This is the Demon Creation episode.
"Alright, break's over. I'll do the fine adjustments to the dungeon later, but first, let's start with the Demon Creation!"
As I activate the skill, a semi-transparent screen and keyboard appear before my eyes, just like when I created the Labyrinth. The screen displays a black mist-like something... or rather, this is me myself.
So, let me explain my appearance and an objective overview.
- The King of the Corrupting Black Mist
The Demon King of the Labyrinth (Name Unset).
Has two forms: mist form and human form.
In mist form, it is just a collection of black mist. In human form, it has black hair, black eyes, and wears black attire, with skin as tanned as if from a summer beach.
Due to lack of information, there is no further data available.
"…Yeah, sure. Well, that makes sense. It's only been less than a day, so there's no way there would be detailed descriptions yet."
I feel a bit disappointed, but I'll let it slide for now.
"Alright, let's start by creating what I can."
I operate the keyboard to bring up the screen to select the monsters to summon.
There is one monster displayed. It seems I have to start with this one.
"Before I create it, I'll check the available information."
I call up the monster's description and read it.
- Fog
A mischievous, humanoid spirit-type demon, about 30 cm tall.
Its body is composed of a thin mist-like magic.
It is weak but can proliferate indefinitely as long as there is magic in the air.
Summoning Cost: 1 MP per unit
This seems like a blue, amorphous creature from a certain national RPG... Well, Fog, meaning mist, fits my characteristics since I am made of mist myself.
"Let's start with... 100 units since it only consumes MP."
A magic circle appears around me as my magic power drains, and 100 Fogs are created with a burst of light. Then,
"Ha ha ha!" "Yay, yay!" "Zoom, zoom!"
It's incredibly noisy. I don't know if they will follow my instructions, but I tell them to either be quiet or leave the area.
Naturally, they all went somewhere. At least I confirmed they can follow my instructions, so that's good.
"Now, the demons that can be created... Yeah, there are more."
- Thin Mist Wolf
A wolf-type demon, about 1 meter long.
It is always enveloped in a thin mist, making it difficult to detect depending on the situation.
Summoning Cost: 5 HP, MP, SP per unit
- Marsh Flying Fish
A fish-type flying demon, about 0.7 meters long.
It lurks in marshes and attacks prey with a body slam or a sharp fin, with a speed exceeding 100 km/h.
Summoning Cost: 3 HP, SP per unit
Creation Prerequisite: Existence of a marsh or similar environment
- Disrupting Water Dragonfly Nymph
An insect-type nymph demon, about 1 meter long.
It lurks in water and attacks prey by firing water pellets that disrupt balance, then eats the flesh. It evolves into a Disrupting Water Dragonfly upon growth.
Summoning Cost: 7 HP, MP, SP per unit
Creation Prerequisite: Existence of water or similar environment
Now, how to create them. I can't really know the details until I actually see them... I'll create 30 of each type for now.
"Let's do it."
As I say this, a magic circle appears around me again, and the demons are created with a burst of light. Here are my impressions of each:
Thin Mist Wolf: The mist makes it hard to see the details, but it looks incredibly fluffy. I couldn't help but pet one when it came out. Those soft fur and big, round eyes! Plus, it purrs and rubs against me when I get close! Adorable is definitely justice!
Marsh Flying Fish: I had it fly as a test, and it was really fast. I think it would be quite scary to suddenly appear from the mist at that speed.
Disrupting Water Dragonfly Nymph: Creepy. No, it was unexpectedly creepy. I realized that insects are tolerable at that size. After seeing it, I petted a Thin Mist Wolf to soothe my heart.
Now that I've given my impressions, I'll release these demons into the dungeon like I did with the Fogs.
Hmm? Their food? It seems they can survive as long as there is magic, just like me. They need to eat meat to grow or increase in number, but I'll forbid cannibalism. It seems it would only reduce their numbers without any benefit.
"Alright, I've summoned everything for now. My HP is still fine, so let's proceed with the dungeon adjustments."
--------------
After that, I spent some time creating a rest area at the entrance to prevent the mist from leaking out, making an airlock-like structure to easily control the number of people, deciding to call myself Kurokiri to the outside world, setting up trees and vines that can grow in marshes, setting up several traps and enemies, petting Thin Mist Wolves, holding a petting festival by increasing their numbers, and upgrading the number of demons and the terrain effects.
Before I knew it, a year had passed since I became the Demon King.
