"No, I'm glad you came. I heard that Miss Casablanca is frail, but there's no danger to her life...?"

"Ah! Yes! That's right! I'm in your care! My sister, if she rests, will be fine... Yes."

For now, I was given a spacious room and a trunk containing only a change of clothes and my favorite books. I spent the time until dinner putting my clothes in the closet and arranging them on the desk. The maid, Lucia, helped me, so it was done quickly. The rest of my luggage is supposed to arrive tomorrow if I'm not sent away.

Although I came as a bride, I'm wearing a rather dull, beige dress with a brooch, a somewhat unrefined outfit. In my mind, I expected to be turned away today.

But since I've been accepted, I must do my best as a bride! At least, I'm glad I didn't inherit my mother's habit of extravagance.

If I show the sister the transformed, glittering young man from the engagement letter, she'll probably say something like, 'I'll be instantly healthy, it's a miracle of God,' and kick me out as a bride.

However, the arrangement has already been made in writing between my father and the earl. It can't be undone, and if it's discovered that I lied to get out of the engagement, it could be dangerous.

The other party is the commander of the Royal Guard, who is in the good graces of His Majesty the King. If I mess this up, it could affect my entire family. My father, unusually, had strictly forbidden my sister from social activities for a while.

"Please eat without hesitation, Mimosa. I hope it suits your taste?"

"Thank you...!"

Lost in thought, I was prompted by the earl's wife and immediately took a spoonful of the soup. The rich aroma and sweetness of the corn, yet the texture was completely smooth with no grit.

I could drink this soup endlessly.

Earl Chaltry, with his gray hair combed back and a mustache, is a distinguished gentleman, and the earl's wife, though she has a gentle appearance, is a sophisticated lady with light blonde hair.

While trying to answer the topics they brought up, I used my limited social skills to compliment the food.

I won't say the food I've eaten before was bad, but this is simply delicious. It's not too rich or greasy, yet it's not just the flavor of the ingredients. It's truly delicious.

I also conversed with the future Earl Chaltry, who sits across from me. For now, we're not close enough to call each other by name, so I address them as Earl, Lady, and Future Earl.

"Mimosa, your luggage will arrive tomorrow, right? Can I help you unpack? I want to become closer to you as a woman."

"Huh, eh?! Ah, yes, of course, I would be very happy if you could help me."

The lady is very kind to me, despite my shyness and stammering.

However, this was the lady's trap... I missed the earl and the future earl exchanging troubled glances while I was eating.
