You think back to the skill listed in Song Hanzhang’s talent bar, [Look Towards The Future] and feel yourself understand- this person didn’t like to be troubled by things that had happened already.

So killing Lin Jue was the right way to enter Song Hanzhang’s route?

You feel like the door to a new world has been opened up to you, but there’s a strange pain coming from your ass… You decide adamantly against turning gay.

The fixed event is interrupted by the accident and everyone’s expression is fairly strange. In the end, Gu Fengyi leaves with the other girls, leaving Song Hanzhang behind, looking at you in front of Lin Jue’s corpse.

You feel nothing but pain.

As Song Hanzhang isn’t speaking, you’re forced to peep at his thoughts:

You insist. “It tastes very nice; cucumber flavoured, very crispy.”

A laugh comes from behind you. “I’ll take it.”

You tremble; Lu Ren is here.

Lu Ren stops in front of Lin Jue’s corpse. “Eh? What happened to this guy?”

You see the corners of Song Hanzhang’s mouth twitch visibly. “Dead.”

Lu Ren suddenly laughs. “What a shame…” Saying that, his cold eyes look over at you as you try your best to disappear into the ground.

You cover your head and beg shamelessly, “Spare me! It had nothing to do with me, I just wanted to offer him some chips!”

Lu Ren walks towards you. You sniffle in sorrow. Will you be killed again? You’ve already been killed multiple times following Lu Ren, so you’re used to it now.

Lu Ren didn’t unsheathe his dao though, actually rather gently patting you on the head. “Good job, kudos to you~”

You look up in shock but Lu Ren has already slung his hand around Song Hanzhang’s shoulders and set off.

From the distance your hear the two’s conversation:

“Now that your little pet is dead, you really should consider me; I’m thick-skinned and can take it rough~”

“Go get insecticides from the business district.”

“Woah, a date? Romantic, I like it.”

“Shut up.”

You stare open-mouthed at the two’s backs, once again feeling abandoned. Wait, did you two forget about me!? Oi, system can you please get some shame? Why are you giving me a Lu/Song CG? What do you mean, [Death by Chips – Lu/Song Route END 2 (HE)]?

This is definitely not a normal game, you swear by your dignity as a heterosexual male. You reload your file.

Once again, you stand in the plaza, and once again, you choose Song Hanzhang and Lin Jue’s team. You decide to not offer Lin Jue your chips this time. Hopefully this time, everything will be able to continue as normal.

Once again, your team meets Gu Fengyi’s on the bridge. You successfully act as a wallflower and spare Lin Jue from dying. You get into the car, head towards the northern business district, collect your insecticides, meet up with Gu Fengyi’s group again, talk, and then head into the administration building’s underground parking lot without trouble.

You let out a long breath and start listening to Song Hanzhang analyze the hidden meanings behind the easter eggs, lamenting over your six intelligence.

Following that, you prepare to head towards the area that underwent the rainforest mutation earliest, the theater, to observe the situation there.

The greenery is well-kempt but the botanic gardens up ahead already begin to show signs of rainforestification. Lin Jue leads the way, followed by you, and then Song Hanzhang behind you.

Your perception allows you to sense the bees humming first. They’re here. You shout out, “Be careful!” and push Lin Jue over.

He bumps his head against a rock and immediately faints.

You: “…”

A large swarm of bees flies over…

Lin Jue dies again.

After clearing out the bees in the area, you silently pass the electric mosquito swatter over to Song Hanzhang and lower your head in shame. “Sorry, Lin Jue is dead again.”

You feel like you possess a hidden ability named [Destroyer of the Protagonist Halo].

System hint: [Song Hanzhang Affection Rate -10, Song Hanzhang Attention +10]. You sniffle in pain. This really had nothing to do with you, all you wanted to do was to save him.

“Good evening, we meet again. Is that Lin Jue on the ground? Why is he dead again? Eh, why am I saying ‘again’…” A wild Lu Ren hangs down from a tree.

Song Hanzhang pulls him down with one swift motion. “Let’s go, I need to check out this forest.”

Not daring to speak from anger, you pout, silently pay your respects to Lin Jue’s corpse, and press ‘load’.

This time you follow the plot very carefully after loading and don’t push Lin Jue out of the way after arriving at the theater, letting Song Hanzhang do it instead. Clearly, his skills pass the test- he pushes Lin Jue down with only a small scratch on his forehead resulting from it.

Lin Jue gets up quickly and finishes off the bees while you support him with your mosquito swatter.

The bees hit the swatter with a terrifying crackle and a waft of a scent of burnt protein. You feel a strange sense of ♂joy.

Song Hanzhang heals the wound on Lin Jue’s forehead as Lin Jue blushes, insisting that there is no need to waste energy in healing him.

You lament up to the sky, hoping beyond hope for this stupid pair of gays to hurry up and get married!

Atmosphere-destroyer-Song-Hanzhang replies, “The scent of blood will attract the insects.”

Lin Jue’s foolishly cute face freezes.

“Kek.” You can’t help but laugh out loud, successfully attracting Lin Jue’s hatred.

You immediately change your expression to one of seriousness, pretending the sound just then was just you farting.

After coming back from the theater, you return to the monitor room of the administration building and start watching the ants. Near midnight, Song Hanzhang decides to find Shentu Ming’s team to exchange information about the ants.

The car drives out from the administration building. Your high perception allows you to immediately spot Lu Ren standing beside the road and pondering life.

Lin Jue is right behind you. “Xuezhang, ahead!” he calls.

You sigh inwardly. Is this the special radar between love-rivals? So sensitive.

The car stops in front of Lu Ren and sitting alone in the backseats, you shift uneasily, torn between hoping for Lu Ren to enter the car and praying to god for him to not.

Ultimately, Lu Ren doesn’t enter; he chats casually with Song Hanzhang and then leaves without a word, leaving a wild, handsome silhouette behind.

You feel a faint sense of sadness because you too would like to become as cool as Lu Ren. Unfortunately… your level is too low.

Your group manages to ‘coincidentally’ meet up with Shentu Ming’s as they escape from the gym after, and you manage to witness Dan Liang get tripped by Lin Wi’s knife. You however have played through this plot from another perspective already and smile meaningfully at the scene.

Next, you have to let them into the car, but suddenly, you realize that there aren’t enough seats for everyone…

You watch in horror as Lin Wei runs into the car, pushing you into the corner, followed by the overweight Qin Hanwen. You are now developing towards becoming a pancake.

Shentu Ming stuffs Dan Liang into the car. You feel your chest get crushed and almost spit out a mouthful of blood.

Shentu Ming enters as well!

You start cursing with all the words you know. There are five people in the backseats! Five! And one of them is a fatty who can count as two! You feel something hard poke against your thigh and freeze in terror.

Who TF would get hard in this situation!?

You glare at Lin Wei and his head of dyed blonde hair.

Lin Wei grimaced at being squished, showcasing a mouthful of straight teeth. You look down at his crotch area and realize that the evil Babylon tower has yet to be built. Wait, then what is that thing poking against you?

You look down and see Lin Wei’s knife – you thought too much.

You are deeply worried about your dignity.

The car brakes hard and you smash your head into the back of the seat, getting off with a [Dizzy] debuff on you. You prepare to fight the army ants on this bridge even though you feel that this is a stupid decision, there being bound to be no end to the army ants. What was Song Hanzhang trying to do?

You try your hardest to think. Could it be to test the ants’ threat level? To test the power level of the group? To find out who could be the Judas?

You feel your brain cells quickly dying and give up on thinking.

Oh, it’s the time to grind experience. Your level isn’t high enough for you to be standing on the frontlines, facing the ants directly, but it’s not enough for you to just bully the ones in the water, so you happily run up and down the shore, electrocuting every wet ant that dares climb out of the river.

Looking at your EXP going up in buckets, you feel joy both mentally and physically.

Unfortunately, the frontline ends up breaking and Song Hanzhang sets fire to the bridge to stop the ants in their tracks. You stand in the back watching the fire and lament on how nice of a scene it actually is.

In your spare time, you peep into everyone’s thoughts. You have nothing to say to Dan Liang and his brain full of ‘ehehe’s. Shentu Ming stares at the towering flames and wonders about his unfinished essay report. You have nothing to say about this man either.

Xuezhang is already summarizing the statistics from the battle with the ants, estimating the situation in the spiders’ domain and calculating how long it will take for the moths to arrive.

You feel that his life is so tiring. Even Shentu Ming whose brain is filled with essays lives an easier life than him- at least Shentu Ming was also thinking about the download speed of his porn in between his essays.

Everyone proceeds to run for their lives until you arrive in the domain of the spiders, the South Plaza.

In the last round with Gu Fengyi, you did not go to the South Plaza but that doesn’t stop you from remembering to save a file there.

Arriving at the South Plaza, your group becomes separated due to the giant spider. The system gives you a choice:

A: Follow Lin Jue and Song Hanzhang.

B: Follow Shentu Ming (Friendly Offer of A Stress-Relief Shitpost)

C: Follow Lin Wei, Qin Hanwei, and Dan Liang

You’re filled with curiosity for option B which you had never seen before, so after saving a file, you decide to test it out. You follow Shentu Ming forwards, witnessing him meet up with Lin Wei and Qing Hanwen, and getting turned into a cocoon by an ambush.

Lucky, you’re forgotten by the monsters, but unluckily, you get stuck to the spiderwebs, unable to move. You can only wait for the others to arrive. Soon though, Lin Jue and Song Hanzhang find their ways to you two.

Shentu Ming is near the brink of death. You feel sadness, but such emotions vanish the moment you peep into his thoughts: – I didn’t delete… the porn… in my computer before my death… I will never be able to close my eyes in peace!

ーI shouldn’t have downloaded that furry XXX and that GV… Regrets!

Thank you. My death… doesn’t matter to me anymore. Just my parents. They’ll be so sad to hear that I…” Shentu Ming rasps.

ーI cannot face my parents who will sort through my belongings… What if I ask Lin Jue to smash my computer and soak it in acid? No, what if Lin Jue looks through it out of curiosity? My image!

ーOh, did I not finish my essay? Well you either finish before the deadline or die before the deadline; I can finally try out the second option!

Shentu MIng looks blankly at the roof and after a long, long while, as if in despair, as if in relief, he says, “Is that so? Then… that’s good. Very good…”

Shentu Ming dies in bliss.

Looking at Lin Jue’s depressed state, you force down your twitching mouth. It doesn’t matter, you should leave the dead with some dignity.

You decide to mercilessly wipe this storyline from your memory, load your file, and follow Lin Jue and Song Hanzhang.

Once again, your dog eyes get blinded. Lin Jue’s finger gets bitten by a spider and without thinking, Song Hanzhang sucks out the venom and heals the wound.

You pretend you are very carefully studying moss on the side and that you saw absolutely nothing.

In the following plotline, you pretend you’re invisible and follow Song Hanzhang and Lin Jue around as they complete the story quests. After, you meet Shentu Ming wrapped in a cocoon, on the verge of death.

This time when you peep into Shentu Ming’s final thoughts it’s no longer the OOC monologue but rather a very serious…

…

…You’re cornered by a giant spider after staring at Shentu Ming’s corpse for too long. Lin Jue falls down while climbing down a wall, and then he enters the mirror world.

You follow Song Hanzhang’s footsteps closely and observe Lin Jue from outside of the mirror.

You watch the man happily drown himself in the mirror world and Lilith pop out just as he’s on the verge of death to come to an agreement with Song Hanzhang. Truly, she just doesn’t want to miss an opportunity to mess things up even more.

Song Hanzhang enters the mirror world.

Once again, you feel like you’ve been forgotten, but that’s okay. You’re used to it now. There is no place for a heterosexual male like you in the world of homosexuals.

There is nothing left for you to do. You calmly follow the two of them and leave the south plaza, meeting up with Gu Fengyi’s group and getting chased by the army ants into the beehive.

Before entering the hive, the system once again gives you your options:

A: Chen Lu and Xia Huan

B: Lu Ren

C: Dan Liang

D: Lin Jue

E: Gu Fengyi and Liu Qingqing

F: Song Hanzhang

You aren’t bothered to look at a different route this time and just choose Lin Jue. Following the main character is always the easiest way to pass a stage after all. You watch Dan Liang and Lin Jue duel and find joy in the fact that Dan Liang is unable to beat Lin Jue.

The two of you witness the newly awakened queen bees duel and are cornered into the queen cell by a large swarm of bees. Lu Ren is able to arrive on time and successfully leads you two out of the swarm to meet up with Song Hanzhang.

Then, it’s the boss-fight preparation phase! You let out a long sigh, sensing that the end of the stage is at hand.

The yuri duo very cooperatively sets the rainforest on fire, smoking out the bees which start fighting with the army ants. Your group starts fighting with the queen bee before Lu Ren falls to the ground, wounded.

You drag him over to a place that is suspiciously like a respawn point to refill his HP and MP. In the final moments, you battle the neverending horde of bees and army ants!

The sun rises; you survive another round!

PS: The terms, stats, and talents are all slightly inspired by the game ELONA which is a game with a high level of open-worldness and very interesting system descriptions. Like if you have high speed, the system will describe it as: You chase after cats everyday and slowly become more speedy, and if you have the Endurance talent: You smash your head against a wall everyday to train your endurance. (Who will do this?!)

At the start of the game, there is a beggar’s corpse near the MC’s feet that can be eaten. The system will pop up with: You have finished eating the beggar’s corpse. Raw meat… Blegh, this is human meat! You’ve gone mad. You are a slave to the fresh taste of human meat, you are full beyond belief!

And then receive a mutated talent: You can eat human meat without any hesitation!

Strange, isn’t it -_-

Players can also experience many different types of deaths and mutations in ELONA, such as getting beaten to death by the audience for playing the piano too badly, getting crushed to death by luggage, drowning from trying to save a pet which had fallen into a well, vomiting to death from eating cursed foods…

It’s quite interesting but the controls are very complicated, I would recommend for newbies to follow the walkthroughs.

There is another small extra which is about Xuezhang’s past but I feel like it doesn’t belong here so I’ll leave it until the next volume, when Lin Jue shounen finally wins Xuezhang’s heart! From what I can see now it will be in the next volume1.

[On the possibility of HE between Shentu Ming and Lu Ren in a parallel universe]:

Shentu Ming and Lu Ren have a father-son relationship. Shentu Ming picked up Lu Ren and raised him up but the saint father managed to raise a naturally evil, deranged, pervert son, and then the younger one tops. This is the only possible HE route…

“You… killed someone?” Shentu Ming stared at Lu Ren who returned home covered in blood, his face covered in shock.

Lu Ren flashed him a delighted smile and licked the blood from the corner of his mouth. He held out his bitten calf in sadness. “A wild dog came and bit me; it really hurts, father~”

After drinking the brain plasma royal jelly which stimulates estrogen production, the three realize in shock that they are pregnant!

Vera: NO, IT’S MY SANITY. This is longer than two chapters combined, I am- Urgh. Merry Christmas, all of you, since unless you’re following our other translation, this’ll be the last new chapter published before Christmas. This is the end of book two of The Easter Egg Game, so I’ll be wandering through our previous two volumes for a while to edit them. I’m not going to give an exact timeframe but in a month maximum, we’ll start publishing the third and final volume!
