After leaving the wildlife conservation station, Wang Yong was still thinking about how he could help solve the funding problem for the rescue station. Directly donating money was definitely not an option. Thinking about the corruption he had seen online, how much of the donated money would actually be used properly? No one could guarantee that.

Coming back to his senses, Wang Yong realized he was heading in the wrong direction. "Wasn't I supposed to go to the city? Why am I heading into the mountains?" He quickly asked Xing Counselor.

"Commander called and said there's an Air Force plane heading to the capital. You're supposed to take that plane. Otherwise, it would be hard to bring these little guys," Xing Counselor explained from the passenger seat.

Wang Yong thought about it and realized that was true. Not to mention, he couldn't even take a bus with them! He looked at the two cages, one containing two slow lorises, also known as pygmy slow lorises, and the other containing two red pandas. Despite the name, these red pandas looked nothing like the famous giant pandas. They were small and skinny, looking much more pitiful.

All four little creatures were newborns, tiny, especially the pygmy slow lorises, which were smaller than Wang Yong's palm. They were incredibly cute, with big, round eyes, curiously looking at Wang Yong without any fear.

Wang Yong hurriedly opened the cages and let the four little creatures out. He then took out a half-empty bottle of water from his backpack, which was actually from a spiritual spring. As soon as he took it out, the sensitive little creatures started climbing onto him. Even the white-furred one at his feet stood up.

Wang Yong first took out a stainless steel lunch box and poured the water into the lid. The four little creatures immediately crowded around, fighting to drink. After they had a little, Wang Yong poured a bit more. In no time, the half bottle of water was finished.

After drinking, the four little creatures curled up against Wang Yong, their bellies full, and soon fell asleep. Wang Yong then took out a bottle of mineral water from his backpack and poured it into the lunch box for the white-furred one, who was eagerly barking. He drank much more than the four little creatures. After finishing the whole bottle, he still wanted more. Wang Yong had to scold him a few times before he finally calmed down and obediently lay at Wang Yong's feet.

Perhaps because they were newborns and still weak, the four little creatures slept soundly even on the plane. Xing Counselor helped carry the two red pandas onto the plane, saving Wang Yong from making two trips.

It seemed the plane was waiting specifically for Wang Yong. As soon as he arrived, the plane took off shortly after.

Once the plane was in the air and flying steadily, the captain came over to greet Wang Yong and chat for a bit. Especially after seeing the little creatures with Wang Yong, the captain's attitude toward him changed immediately.

Bored, Wang Yong took out a magazine from his small world, flipping through it repeatedly, almost tearing it to pieces, before the captain finally announced they had arrived in the capital.

When Wang Yong, carrying the two red pandas and one pygmy slow loris, and with the white-furred one carrying the other pygmy slow loris, walked off the plane, he was surprised to see a familiar face standing by his Land Rover.

"Zhang Kai? Why are you here to pick me up?"

"Why can't I pick you up?"

"Stop standing there, come help. White-furred one, give the little guy to this uncle."

The white-furred one, hearing Wang Yong's command, obediently ran to Zhang Kai's feet and let go of the pygmy slow loris. Zhang Kai carefully picked up the little creature and asked in surprise, "Where did you get these? Can you get one for me?"

"Don't even think about it. I'm telling you, these are protected animals, you know?"

"Why can you keep them then?" Zhang Kai was very不服气 (unconvinced).

"Why? Because I have a veterinary license and a breeding permit. Do you have them? I'm telling you, I have these for scientific research, approved by the organization. If you want, you can get a veterinary license!"

Zhang Kai glared at Wang Yong, then got into the driver's seat with the pygmy slow loris. As soon as Wang Yong got into the car with the three little creatures and the white-furred one, Zhang Kai impatiently stepped on the gas.

Wang Yong chatted with Zhang Kai about his journey, looking out the window at the traffic and skyscrapers. Having just come from the原始森林 (primeval forest), Wang Yong felt very out of place. Especially with the city covered in a light haze, no blue sky or white clouds, and the smell of exhaust fumes.

"Hey! Where are we going? Why are we on Chang'an Street?" Wang Yong asked in surprise. This wasn't the way to his uncle's house, even if they were taking a detour, they shouldn't be on this road!

"Stay put, do you think I'd sell you?"

"Who knows? I'm a famous handsome guy now, right?"

"Don't be so full of yourself, you?"

After a while, seeing where Zhang Kai parked the car, Wang Yong asked in a daze, "Is this the Great Hall?"

"Of course, my dad wants to see you. Where else would we go?"

The guard at the gate carefully inspected the car and its contents, and two plainclothes officers used instruments to check the car. After a series of procedures, they were finally allowed in. Wang Yong noticed there were still many hidden sentries and snipers around, keeping an eye on their car.

"Do you have to go through this every time you come here?" Wang Yong looked at Zhang Kai with pity.

"What do you think? This time, it's thanks to you. The office issued a special notice. Otherwise, it wouldn't just be one checkpoint, it would be three or four, with many more rules and restrictions."

"Wow! Poor kid! Don't be sad, I'll give you something good later. It'll cheer you up and make you feel great."

As soon as he finished speaking, Zhang Kai parked the car outside a courtyard. He opened the door and said, "We're here! Get out!"

Wang Yong left the little creatures in the car, giving them half a bunch of bananas, a few peaches, and two large mangoes. He then took out a bunch of bananas, three pineapples, and a dozen mangosteens from his backpack, putting them in two food bags and handing them to Zhang Kai.

Then, under Zhang Kai's surprised gaze, he took out two more food bags from his backpack, one with pineapples and the other with a few apples. He closed the car door and nudged the stunned Zhang Kai, walking into the courtyard.

"Mom, we're back! I've brought the person. Is Dad back yet?" Zhang Kai called out in the courtyard.

"Back? How old are you? Can't you be a bit more composed? This is Wang Yong, right? I've heard a lot about you recently!" A well-maintained, familiar woman smiled at Wang Yong.

Wang Yong was stunned. Wasn't this someone? How could this be possible? He subconsciously glanced at Zhang Kai.

"Ha ha, surprised, huh? This is my mom." Zhang Kai was very satisfied with Wang Yong's expression. He had never seen him like this before.

"Ah! Auntie, hello. I'm Wang Yong. Oh, right, these are some fruits I brought from Yunnan. I picked them from the trees myself before coming, for you to try." Wang Yong quickly greeted her. A few days ago, the village loudspeaker had played a song by this person. He never imagined she would be the future First Lady!

"Come on, you didn't have to bring anything! Next time, don't bring anything! Come inside, your uncle has been waiting for you." The auntie took the food bags from Wang Yong and led him inside.

"Old Zhang, Wang Yong is here." The auntie called into a room.

"Let him in." A deep, authoritative, yet kind voice responded from inside.

"Wang Yong, you chat with your uncle for a bit. I'll go make some food. We'll eat here." Without waiting for Wang Yong to protest, the auntie left.

Wang Yong and Zhang Kai exchanged a helpless look. Under Zhang Kai's encouraging gaze, Wang Yong walked in step by step. His heart was pounding, and he couldn't help but think of the story of Gao Qiu falsely accusing Lin Chong.

Fortunately, when Wang Yong entered the room and saw the approval and kindness in the eyes of the important figure often seen on the news, his heart calmed down. He felt as if he were just visiting a friend's house, and the friend's father was a colleague of his uncle, which made him less nervous.

If Wang Yong hadn't had his extraordinary encounter, even with the relationship with his uncle and his godfather, he would have been trembling in fear. It seemed that no matter what, one must be strong oneself.

Seeing Wang Yong quickly adjust from his nervous state, Uncle Zhang nodded slightly.

"I know everything about you, including what happened in Yunnan. Good job, you haven't disgraced your uncle or your godfather." Uncle Zhang said kindly, leaving Wang Yong in a fog. He mustered the courage to ask:

"How do you know my godfather? Thank you for your help in Tianhai last time!"

"Ha ha, trying to get information from me, huh? Fine, I'll tell you about your godfather so you can understand his past." Uncle Zhang said kindly.

It turned out that his godfather, while working in Tianhai, often led teams to relatively poor provinces to help with poverty alleviation or to teach new agricultural techniques and train agricultural technicians. Over the years, he had been involved in dozens of poverty alleviation projects and trained thousands of agricultural technicians. When Uncle Zhang was the mayor of a coastal city with a large wealth gap, he met his godfather, who was there to help with poverty alleviation.

After that, the two, sharing a common ideal of wanting farmers to live better lives and a common hobby of playing football, became close friends. They often called each other to chat or met for meals.

Hearing this, Wang Yong thought to himself: No wonder he's my godfather! Look at him, so humble. If it weren't for the reconciliation with his godmother and bringing her back to the village, who would have looked at his godfather differently? Who would have thought his godfather had such a significant background? It seems there's still a lot for him to learn. He needs to learn more from his godfather to avoid becoming famous in a bizarre way. (To be continued.)
