His butt is about to split

The entrance of this alley was quite narrow, less than a meter wide. But it had a very long path.

Nannan came in sneakily following two people. Ah, to be more accurate, it was those two men who entered this alley sneakily.

Right now he felt they were really weird. Everyone had looked at his panther with eyes filled with fear before. But those two? They barely glanced at it. Not even a shred of curiosity showed on their faces.

And when he was passing by them just now, he heard them say some very suspicious words.

Ghost Doctor?

Were they talking about his mother? How could they know that his mother was in the City of Jiang to the point that they even came to this place searching specifically for her?

Nannan rubbed his chin thoughtfully. He felt that these two strangers were a bit off, making his alertness soar to its peak in an instant.

Seeing the two men walk in through the backdoor of a restaurant at the end of the alleyway, Nannan was even more sure that those two were up to no good. How can a real man choose to enter the backdoor instead of going righteously through the front door of a restaurant?

“That isn’t right. I must tell my mother about it. Uhum, if she gets to know such big news from me, she’ll surely treat me with enough admiration to give me some copper coins.”

Speaking those words, he walked out of the alley stealthy like a cat.

Mo Xian at this time was standing next to the panther when he heard sounds coming from inside of the alley. He proceeded to jump over a roof when the little guy came from inside of it and started climbing on the panther’s back again. Afterwards, he departed towards the north of the city.

Nannan this time stopped delaying his trip, travelling straight towards the inn where he and his mother were staying.

Mo Xian let out a relieved breath. Thinking ‘everything was finally getting back on track’. Otherwise, with that kid’s stomach capacity, he wasn’t sure whether he would go around causing more troubles to others for more food.

However, he celebrated it so too soon.

Half an hour later, inside the inn.

“W-what?! You said that my mother hasn’t come back in two nights?”

The shopkeeper was tremblingly looking at the scary panther under the boy, having a difficult time in answering the boy’s questioning: “Y-y-yes, she never came back. L-little master, were you not with your mother?”

Nannan’s face cracked in an instant. He became listless, not even bothering to answer the shopkeeper’s question.

At the same time, a figure stood over the beans of the inn, looking down at the two, it was Mo Xian, whose expression crumpled as soon as he heard the shopkeeper. Things didn’t go as expected. Giving it a thought, Nannan had been staying in the Mo residence for two days already, so how could his mother stay still in the inn? She must have gone about to search for Nannan. Now it looks like this turned out troublesome.

The shopkeeper softened at Nannan’s pitiful expression, like someone that was abandoned. After all, he was a very likeable kid that had been staying in this inn for a while. So, he boldly gave a step forward and whispered some comforting words: “Little master, don’t be too sad. I believe your mother will be back soon.”

“Hah, shopkeeper uncle, you don’t get it. Hah, I’m sad because my mom is a woman. To stay out for two nights in a row like that, just what type of woman is she turning into?”

“…” the shopkeeper opened his mouth, embarrassed at those words.

Mo Xian almost planted from over the beans. This little bastard was so shameless. To even say such unsightly things about his own mother… it really made other’s exhausted.

“Little master, you see. Why not do it this way, go to your room and rest first. Maybe your mother will be back sooner than we think.” The most important was to take him out of here, he rode such a big black panther and ended up blocking the entrance of the inn. Because of that, no guests dared to go in and out of the building, and that would certainly affect his business.

Nannan raised his head to glance at him. Pursing his lips slightly he shook his head. “Forget it, I’ll go out and find my mother. Hah, to think that I have such an unreliable mother.”

Mo Xian suddenly sympathized with the little guy’s mother, he could guess that if she was here she might faint out of anger due to her son’s words. When he meets her, he will certainly be friendly and kind to her, yeah. This should be the best way of expressing his apologies.

Nannan patted the panther’s head, leading it to walk out of the inn again.

There was still a lot of people paying attention to them, but Nannan wasn’t in the mood to show off anymore.

However, he had no idea where to begin to look for her, so he could only wander around aimlessly.

The sky gradually went dark, the sunset in the distance had almost disappeared on the horizon.

Nannan didn’t show any hastiness. But Mo Xian, who was following behind him, was becoming worried seeing that the panther was becoming irritable.

Nannan couldn’t understand, but he did. He knew that the panther had a regular feeding time. Today was an exception as he hasn’t seen it eat a single bite the whole day. A hungry panther would turn into an angry one, and he was afraid it would go out of control soon.

Mo Xian was deep in thought. Should he show up and remind Nannan? But if he suddenly appeared, with this kid’s intelligence he would understand that he has been following him the entire time. And this would probably create a barrier between both of them.

He started feeling tangled, his brows tightened together.

The panther became more and more irritable. And just as Mo Xian started considering showing up, the panther roared and rushed forward.

Nannan subconsciously hugged the panther’s neck and bent down to scream: “Ahhh, what are you doing you bumpkin panther? Ouch, my butt. My butt is going to split apart if you keep on rushing this way!”

The speed of the panther was really fast, even the wind passing by seemed like knives scratching by his face. Nannan felt uncomfortable, and his voice sounded broken.

Mo Xian’s face changed. He rushed in a chase without thinking twice.

However, the panther was trained by Ye Xiudu and its speed was also superior amongst its counterparts, when added to the fact that Mo Xian was already keeping some distance from the beginning, he couldn’t reach them in time to stop the panther.

Fortunately, to Nannan, the direction the panther chose to run towards wasn’t a random one. When Mo Xian realised that the direction they were going towards was actually where the Mo Residence was situated, he let go of his worries.

Nannan soon noticed this too and his expression turned strange.

“You bumpkin panther, you child eater. Why are you taking me back to that place? Didn’t you promise to leave with me? Why do you want to come back? Is it possible that you left a lover here somewhere? Ah, you! Stop! Stop!!”

As soon as he started speaking, the panther halted its steps. Nannan let out a relieved sigh, straightening his body with great difficulty, as he was planning on rubbing his now sore backside, he heard a familiar baritone voice: “I’ve said it before, the panther only recognizes one owner.”

Nannan stiffly raised his head, staring at the powerful man in front of him. He swallowed in a gulp losing the stubborn air he usually carried.
