract the pure liquid to make the recovery potion. …Oh, that sounds difficult?”

What should I do?

I understand it’s going to be difficult. I’ll put the book back on the shelf for now. As I was about to close the book, the last sentence caught my eye, and I gasped in surprise.

“Oh! It says, ‘However, with God’s blessing, it can also be generated using a special method’!?”

The last sentence was written very small at the end of the book. I almost missed it.

Right, I remember God saying to check my status. I hurriedly cast "Status" and looked at "Rigris’s Blessing."

【Titles】

Blessing of God Rigris

“The skills have increased…! What is God’s blessing…?”

【Blessing of God Rigris】

You can write in the Swap Diary with God.

You can use the blessing skill "Angel’s Song."

【Angel’s Song】

You can play a melody and give power.

Effect: Promotes the growth of plants and minerals, shortens the synthesis process.

“…What is this? The skill name sounds grand, but the effect is very practical?”

This is it.

It seems I’m not meant to fight but to produce things.

But, to be honest, I’m not good at such violent things, so I’m relieved. In a world with monsters, I can’t fight with a sword. I can say that with certainty.

For now, if I’m suited for making recovery potions, it will be reassuring when I get injured. Also, I might be able to sell them to make money.

“Then, the kitchen is cute but mysterious…”

The kitchen was a cute pink color with a mushroom-patterned kitchen mat neatly laid out. There was a cutting board, a knife, a pot, and a frying pan. A few plates and cups were on the shelf next to it.

In the place that seemed to be the stove, there was a stone like a trivet. It was circular with a flame drawn in the center. I noticed a transparent stone with a flame drawn on it just in front of it. I touched it hesitantly, and flames rose from the circular stone.

“Wow! This is amazing…!!”

This is magic… or rather, a magical device, I suppose.

Next to it, there was a sink-like depression. This must be a magical device like a faucet. Upon closer inspection, there was a pot on the sink with a small plant with flowers. The leaves of the plant had a water droplet pattern. I touched it with hopeful eyes, and water overflowed from the small flower.

“Fantasy!!”

I couldn’t help but exclaim.

But, water coming from a flower is a bit… amazing and cute! I can cook and eat here. The kitchen is so cute that it almost feels like a waste for me. I’ll use it carefully. Thank you, God.

Next, I decided to check the Swap Diary.

I sat on the bed and opened the Swap Diary. The first page explained how to earn points.

【Points: 0】

【Swap Diary】 3

【Basic Recovery Potion Synthesis】 1

【Intermediate Recovery Potion Synthesis】 2

【Advanced Recovery Potion Synthesis】 3

【Special Recovery Potion Synthesis】 5

【Monster Defeat: D】 5

【Monster Defeat: C】 10

【Monster Defeat: A】 50

【Monster Defeat: S】 100

【Monster Defeat: Demon King】 ∞

【Other: Special】 Appropriate points as needed

【As you can do more, the items will increase accordingly】

I see… I can earn points by writing in the Swap Diary and synthesizing recovery potions! If so, I should be able to earn points somehow. Then, I noticed something. 【Monster Defeat: Demon King】 ∞ What is this…? Well, I’ll pretend I didn’t see it.

Next, I checked what I could exchange for points.

【Points: 0】

【Cultivation Kit】 10

【Small Pot】 1

【Vegetable Seed Set】 10

【Herb Seed Set】 10

【100 Bottles】 3

【Bath】 30

【Room】 50

【Roof】 50

【Basement】 10

【As you can do more, the items will increase accordingly】

“Oh… a bath…!!”

There aren’t many items to exchange for, but there’s a bath. This is something I need to get immediately, isn’t it…!? But, 30 points. I have 0 points now…

For now, I’ll write today’s diary and earn 3 points.

But, it will take 10 days to save up 30 points… That’s too difficult. There must be some way to solve this. I’ll write about it in the diary and ask God a bit.

I wrote in the Swap Diary, thanking God for helping the flower and describing what I felt today.

I wrote about how beautiful the forest was and how moved I was, the new skills, and how cute the house was. I also asked, a bit presumptuously, if there were any tips for earning points.

I plan to rest today and start living from tomorrow.

Since it’s the first day, I wrote three parts…

How was it…? I’m trembling.

I would be happy to receive any comments, evaluations, or feedback.

I plan to post two parts at 4 PM tomorrow!
