Wang Yong's species collection plan was cut short due to an unexpected encounter with Zhao Ge's cousin, who was a colonel. Originally, Wang Yong intended to wander in the jungle for a few more days. However, he was eventually dragged onto a helicopter by Zhao Zhijun, who cited safety concerns due to a recent battle in the area. Along with him was the white-furred creature that Wang Yong had released at an opportune moment, which accompanied him to an army aviation regiment airport near the border.
As soon as they landed, they switched to a car, sirens blaring, and arrived at a People's Armed Police (PAP) base on the outskirts of the city. Wang Yong was then left at the guesthouse by his newly acquainted "second brother" who had to attend to military affairs. Fortunately, the second brother remembered to send a staff officer to call Wang Yong for dinner.
In the guesthouse, Wang Yong called Zhao Ge to confirm the situation, as caution is always better than regret. Initially, Zhao Ge was not too concerned when he learned that Wang Yong had been hiding in Yunnan for a trip. However, Zhao Zhicheng, a high-ranking official, quickly realized the gravity of the situation.
"How did your trip end up at your second brother's place? That's a top military restricted area; outsiders can't even enter. Even family members can only stay in the guesthouse outside. But from the sounds of the soldiers training on the phone, you're clearly inside the base?"
Under Zhao Ge's intense questioning, and the threat of calling Zhao Zhijun or even Wang Yong's godfather, Wang Yong had no choice but to briefly explain the entire story. Even Zhao Zhicheng, who had seen many things and weathered many storms, was stunned.
A trip for tourism had led to the discovery of a Japanese-built underground arsenal, and using the weapons inside, Wang Yong had helped the PAP eliminate a group of drug traffickers. It sounded like a plot from an adventure movie, just like those treasure-hunting films.
At Wang Yong's insistence, Zhao Zhijun finally agreed to keep the matter confidential and not tell his godfather. Only then did Wang Yong hang up the phone.
Shortly after, a staff officer came to take Wang Yong to the dining hall, but the second brother was still in a meeting. The discovery of the underground arsenal, which had almost hollowed out a mountain, and the fifty kilograms of heroin seized from the drug traffickers, were enough to keep them busy for a while.
After dinner, Wang Yong asked the staff officer to inform Zhao Zhijun that he wanted to return to the city and go home. However, when Zhao Zhijun heard this, he insisted that Wang Yong stay for a couple more days and even ordered the staff officer to keep an eye on him to prevent him from leaving.
As a result, Wang Yong spent another two days at the military camp. To keep him from getting bored, the staff officer took him to the shooting range. The results were astounding. With the Type 95 assault rifle, he hit the bullseye with all thirty bullets in five seconds at a distance of two hundred meters. He then switched to the Type 92 pistol, Type 85 sniper rifle, Type 88 sniper rifle, Type 95 light machine gun, Type 03 assault rifle, and Type 82 heavy machine gun. The PAP soldiers were so impressed that they thought Wang Yong must be a shooting instructor from a special forces unit.
After two days, Wang Yong was planning to try the 40mm grenade launcher when his second brother, Zhao Zhijun, finally appeared and informed him of the official handling of the incident.
The official statement was that during a routine patrol in the border area, the PAP discovered a large underground arsenal built by the Japanese. After reporting to their superiors, two soldiers were left to guard the site while the others continued patrolling.
At 2:28 PM, a group of armed drug traffickers tried to enter the country through the area. The two soldiers, using weapons from the arsenal, held them off until the main force arrived and captured them, seizing fifty kilograms of heroin and killing the internationally wanted criminal, Scorpion.
Wang Yong was relieved that he was not mentioned in the official report, as he did not want to risk retaliation from the drug traffickers.
However, Zhao Zhijun felt guilty about taking all the credit, especially when Wang Yong, thinking the matter was over, asked to leave again. Zhao Zhijun thought Wang Yong was dissatisfied with not receiving any recognition for his efforts.
In this situation, it was impossible to publicly reward Wang Yong, not only for his safety but also due to other complications. While pondering how to compensate Wang Yong, Zhao Zhicheng noticed the small wolf cub that had been following Wang Yong and had an idea.
Without further ado, Wang Yong was pulled into a car by his second brother. They had barely driven fifty meters when Zhao Zhijun received a call and had to return to a meeting. Before getting out of the car, he whispered something to the staff officer and then hurriedly left, saying, "Wang Yong, I've been too busy these past few days and haven't taken good care of you. Next time, I'll make it up to you. This time, you've done a great job, but you haven't received any reward. I feel bad about that. Here, take these gifts. Follow Staff Officer Xing; I've already arranged everything."
"Let's go. And keep an eye on your white-furred friend; he's baring his teeth at me again." The staff officer had been with Wang Yong for two days and had become familiar with the white-furred creature, but any action perceived as aggressive towards Wang Yong, such as a pat on the shoulder, would result in the creature baring its teeth in warning.
"Ha, okay, let's go, White Fur!" Wang Yong opened the car door and let the creature jump in, then followed.
The car sped off, and no matter how many times Wang Yong asked, the staff officer refused to reveal their destination, only saying it would be a surprise.
After more than an hour, they arrived at a wildlife rescue station. Wang Yong was truly amazed. The staff officer went inside and returned a few minutes later with two cages. Wang Yong immediately recognized the slow lorises, which he had several of in his small world.
What was this about? The thought of the internet videos showing people in this region and Guangdong eating anything, even newborn mice, made him feel sick.
After the car started moving again, the staff officer explained, "The commander saw that you like small animals and arranged for some local ones to be given to you. Here, take these." He handed Wang Yong two small booklets: one was a certificate of artificial breeding, and the other was a veterinary certificate from the rescue station.
"This is to give you a legitimate reason for having these protected animals," the staff officer explained.
Wang Yong thought for a moment and then said to the staff officer, "Let's go back to the rescue station. I don't want to take these animals for free. Since they've given me a veterinary certificate, I'll help treat the animals there."
Despite his doubts, the staff officer, who knew little about Wang Yong, reluctantly took him back to the rescue station and directly approached the station manager to explain their purpose.
The station manager was a man in his fifties, tanned and strong from years of fieldwork. If not for his white coat, he would have looked like a farmer who had just arrived in the city.
"Are you Xiao Wang? Treating animals isn't a game. Do you really know how to do it? Which school did you graduate from? Who was your teacher?" the old manager asked, clearly skeptical.
"Ha, to be honest, I've developed some unconventional remedies through experiments, which have shown some effectiveness in improving animals' immunity and intelligence," Wang Yong replied, exaggerating a bit.
"Improve immunity and intelligence? That's impossible! Wait, you are...?" The old manager turned to his desk and started clicking his mouse. Wang Yong knew his identity was about to be revealed.
Sure enough, a few minutes later, the old manager was alternately looking at Wang Yong and his computer, his expression puzzled.
"Are you the Wang Yong who grew the super vegetables?"
Seeing this, Wang Yong could only nod helplessly.
Upon confirmation, the old manager immediately smiled warmly and introduced himself, "I'm Bai Ziming, the station manager. On behalf of the rescue station, I welcome you!"
Bai Ziming's sudden change in attitude left the staff officer confused. How could someone who had been so skeptical and dismissive just moments ago now be so热情地拉着王勇?
Wang Yong gave a wry smile at Bai Ziming's

Wang Yong gave a wry smile at Bai Ziming's inconsistent attitude, not realizing how famous he had become. However, he didn't know how to treat animals, but with Little Light, he wasn't afraid of anything. The key was that he didn't want to stay any longer; he was eager to return home.
Seeing the enthusiastic Bai Ziming, Wang Yong suddenly had an idea. He formally said to Bai Ziming, "Bai Ziming, please prepare a bottle with a lid for me. I'll prepare some medicine for the rescue station. You can feed it to the animals regularly."
Before Wang Yong could react, Bai Ziming ran out like the wind. Bai Ziming was very familiar with Wang Yong's super vegetables, as his old friend had been in charge of testing them.
Afterward, they had discussed whether Wang Yong had a unique secret recipe that allowed him to grow such extraordinary vegetables. He never imagined he would meet the real person today, and even more, that this person would prepare medicine for him. What a rare opportunity!
Seeing the stunned Wang Yong, Staff Officer Xing explained, "Don't mind him. Professor Bai cares more about the animals here than his own children. The animals you received today were actually requested by our commander without his knowledge."
As Staff Officer Xing spoke, he noticed Wang Yong giving him a meaningful look. Turning around, he saw Professor Bai standing behind him with two large glass bottles. Seeing Bai Ziming's fierce expression, Xing quickly told Wang Yong to wait in the car and hurried out of the office.
"Ai!" A sigh, and Bai Ziming seemed to age instantly.
"Over the years, although more resources have been invested in animal protection, it's still not enough compared to the increasing number of protected animals. Even though we release a batch of animals each year, the rescue station is still overwhelmed. Especially the newborns whose mothers have died; they are brought here every few weeks, sometimes even every few days. Ai!"
Another sigh, and Bai Ziming shook his head, handed the two glass bottles to Wang Yong, and left. He knew that someone with a unique secret recipe like Wang Yong wouldn't want others to see him prepare the medicine, so he stood guard outside the door.
Holding the two large bottles, each at least ten liters, Wang Yong said nothing. Thinking about what the old station manager had said, he wondered if he should donate some money to the rescue station. As he thought, he took the new bucket of purified water from the water dispenser.
He poured the purified water into his small world and then filled the two bottles with spiritual spring water. After some thought, he added one drop of the Water of Life to one bottle and ten drops to the other. Then he called Bai Ziming back in.
"Bai Ziming, the medicine in this bottle," Wang Yong pointed to the one with the Water of Life, "should be diluted one hundred times for oral or injection use. If the condition is severe, you can use the undiluted solution, which can save lives in emergencies. The other bottle can be used directly."
Bai Ziming, looking at the two full bottles, was overjoyed. He thanked Wang Yong repeatedly and insisted on keeping him for dinner, but Wang Yong declined, citing his need to catch a flight. (To be continued.)
