"Alright, let's keep only two dresses and get rid of the rest!"

After finishing my morning preparations and breakfast, a carriage loaded with my personal belongings from my home arrived.

The lady, who originally had more books than dresses, said with a smile, "Let's keep only two dresses and get rid of the rest!"

In the room, which was decorated in light blue and white, there was a large white bookshelf with doors from the beginning, and all the books were neatly stored there. The maid's skill in arranging them in order of author and publication was impressive.

While this was happening, the lady looked at the clothes that had arrived and said the aforementioned line with a cheerful expression.

I can't say I was foolish, but it's true that due to my lack of interest in clothes, I only had plain dresses like the ones I wore yesterday.

If I am to become the next countess, it is indeed important not to embarrass my future husband, the next count.

The lady must have immediately seen this from my clothing. Even though she is nearly forty, she is youthful, beautiful, and fashionable, so it was easy for her to gauge the quality of the clothes I owned.

When I laid out the dresses on the bed and sofa, it turned out that they were all plain in color and old in style, not matching the room's interior at all.

"Well, let's go shopping this afternoon and get some custom-made ones as well. I said two for a change of clothes, but..."

She put her hand to her cheek thoughtfully.

"Um... Whose dresses are we going to buy this afternoon?"

"Yours, of course. No, you mustn't! Youth is fleeting, so you have to dress up a lot! And we'll also get some cosmetics and go to the beauty salon."

"U-uh, yes!"

I thought it was for my future husband's sake, but when she said it was for me, I felt a sense of guilt.

I can't become as beautiful as Mother or my sisters, no matter how much I dress up... This is a deep-seated complex that seeps through.

"Look, this lilac dress is lovely. And this pastel yellow one too. It has a floral pattern on the base, which is cute."

She decided to keep the two formal dresses that I hardly ever wore, and the rest, despite having issues with color and style, were well-maintained in terms of sewing and fabric, so they would be sent to the orphanage.

Thus, I had to say goodbye to most of my dresses, and I was made to wear the pastel yellow dress by the lady, and we set out for the town in the afternoon.

I hardly ever go to town, except to buy books!

In front of the lady's gentle but firm smile, I could only follow the carriage, swaying along...

The countess is formidable...!
