I often go out into the city and walk a lot, so today I’m wearing a dress, a jacket, a cross-body pouch, and T-strap shoes.
The dress is apparently in vogue with frills at the neckline and hem, and I chose a very pale pink knee-length frilly dress, a cocoa pink jacket, white lace stockings, and the shoes and pouch are said to be a deep brown, but I’m not sure what “a deep brown” means. I got ready with makeup suitable for the city.
It seems that Lord Percival stands out no matter what, and today he’s dressed very casually in a dark gray shirt, white pants, and black and white leather shoes (apparently called saddle shoes), and we met in front of the pouch.
“Mimosa! ……………………”
“Please don’t suddenly go into brain freeze, Lord Percival.”
Lord Percival, who had been waiting, turned around at the sound of my footsteps coming down the stairs, then covered his eyes and looked up to the sky.
I thought I was used to his brain freeze, but it’s troublesome if it starts before we even go out. At the same time, I found it a little cute.
I think I have an ordinary face, and my figure isn’t particularly good. However, I pay attention to my clothes, makeup, hairstyle, and skincare, and the maids are also considerate.
Thanks to this, I can accept that Lord Percival finds me cute. If it were just an act, that would be a problem, but I believe it’s not.
I approached and gently pulled his hand, the one not covering his face, with both of mine to make him look at me. Seeing his troubled eyes peeking out from under his hand, I decided to smile.
“Come on, let’s go. Let’s have fun.”
“...Yeah, let’s have fun. Sorry, be careful in the city.”
“...It’s okay because you’re cute, so it’s fine sometimes.”
I whispered this in a small voice, then led the brain-frozen Lord Percival to the carriage. The driver must have felt very awkward.
The central part of the capital is divided into four large districts. The north has the castle, the mansions of border barons and dukes, and high-end stores. The west has the mansions of earls and high-ranking officials and somewhat high-end stores. The east has the mansions of viscounts and barons who are not as high-ranking in the castle and stores of a slightly lower rank. The south has hotels, restaurants, and stores that citizens can visit if they try a bit. Many large merchants also have their mansions here.
Further south, the city spreads out around the central area, which is where the citizens live.
Basically, commoners and nobles don’t move far from the district they were born in. If I hadn’t gotten married, I wouldn’t have ended up living in the western district. The exceptions would be work or social events like evening parties and tea parties.
The Royal Guard is primarily responsible for protecting the royal family but also patrols the noble district as part of their training.
By the time we finished talking, we had arrived in the eastern district. This is my territory (limited to book-related places), so I took Lord Percival’s hand.
“Let’s go, Lord Percival.”
