Chapter 30 of 100
Chapter 30
4 min read927 words
A few days had passed since Adele's recruitment, and the task of making Mana Potions for the government was down to just a few more.
Then, it was lunch break, so the three of us and one pet ate the lunch boxes Erika had made.
"You can do it when you put your mind to it, huh?"
"Indeed. This is all thanks to Sieg."
The two of them nodded as they looked at the dozens of Mana Potions in the wooden box.
"It's the result of your hard work. More than that, with your skills, you can do this much."
This was my line after being reborn.
"What was the first thing that came to mind?"
Leonor asked.
"It's only natural to be able to do it. If you can't, you should return to level 10... How about that? It's the worst, right?" "Hmm, the words are indeed strong."
"Yes, but it's the truth, I guess."
What we were doing was that the two disciples said they would help correct my personality, so I was confirming their thoughts.
"I didn't really talk much to my colleagues or classmates, so I don't think I actually said those words. But I think I felt that way and showed it in my attitude."
"Well, I think it's better to fix it."
"I know Sieg is trying hard to change and is a kind and good person, but if someone said that to me for the first time, I think many people would be on guard."
Well... Is Erika okay?
"Maybe I should fix it before Adele comes..."
After finishing lunch, I started reading the book I bought yesterday.
"Having the right attitude is important... 'Oh...' 'That's amazing...' 'Where did you buy that?' 'I'm interested in that too...' 'Can you show me next time?'"
Are you saying these things?
"Um, what is that?"
Erika asked, looking at the book I was reading.
"I thought it might be helpful, so I bought it at the bookstore. The clerk recommended it."
"Oh... Um, the title seems to be a bit off, doesn't it?"
The title reads: "How to Get Along with Women: A Guide to Talking to Women."
"Is that so? When I told the clerk I wanted to talk better with my colleagues, they recommended it."
"Why is it limited to women?"
"You're all women, right?"
Of course, Adele is a woman too.
"Sieg, isn't this a book on how to flirt with women or something?"
"Is it?"
"Given that it's limited to women, it is. The clerk probably thought you had a crush on someone at work."
I see.
Well...
"Oh... Leonor, you're amazing..."
"You don't have to practice it..."
"Hmm..."
I flipped through the pages and read on.
"You shouldn't confess immediately. Confession is just the final confirmation, so it's important to build a relationship up to that point. So, it's okay to have a physical relationship first... No, this is bad."
It's really a pickup book.
"I think Sieg shouldn't read this."
Erika shook her head, looking troubled.
"Let me see, let me see."
"Here."
I stood up and handed the book to Leonor.
"Hmm..."
Leonor read the book.
"Maybe I should ask Helen."
"That's right. Leave it to me. For men, confidence, cleanliness, and a sudden show of kindness are important. Sieg, you're confident and cool, but you lack kindness. Even if you're gruff, showing a little kindness will make them fall for you. It's all about the contrast, the contrast."
Hmm, I feel like what Helen is saying is a bit off too.
"Isn't that just your preference?"
"All women are like that!"
"Are you saying that?"
I looked at Erika.
"Hmm, I can't say that all women are like that, but I can't deny it either... I like someone who can lead me. I'm a bit slow."
Indeed, she is slow.
"Erika, you're fine. I'm the leader, after all."
I'm leading her.
"You're reliable."
Yes, yes.
"How about Leonor?"
"Sieg, you invited me to your room the other day, but it wasn't for that, right?"
Huh?
"What are you talking about?"
"Well, according to this book, inviting a woman to your home is okay..."
That's a bad book.
"Erika was there too. Besides, you should throw this book away."
I bought it myself, but it's not a good book.
"Book lovers can't throw away books. I'll keep it. It might be useful someday."
Leonor stood up and put the pickup book in the sacred bookshelf where alchemy-related books and materials were stored.
"I can't imagine a day when it will be useful."
"You never know. There are good things written in it too. It says to always give compliments. This is good for both men and women, right?"
Complimenting...
It might be good.
There's a saying that praise helps people grow.
"Indeed. Leonor is really smart. So, study. The exam is only a month away."
"I know... It's a delicate line. Teach me after dinner."
"Sure."
I cut quite a bold figure with Adele, and it would be a problem if she failed.
"Um, I also have trouble with alchemy reactions..."
I think Erika will pass, but...
"Sure."
I can't discourage her, and since she has treated me to so many meals, I can't refuse. Besides, we study in Erika's room.
Okay, okay... I know I shouldn't say that out loud.
