"Be careful, Su Wei. He clearly wants to kill you, not just for the Su family, but possibly for Liu Ruoxi’s sake. That guy is devious."

Wang Fatso looked at Su Yi with a gaze full of deep sympathy. To be honest, he was truly impressed by what this guy did three years ago. In the entire city of Mancheng, no one other than the guy in front of him had the guts to do it.

"It’s fine, he’s not enough."

Su Yi smiled faintly, not paying much attention.

Then, Wang Fatso informed Su Yi that in three days, the powerful figures from Holy Mountain would select eligible young people in Mancheng to enter Holy Mountain.

Wang Fatso didn’t say much more; he didn’t have the qualifications, and Su Yi was even less qualified. How could he have the qualifications?

Besides, even if this guy had the qualifications, Liu Ruoxi is now a fairy on Holy Mountain. Even if he had ten times the courage, he probably wouldn’t dare to go to Holy Mountain, or else Liu Ruoxi would tear him apart.

Su Yi returned to the Su family, and the news spread like a storm throughout the vast Su family.

The entire Su family was instantly in an uproar.

"Ragged and emaciated, what a pitiful sight!"

"Skin and bones, returned in tatters!"

"That’s the Savage Beast Forest; just surviving is a miracle!"

"Truly a lucky one, to return from the Savage Beast Forest after three years."

Various discussions spread throughout the vast Su family, but no one came to visit Su Yi. It seemed that no one wanted to get too close to that troublemaker.

At this moment, Su Yi was leaning in a rocking chair in the small courtyard.

The once luxurious courtyard was now just quiet, no longer as grand as it was three years ago.

"Master Su Yi, you’re finally back, that’s great! I’ve been counting the days. The sheets and bedding have been changed, and I’ve been cleaning your room every day, just waiting for you to return."

A young girl, a bit younger than Su Yi, was now extremely excited and kept talking.

The girl had a heart-shaped face, long eyebrows, and although she wore rough clothes, she couldn’t hide her delicate and beautiful appearance. Her skin was as smooth as fresh lotus, and her beauty was radiant.

Su Yi placed his hands behind his head, leaning back in the rocking chair, smiling at the girl.

After three years, the little girl had grown up, her figure now beginning to show a delicate and alluring shape, a definite beauty in the making. Su Yi thought to himself that in a few more years, she would be even more stunning.

The girl’s name was Wan'er. Her parents had died, and Su Yi had encountered her on the streets of Mancheng ten years ago. Seeing her in such a pitiful state, he brought her back to the Su family, named her Wan'er, and kept her by his side.

In Su Yi’s heart, he always treated this little girl like his own sister, but the girl was stubborn and always saw herself as a servant.

"Master, what are you looking at? Go take a bath quickly. Look at you, you’ve never suffered like this before. How could the old man be so heartless to send you to the Savage Beast Forest? They say it’s a place like hell."

Seeing Su Yi’s disheveled state, as if he had just crawled out of a beggar’s den, Wan'er was heartbroken, tears welling up in her eyes, ready to spill over.

She had cried and wanted to go with him, but she couldn’t. For the past three years, she had been counting the days.

"I’m fine, I’m back, alive and well."

Su Yi, who was afraid of few things, especially Wan'er’s tears, could only get up and obediently go to take a bath.

In the room, Wan'er had already prepared everything for the bath. The wooden tub was filled with petals and fragrances, the scent permeating the air.

"Master, let me help you undress."

Wan'er naturally helped Su Yi undress, pulling off the large robe. Instantly, the tears in her eyes could no longer be held back.

"Master, you’ve suffered so much these years."

Wan'er cried, tears wetting her eyes. She saw that Su Yi’s back was covered with scars of various sizes and colors, some of which, though healed, had clearly been deep to the bone.

Wan'er couldn’t hold back her tears, her face filled with pain. How could she not guess that what Master had experienced in the past three years was far beyond her imagination?

"Stupid girl, what’s there to cry about?"

Du Shaogong turned and smiled, wiping the tears from his face, and said, "You go out first, I’ll wash myself."

"Master, you always let me help you wash. Are you not going to keep me anymore?"

Wan'er’s face was instantly filled with anxiety. In the past, she had always helped Master wash, though most of the time she kept her eyes closed, and Master only asked her to pass towels and such.

"Stupid girl, you’ve grown up. Men and women are different. If you keep helping me wash, how will you find a good husband in the future?"

Su Yi chuckled, thinking about how he had let this girl help him wash three years ago, and couldn’t help but curse himself as a beast.

"I have no plans to marry. I will serve Master for life."

Wan'er looked at Su Yi, who had turned around. Seeing his body, which was much taller than three years ago, and though it seemed thin, was now full of a bronze hue, with muscles like fists, hard and solid, as if containing explosive power.

"Master, you wash yourself."

Girls mature faster than boys of the same age. Wan'er’s face turned red with embarrassment, and she quickly fled the room, closing the door behind her.

Su Yi shook his head and smiled, then looked at the scars all over his body, the results of the past three years.

The Su family was vast, with inner and outer courtyards, east, west, south, and north wings, covering a large area.

The direct descendants of the Su family were already numerous, and there were also collateral descendants, along with guards, servants, and maids. The Su family alone had over a thousand people living there.

Outside the quiet courtyard, a few figures stood, somewhat hesitant, peering into the courtyard.

"Steward Wu, should we really go in? I heard that the troublemaker Su Yi has returned. We’ve made things difficult for Wan'er over the past few years. I wonder if she has reported us. Will we be in trouble?"

A young servant, in his twenties, spoke, his gaze wandering around the courtyard, his expression worried.

Over the past three years, they had bullied Wan'er quite a bit.

In front of these servants was a middle-aged man in his thirties, not tall but well-dressed and robust.

The middle-aged man turned to look at the servant who had spoken, his throat emitting a cold snort, and said, "He’s back, just right. I heard he returned in a pitiful state. He’s probably learned his lesson in the Savage Beast Forest. This is a good opportunity to teach him a lesson, so our lives will be easier in the future."

With that, Steward Wu steeled his resolve, straightened his chest, and walked into the courtyard.

The other servants followed, standing behind him as they entered the courtyard.

They trusted Steward Wu, who had already successfully built his foundation and was likely to reach the Soul Perception Realm. They wouldn’t suffer any losses.

Wan'er was tidying up in the courtyard, thinking about what she had just seen. It was the first time she had seen a man’s body so closely, and it was a completely different feeling from seeing the guards practicing in the courtyard. The more she thought about it, the more her face turned red.

"Steward Wu, what are you doing here?"

Suddenly, seeing Steward Wu and the others, Wan'er instinctively took a few steps back.

Seeing Wan'er’s flushed face, Steward Wu couldn’t help but stare. He had been eyeing this girl for a long time, but she was the personal maid of that useless Master, making her a bit special.

Over the past three years, he had tried various ways to bully and threaten her, but to no avail. He had planned to take a more forceful approach, but then the troublemaker returned.

Thinking about the past three years of bullying, Steward Wu was a bit worried. He had come today partly because someone had asked him to check on things and partly because he wanted to gauge the situation and see what the troublemaker was like after three years.

"Wan'er, I gave you half a month. It’s almost over. When you first entered the Su family, you weren’t registered. I have the right to kick you out."

Steward Wu looked at Wan'er, his eyes heating up. The girl had grown into a beauty, like a green apple, still a bit green but with a unique charm. If he didn’t act soon, who knew who would benefit from it.

"Steward Wu, don’t be too much. I’ve been Master Su Yi’s maid since I was young. Everyone in the Su family knows this. You have no right to kick me out. Besides, Master Su Yi is back. If you don’t leave, Master Su Yi won’t let you off!"

Wan'er glared at Steward Wu, her eyes like autumn pools hidden under long, curved lashes, her delicate red lips pursed, and her teeth biting her tender lip, a stubborn and proud air about her.

"Haha, you mean that troublemaker? Do you think that useless Master can protect you? Let me tell you, he’s not what he used to be in the Su family. If you’re smart, you’ll know what to do. Follow me, and you’ll have a good life. Otherwise, hmm..."

Steward Wu sneered. An over-the-hill useless Master, returning to the Su family like a defeated dog, what could he do?

That troublemaker caused such a huge disaster. Even though he’s back, who knows what his final fate will be.

Although he was just a steward in the Su family, he didn’t need to worry about such a useless Master.

"Bold servant, what do you want to do?"
