Song Ning was in such a hurry to leave that he forgot to bring along the key to Liang Rong’s house. When he reached there, no one answered the doorbell for half a day.
Song Ning had never seen Liang Rong leave the house on his own for so long before when he took care of him, so it was hard not to be worried.
He ran over to the security guard and asked him, since the security guard was now very familiar with Song Ning. He told him in secret that the film emperor had went out just twenty minutes ago.
Song Ning frowned, “Which direction did he left in?”
The security guard said, “He seemed to be heading to the subway station.”
Song Ning’s heart let out a ‘thump’. He immediately took off towards the subway station.

The nearby subway station was only five hundred meters away. As soon as Song Ning entered the station, he saw a crowd of people surrounding the elevator area.
People were excitedly holding up their phones, taking pictures while shouting noisily, “Oh my god, it’s Liang Rong!”
“Which Liang Rong?! Is he the film emperor? Oh my god, he maintained his age so well, he doesn’t even look around forty.”
“Did he lose his source of income from quitting the film industry and he’s so poor that he has to use the subway now?”
""
Song Ning was tall so he skipped past the dense crowd and immediately caught sight of Liang Rong standing in the middle.
Wearing a bright yellow cap, he was looking around helplessly under the finger-pointing from the crowd in his surroundings.
At that moment, he turned towards Song Ning’s direction and their gazes found each other precisely.
The corners of Song Ning’s mouths curved up on their own as he flashed a bright smile at Liang Rong. Then, he ignored the astonished and shocked gazes of the people around him, making his way through the dense crowd to take his hand and pull him out of there.
37.
The two of them ran out of the subway station while holding hands. Liang Rong asked while running, “Why are they taking pictures of me?”
Song Ning said, “Because you’re handsome.”
Liang Rong thought it made a lot of sense. “Well, I guess so.”
It only took less than two minutes to run back home. Even after they entered the house, their hands were still clasped together,
Song Ning asked him, “Why did you go to the subway station?”
Liang Rong swallowed nervously, “I wanted to look for you.”
Song Ning was stunned as his heart started pounding again, faster than when they were running earlier on.
Liang Rong asked pitifully, “Ah Ning, were you mad at me these few days?”
Song Ning shook his head and said, “I wasn’t angry.”
As if he was encouraged, Liang Rong asked happily, “’Then, can you start dating me today?”
“I’m afraid today won’t do.”
Liang Rong’s expression collapsed again.
“But tomorrow is fine.”
38.
Liang Rong’s entire face lit up immediately. He pulled Song Ning closer without a second thought and kissed him.
That kiss came off as strong and reckless, Song Ning would never forget it for the rest of his life.
It was laced with the gentle breath of a mature man, yet also some impulsiveness and recklessness of a teenage boy. It could cause anyone to be instantly addicted.
Song Ning subconsciously stretched out his arms, firmly hooked them around Liang Rong’s neck as their breaths became tangled together.
He never knew kissing was such a satisfying thing before, to the point where every toe of his would curl up in excitement. He closed his eyes and in that very moment, he stopped thinking about the future.
Only the present.
