For the next few days, Liang Rong would invite Song Ning over to read the script together and occasionally get into their respective characters.
Song Ning found it amusing. It was only a variety show, not a huge international movie production, so was there a need for such preparations?
But he did not put a stop to it, only following Liang Rong home obediently after work each day. They would take a detour to Song Ning’s home first and packed up some daily necessities and a change of clothes before heading there.
It was pretty much like living together now.
And pretty much equivalent to needing to discuss the script in bed together every night.
On the night before the show was going to be recorded, Song Ning put on a facial mask and said to Liang Rong, “We can’t read the script tonight anymore. The dark circles under my eyes are coming out.”
Liang Rong reluctantly said okay.

The next day, Liang Rong prepared a light-colored outfit for Song Ning. When he put it on, Song Ning looked clean and fresh without losing any of his vitality, seeming friendly and easy to get along with.
Even his assistant couldn’t help but look twice when he picked them up, secretly telling Liang Rong, “If I didn’t know better, I would think sister-in-law1 was a newly debuted, young idol.”
Liang Rong was very satisfied upon hearing that.
On the way to the filming location, Song Ning sat very quietly in the car, not saying a word at all. Although he wasn’t a talkative person to begin with, Liang Rong could still sense something was amiss.
He reached out a hand and hooked Song Ning’s finger, asking, “What’s wrong? Are you nervous?”
Song Ning nodded, “I didn’t feel it two days ago, but now I’m starting to feel nervous as it’s nearing. I’ll talk less later. I’m afraid I won’t do well.”
Liang Rong comforted him, “Don’t be afraid. If you say something wrong, I’ll tell them to edit it out later.”

Liang Rong with Song Ning was a much-anticipated guest duo invited by the production team. In order to create a mysterious feeling, they specially arranged for the two of them to appear last. So when the two of them stepped into the farm hut, the rest of the cast would have already started eating.
Ten people formed a circle around the table as they stood up in unison to welcome the two of them.
Song Ning took a quick glance and realized aside from the non-artist friends, the rest of the cast were quite well-known actors and singers.
And then glancing further a little, he realized they were surrounded by many staffs and camera directors.
Song Ning became even more nervous as time went by, his hand subconsciously grabbing the corner of Liang Rong’s coat.
A sharp-eyed female idol noticed it and coaxed, “Aiyoyo, what is the relationship between the film emperor and this friend?”
Liang Rong smiled calmly, “A relationship of discussing script together.”

“Hello, everyone. My name is Song Ning and I’m Liang Rong’s psychiatrist. Uhm, I occasionally help him with looking through his scripts.”
A junior from the same company as Liang Rong immediately took the cue and said, “That’s right. Brother Rong usually works under a lot of pressure so having a psychiatrist to talk to is much needed.”
The rest of the crowd expressed their understanding over this matter and agreed one after another.
Liang Rong took Song Ning to his seat, and the people at the round table familiarized themselves with each other, gradually creating more conversations.
A young actor who brought his classmate introduced himself and said, “We knew each other in high school, it’s been almost twenty years now.”
“How did you know each other then?” Someone asked.
The young actor’s classmate covered his face in embarrassment and said, “At that time, he was labelled as the school’s hunk because he was good-looking. I couldn’t accept it and insisted on fighting it out with him, that’s how we got to know each other.”
The crowd laughed loudly, “Boys at the age of 16 to 17 sure like to show off.”
Song Ning couldn’t help but laugh, whispering to Liang Rong beside him, “You were like this too when you were 16.”

That sharp-eyed female idol overheard that on the spot and immediately asked with interest, “Huh? Dr. Song and Film Emperor Liang knew each other that early?”
Song Ning looked at Liang Rong in panic. Liang Rong did not reply anything, so Song Ning had no choice but to brave it out, “Well…I guess you can say that.”
The female idol was starry-eyed, “Wow, that’s really great. To be part of each other’s best years of your life.”
The young actor and his classmate who fought in the past also chimed in. “How was the film emperor like when he was 16? It should be different from all of us. Was he very mature since young?”
Song Ning answered really quickly this time and blurted out, “No, he’s not. He was very childish.”
“Hahaha, so he’s been polished with time then.”
Song Ning shook his head and said, “Not really. He’s still quite lively now and nothing much has changed.”
He looked at Liang Rong after saying that and met the gaze of Liang Rong who was staring at him too. The corners of his mouth were slightly raised, a gentle smile could be seen in his eyes.
Song Ning followed suit and smiled as well.
In fact, no matter how many storms this person has gone through in life, and whether or not he still had the memories of the past – Liang Rong was still himself, the same man who grew up from a 16-year-old boy.
And in the end, he had always loved the same person.
