"What brings you here today?"
It was our turn.
The beautiful receptionist sitting at the counter smiled.
"I would like to sell some monster materials."
"Monster materials, you say. Are you registered with the Adventurer's Guild?"
"Ah, no, I'm not."
"I see. The guild has a rule that only registered adventurers can sell materials. What would you like to do?"
"Well, um—"
"I'm properly registered with the Adventurer's Guild, so it should be fine, right? Right!"
Raul, who had accompanied me when I thought about registering as an adventurer, spoke up.
Raul looked at my face, smiled, and gave a thumbs up.
You're really a good guy...
"In that case, there's no problem. The material appraisal is done in the warehouse, so please follow me."
The receptionist seemed to be guiding us to the warehouse where the appraisal was conducted.
Raul and I followed the receptionist.
"Thanks. You really saved me."
"No problem, no problem. Don't worry about it."
Raul waved his hand with a bright smile.
"This is the warehouse. There's a staff member inside, so just follow their instructions."
"Okay, thank you."
I bowed to the receptionist and opened the warehouse door.
The warehouse was quite spacious.
There was a middle-aged male staff member organizing the items in the warehouse.
"Huh? What's up? Did you come to sell materials?"
"Yes, I came to sell them."
"Alright, then just put the materials over there."
The male staff member pointed to an empty space.
"Got it."
I used the [Item Box].
A transparent board appeared, and I started selecting the materials I wanted to take out.
"…What are you doing?"
The male staff member looked puzzled.
"Hey, hey. Instead of spacing out there, shouldn't you be taking out the materials faster?"
Raul seemed worried, wondering if everything was okay.
…Ah, I see.
The two of them can't see this transparent board.
That's why they don't understand that I'm selecting the materials to take out.
"Don't worry, don't worry. I'll be done selecting the materials soon."
"…Selecting…?"
Raul and the male staff member tilted their heads in confusion.
Yeah, this should be fine.
After selecting the materials, I took them out of the Item Box.
Suddenly, the materials appeared out of nowhere.
Since they appeared in mid-air, they all fell to the ground.
Thud!
"…W-Where did you get those from?"
The male staff member looked up at the ceiling, clearly confused. Of course, there was nothing there.
"…Are you a magician!?"
Raul lightly slapped my chest.
"This isn't magic, it's called [Item Box]."
"Item Box!?! …What the heck is that?"
It seemed Raul didn't know about the [Item Box].
"Item Box!?! You have such an incredible magic at your age!?"
On the other hand, the male staff member was extremely surprised.
"Um… Is Almar's magic really that amazing?"
Raul said, a bit puzzled.
"Yeah, just having it is said to make it easy to succeed as a merchant."
"Whoa! Really!? Great job, Almar! You have an incredible magic!"
"…Well, it's definitely convenient, but I don't think it's enough to succeed as a merchant… I probably don't have the talent for it."
"Stop being modest! Having such an incredible magic is amazing! Haha!"
"– Hey, hey, wait a minute! What are these materials!?"
The male staff member was shocked when he saw the materials.
…Oops.
Maybe the materials I chose weren't of good quality.
I should have selected better ones…
"…Maybe these materials can't be bought? Sorry, this is my first time using the Adventurer's Guild…"
The materials I took out were:
[Dragon Eye]
[Fire Dragon Scale]
[Fire Dragon Claw]
[Fire Dragon Fang]
[Fire Dragon Tail]
[Young Oni General's Sash]
[Young Oni General's Skin]
[Obsidian Bear Claw]
[Obsidian Bear Fang]
[Obsidian Bear Skin]
One of each.
There are still more in the [Item Box], but I thought if I could get these bought, it would be worth a few thousand gold… But it might not work out.
"Idiot! It's the opposite! Gah! K!"
"Huh?"
"Why do you have so many high-value materials!? And they're all things that don't usually circulate in the market! Please! Let us buy them!"
The male staff member prostrated himself.
"Ah, yes… Please, I would like you to buy them. And you don't have to prostrate yourself."
"No, thank you! I'll appraise them at a good price right away! Please wait a moment!"
The male staff member said this and started appraising the materials with enthusiasm.
"…You're really something, aren't you?"
Raul said, looking at the male staff member.
"No, not really. I don't think it would have gone this smoothly without Raul."
"Cut it out. I didn't do anything… I really didn't."
Gurrr…
Raul's stomach growled.
"Ah!"
"Are you hungry? If so, how about we have a meal together afterward? I'd like to thank you for today."
"Really!?"
"Of course."
"K, kuh… Alright, I'll take you up on that."
"Haha, then let's pray together that the materials sell for a high price."
"Sure. …But from the looks of it, they should fetch a good price."
