Just as Lin Yu finished speaking, the clinic was once again filled with that strange crying sound.

Jiang Yan and the young couple were in a panic. The child, who had just calmed down, suddenly started crying violently again, her face contorted in agony, and she kept scratching the young woman with her hands.

"Director Jiang, please take a look, what's going on?" The young woman, holding the child's hands, said anxiously.

Jiang Yan's face turned pale. She kept patting the child's back to soothe her, her mind in turmoil. She had just gotten better, why did this happen again?

At this moment, the child suddenly stopped crying and began to convulse violently. Her eyes rolled back, and she foamed at the mouth, her chest heaving violently, clearly struggling to breathe.

Jiang Yan's face turned even paler. She quickly picked up the child and laid her down on the bed, performing CPR.

The bespectacled doctor was so frightened that he didn't dare to breathe. This situation could be fatal, and he might be implicated.

"Director Jiang, please save my daughter!" The young woman, seeing her daughter's face turn even paler, was terrified and fell to the ground, sobbing.

"You incompetent doctor! Can you even treat her?" The young man, also in a panic, suddenly lost his composure and started yelling, "If anything happens to my daughter, I'll make you pay with your life!"

Jiang Yan was drenched in cold sweat, continuously performing chest compressions and artificial respiration on the child, but to no avail. The child's eyes were tightly closed, her face turning blue, and she was motionless, seemingly on the brink of death.

Jiang Yan's hands trembled with tension. She had never encountered such a situation in her years of practice.

"I'll kill you!"

Seeing the child's condition worsening, the young man lost his mind and lunged at Jiang Yan.

The bespectacled doctor mustered the courage to intervene, but his frail body was no match. He was kicked to the corner, and the young man slapped Jiang Yan.

Jiang Yan's eyelashes trembled in fear, but seeing no way to avoid it, she braced herself.

However, the expected slap never came. Jiang Yan looked up to see the young man's hand firmly held by a powerful grip.

Lin Yu had somehow positioned himself in front of her.

"Violence solves nothing." Lin Yu pushed the young man's hand away.

"My daughter was killed by this incompetent doctor!" The young man, red-eyed, pointed at Jiang Yan and roared like a wild beast.

"As long as I'm here, your daughter won't die." Lin Yu said firmly.

Looking at Lin Yu's determined expression, Jiang Yan felt a strange sense of security, though she couldn't understand why.

How could this good-for-nothing make her feel this way?

"Fine, then you treat her. If you fail, I'll kill all of you!" The young man yelled, seemingly out of his mind.

Lin Yu ignored him and turned to check the little girl's pulse.

"What are you doing? You can't treat her!" Jiang Yan pulled Lin Yu aside and whispered harshly.

"I never told you, but I used to sneak and read some of your medical books. I know a bit." Lin Yu lied.

"Nonsense, reading a few books won't make you a doctor!" Jiang Yan, while speaking, was already dialing 120, though she knew it would only be to transport a corpse.

While she was talking, Lin Yu had already lifted the little girl by her feet, his right hand forming a specific shape, and gently patted her back twice.

"What are you doing!" The young man yelled.

Before he could finish, the little girl, who had been unconscious, suddenly coughed, spitting out a mouthful of black phlegm, and then started crying again, though weakly due to prolonged oxygen deprivation.

Lin Yu then held the little girl upright and pressed his thumb lightly on the side of her neck, and her breathing instantly became smoother.

However, the little girl continued to cry and scratch Lin Yu, her face contorted in apparent hatred.

Lin Yu didn't flinch, his eyes fixed on the little girl, his deep gaze burning with a fiery light.

This was a soul-breaking technique passed down from his ancestors. At a certain level, a single glance could scatter the souls of lesser spirits.

Lin Yu was now certain that the little girl was possessed by a malevolent spirit, which, unlike him, intended to kill her.

Although Lin Yu's cultivation was still shallow, the little girl, seeing the light in his eyes, immediately calmed down, her eyes filled with terror.

She then struggled, jumped off Lin Yu, and ran to her mother, who was sitting on the ground, and hugged her neck, saying obediently, "Mom, I'm better, let's go home."

Seeing their daughter return to normal, the young couple was overjoyed, hugging each other and crying with relief.

Jiang Yan's heart, which had been in her throat, finally relaxed. She felt a bit guilty, wondering why she hadn't realized the child was choking on phlegm.

She then looked at Lin Yu with a mix of anger and gratitude. This good-for-nothing had actually stood up for her, unlike his usual behavior of hiding behind her. Clearly, his head injury had affected him.

"Your daughter is fine for now, but I only treated the symptoms. To cure her completely, she needs acupuncture." Lin Yu said, looking at the little girl.

"No, Mom, I don't want acupuncture. I'm already better." The little girl looked at Lin Yu with fear.

"You're talking nonsense!"

Jiang Yan walked over and whispered harshly, annoyed that this good-for-nothing didn't know when to stop.

The young man glanced at Lin Yu coldly, showing no gratitude, and said, "You want us to trust you? I'd rather my daughter die."

"Don't say I didn't warn you. If anything happens, don't blame me."

Lin Yu frowned, displeased. He had just saved the girl's life, and the man's attitude was terrible.

"Fuck you, you're cursing my daughter!" The young man stood up, ready to attack, but his wife pulled him back.

The young man, suppressing his anger, picked up his daughter and left, throwing a cold remark, "My brother-in-law is the deputy director of the Health Bureau. Your clinic is in trouble."

The young woman glanced at Jiang Yan, said nothing, and quickly followed.

Jiang Yan felt a pang of sadness. They had always thanked her for treating their child, but now, with a minor incident, they had turned into enemies.

"Human nature is fickle, don't take it to heart." Lin Yu, sensing her thoughts, offered a gentle consolation.

"For areas you're not familiar with, don't pretend to know!" Jiang Yan, unappreciative, gave him a cold look and went back to work.

"Good luck."

The bespectacled doctor, who had been kicked by the young man, straightened his clothes and gave Lin Yu a disdainful look.

What kind of people were in this clinic? He had just helped them out.

Lin Yu was speechless, suddenly wishing he could die again and possess someone else, anyone but this good-for-nothing.

The young couple, with their child, rushed home. The young man kept cursing, saying this wasn't over, while his wife tried to calm him, reminding him of the help Director Jiang had given them before.

"Rubbish! I told you to go to the People's Hospital, and you almost killed Xin Xin!" The young man raged, "And that idiot husband of hers, cursing our daughter. If it weren't for his lucky guess, I would have slapped him!"

He then called his brother-in-law at the Health Bureau, exaggerating the incident.

The young woman, Sun Min, and her husband, Wu Jianguo, came from a wealthy family, so they were somewhat arrogant.

Her father, Wu Jinyuan, had been the director of the Qinghai City Health Bureau and had just retired two years ago. Because of his influence, her brother-in-law had become the deputy director. He was confident that one call would shut down the Huaan Clinic.

Wu Jinyuan and his wife were already frantic at home, their granddaughter being their beloved treasure.

When Wu Jianguo and his wife brought the child home, the grandparents rushed to hug her, relieved to find her normal.

But before they could celebrate, the child's eyes rolled back, and she began convulsing again, her chest heaving, struggling to breathe.

Wu Jianguo and his wife, along with the grandparents, were terrified and rushed to the Qinghai City People's Hospital.

After the child was taken to the emergency room, Wu Jianguo angrily accused Jiang Yan of harming his daughter.

Wu Jinyuan, his face ashen, said nothing, staring at the emergency room, believing his granddaughter would be fine because the deputy director, Li Haoming, a renowned internal medicine expert, was treating her.

In all of Qinghai City, few could get him to perform surgery personally.

But Li Haoming came out of the room in a hurry, sweating profusely, and said, "Mr. Wu, I've never seen this before. The child might not... survive..."

Sun Min and her mother-in-law collapsed into the chairs, sobbing.

"How is that possible!" Wu Jianguo jumped up, yelling at Li Haoming, "If you can't save my daughter, you shouldn't be a deputy director!"

"Jianguo!" Wu Jinyuan scolded his son, trying to hold back his own grief, "Is there no hope at all?"

Li Haoming nodded solemnly, "With our hospital's capabilities, we can only keep her alive for another hour."

He was implying that it was too late to transfer her to Beijing.

Wu Jinyuan knew that if Li Haoming couldn't help, it was futile to go anywhere else.

"Father, I know how to save Xin Xin!"

Wu Jianguo, heartbroken, described how Lin Yu had treated his daughter at the clinic.

Li Haoming, not wasting a moment, rushed in and tried the method, but it had no effect.

"This can't be!" Wu Jianguo was stunned, beads of sweat rolling down his face.

Sun Min, remembering Lin Yu's warning, stopped crying and told her father and Li Haoming about it.

"Mr. Wu, I suggest we bring this young man here. He might have a solution." Li Haoming, hoping for a chance, said.

Sun Min glanced at Wu Jianguo and cautiously mentioned the conflict with Lin Yu.

"Ridiculous! I told you to be calm!"

Wu Jinyuan kicked Wu Jianguo, shouting, "Hurry up and apologize!"

He then ran out, Wu Jianguo following closely.

Jiang Yan was busy treating patients, while Lin Yu sat idly, reading a magazine. The nurses and doctors looked at him with disdain.

What kind of man was he, letting his wife work so hard while he did nothing?

Suddenly, a sharp braking sound was heard outside. A white van, marked with the Health Supervision logo, stopped in front of the clinic.

Several men in Health Bureau uniforms got out, led by Wu Jianguo's brother-in-law, Deng Chengbin. He waved his hand and said, "Search, thoroughly!"
