Chapter 31

After finishing lunch and resuming work, it took a little over an hour to complete the two mana potions.
"Done!"
"Good job!"
"Great work."
I praised the two of them while looking at the blade being crafted.
"How's yours coming along?"
"Well, it's a bit scary, isn't it?"
It would be scary to see a colleague staring at a naked sword.
That's why I keep saying we need a private room...
But I can't really suggest that to these guys.
"Mine's going well too. How about the mana potions? From what I can see, they're all at least E-rank, so I think we can deliver them now."
"You were really paying attention, huh?"
"You're a good teacher."
I left it to you, but I was worried.
"Yeah, it wasn't bad, and it went smoothly towards the end. I think it's beyond the 10th-grade level now."
It's important to give praise...
"Is that so?"
"Ah, you're blushing."
It's really effective...
That pickup book is amazing.
"So, what now?"
"Since we're in a hurry, let's go deliver them."
"Well, it's still just after noon."
It's only a little past two.
"Alright, let's go. I'll carry them."
Saying that, I put down the magic sword I was crafting, stood up, and stored the wooden box containing the mana potions using spatial magic.
"Sieghart, you're really amazing. Not just in alchemy, but in magic too."
"Of course."
"Hmm, praising you doesn't seem to have much effect."
Ah, Leonora is also putting the pickup book into practice.
"Still, Erika is the most excellent. Her cooking is perfect."
"Sure. She's smart and can handle housework. Truly, a perfect woman."
Erika and I, who were joking, praised her.
"Guys, let's forget about that book... It's definitely not a good book..."
Erika whispered, her cheeks blushing.
It seems to be effective on Erika.
"Sorry. Let's go."
"Okay."
"Ah, I'll come too."
For some reason, all three of us left the branch and headed to the nearby government office.
When we arrived, we went to the reception desk on the far right.
"Mr. Rübert."
Erika called out to Rübert, who was writing something.
"Ah, Erika and Sieghart. And Leonora, you're back."
Rübert looked at Leonora with a gentle smile.
"Welcome back. It was a productive trip."
"That's good to hear. So, what brings all three of you here?"
"We've brought the 50 mana potions for the emergency request."
Erika took the wooden box out of spatial magic and placed it on the counter.
"Really? You're done already?"
"Yes. Sieghart taught us, and we worked hard together."
"That's fast. But what about the magic herbs? They weren't available at the market, right?"
Are they still not available?
I haven't been to the market, so I don't know.
"Mr. Rübert, we're alchemists. Since ancient times, alchemists have gathered their own materials."
As Leonora said, in the past, many alchemists did that.
Now, it's completely divided, but alchemists, being mages, often had the ability to use magic like me.
"Did you go outside? It's dangerous."
"It's fine. Sieghart is a 5th-grade mage, and we're also mages."
We were stopped by the gatekeeper, though.
"Hmm, be careful. Well, let me check them."
Rübert started checking the mana potions in the wooden box.
"They're all of good quality."
Rübert nodded as he checked each one.
"From my assessment, there are 3 C-rank, 35 D-rank, and 12 E-rank potions."
"That's impressive. It was faster than the deadline, so no need to color them."
Lucky.
Much more conscientious than some lieutenant.
Really, it's a relief to have such a client.
"Mr. Rübert, I've joined, and we're planning to add another member soon. Erika and Leonora will likely pass the 9th-grade exam next time. If you have any requests, please consider us. Of course, we're still short-handed, but we'll do our best."
Sales, sales.
"Really? That would be a great help. The private sector is expensive."
"It's our fault for not having enough credibility, but it would have been better if you had assigned this request to us from the start. Then the magic herbs wouldn't have disappeared from the market."
While I'm at it, let's bring down the private sector...
I'm good at this kind of thing.
"Understood. To be honest, we were really taken advantage of with this emergency request."
"It's because it's a private request. We're a public institution, so we have a fixed price range and can't do that. If we can be of help, please let us know."
"Thank you. I'll look into it and get back to you."
"Alright. We'll work on the current requests we have."
Good, good.
It's important to show a good face to good clients.
I've grown.
"Okay... Yes, there are 50 potions, all E-rank or higher. I'll contact you when the official payment is decided. Thank you."
"Thank you very much."
"Thank you."
"Thanks."
After completing the delivery, we left the government office and headed back to the branch.
"Sieghart, you're really good at sales!"
"Sure! I bought a book on it."
I read it yesterday.
It says it's good to highlight our competence while subtly bringing down the competition.
"Sieghart, you're a studious person!"
"...Is this guy putting the pickup book into practice?"
I asked Leonora.
"Erika has always been like that. It's something she was born with, I guess."
Born with pickup skills... No, that's not right.
"Whatever. We've finished the urgent work, so the two of you go back to making bricks and ingots. I'll finish the magic sword and join you."
"Understood!"
"Feeling productive, huh?"
It's just that we were idle before.
Thank you for reading.
