The air in the forest park was especially fresh in the early morning. Birds were chirping and hopping around the trees. After a thunderstorm last night, it turned out to be a sunny day today.
“Ugh…” Mo Zhitao, who had been lying on the ground, heard the bird calls, opened his eyes, and got up.
If the masked man from last night saw him now, he would be greatly surprised. Not only ordinary people, but even the masked man himself would have died if he had eaten the golden dragon snake. How could Mo Zhitao be unharmed? This was a stroke of luck. If it weren't for the lightning strike that followed, he would probably have already gone to work for King Yama.
“Huh? How did I end up here? Am I not dead?” Mo Zhitao looked around, puzzled.
He finally remembered. Last night, he had missed his stop and ended up at the forest park. When he was about to take a bus back, a tornado suddenly appeared. Not only did he encounter the tornado, but he was also swept up by it. After that, he didn't know what happened. He only remembered flying into the sky and then falling into a lake, where he seemed to have eaten something red that looked like a small dragon or snake. After that, he didn't know what happened.
“Good heavens, isn't this Linhu Lake in the forest park?” Mo Zhitao muttered to himself, looking at the lake in front of him.
He had been to this lake before, when he was a student and came with his classmates. It had been many years since he had visited.
Mo Zhitao picked up his phone from nearby and tried to check the time, but it was out of battery and wouldn't turn on.
He looked up at the sky and estimated it was already late. He hurriedly ran out of the forest park. The gate was no obstacle for him; he climbed over the iron fence and ran to the nearby bus stop.
He had to go to work today. If he didn't, he might be fired by the director. The director's malicious gaze yesterday made it clear that he was ready to take action against him.
The events of the past few days felt like a movie to Mo Zhitao, one after another, making it hard for him to accept. He needed to find a time to go to Qingmei City and investigate the Cheng family's situation.
After a short wait, a bus pulled up in front of him. As soon as he got on and put in two coins, the driver said sarcastically, "Good morning, Mr. Fishing, I didn't expect you to come to work so early. You're really dedicated!"
Mo Zhitao looked up and recognized the driver as the one who refused to stop for him last night. If it weren't for him, he wouldn't have been caught in the tornado and wouldn't have ended up unconscious in the park.
"I'm not Mr. Fishing!" Mo Zhitao said angrily.
"Hehe, it's the same thing, you're just fishing for law enforcement," the driver said, feeling very clever. The young man had gotten off the bus here yesterday and said he didn't get off here. But today, he got on here. Who else could be fishing for law enforcement if not him? Could it be the driver himself?
Mo Zhitao didn't think it was worth arguing with the driver. He glanced around and found no seats, so he had to stand at the back, tightly holding the handrail.
The bus was either driven by a happy driver or one in a hurry, as it sped along, and if you didn't hold on tight, you might fall.
The bus had already passed three stops, and there were still no seats available. Mo Zhitao had to continue standing.
At this moment, a beautiful woman got on the bus. Her large, bright eyes with long lashes made her even more alluring. Her slightly upturned nose and long, black, shiny hair neatly draped over her back, along with a delicate and beautiful hair clip, and a snow-white, high-end dress, made her look almost untouchable. Mo Zhitao couldn't help but look at her a few more times; it would be a waste not to.
The woman was indeed beautiful, but her face had a hint of illness, making her look frail like Lin Daiyu.
After the woman got on, the driver closed the door and continued driving. There weren't many people on the bus, and the only ones standing were Mo Zhitao and the woman. The woman seemed to notice Mo Zhitao looking at her and turned to look out the window.
"Screech!" Something happened up ahead, and the driver slammed on the brakes. Due to inertia, everyone in the bus lurched forward.
The sudden stop made Mo Zhitao lurch forward. During the lurch, he tripped over something and fell to the ground.
At that moment, he had already rushed to the side of the woman, and his fall landed him under her skirt.
Good heavens, the woman was wearing red underwear, and a small piece of grass had come out. Mo Zhitao, lying on the ground, couldn't help but notice the view under her skirt.
"Ah!" The woman let out a scream that could be considered the most terrifying of the century. She saw a man lying under her skirt, his head facing her private area.
"Ah!" Mo Zhitao also let out a scream like a pig being slaughtered. He had only glanced at the view under her skirt when her legs instinctively clamped down on his head. The high heels were pressing down hard, and he couldn't help but scream.
When Mo Zhitao tried to scream again, he couldn't.
It wasn't that he didn't want to, but his mouth was blocked by something. To be precise, it was blocked by the woman sitting on his face. For some reason, the woman had fainted and sat on Mo Zhitao's face.
Mo Zhitao couldn't speak, and he also smelled a special fragrance, something he had never smelled before, as if it came from somewhere on the woman's body.
At this moment, the bus erupted in chaos. The men on the bus had been paying attention to the woman, and when they saw Mo Zhitao under her skirt and making her faint, they couldn't stand it.
"Someone is being a pervert, catch the pervert! Driver, drive to the police station, it's just ahead," a young man with acne on his face shouted, urging the driver to drive.
The driver had already been annoyed with Mo Zhitao. One of his colleagues had been caught by a fishing for law enforcement and fined 2,000 yuan just the other day. Now he had a chance to get back at him, and he was more than happy to do so.
"Alright, I'll drive right away," the driver said, starting the bus.
Mo Zhitao panicked and quickly helped the woman up, then got up from the ground.
"Don't misunderstand me, I'm a doctor. The girl fainted due to illness, and I was trying to help her. She fainted and sat on my face," Mo Zhitao said, quickly checking the girl's pulse.
He continued, "She has a weak constitution and low blood sugar. I'll wake her up immediately." Mo Zhitao, a graduate of Traditional Chinese Medicine, knew exactly what was wrong with the girl from her pulse. His mentor was a famous TCM doctor in the country.
"Ha, anyone can say that. Are you going to take off her clothes to examine her?" the acne-faced young man said angrily, "You can come up with any excuse."
Mo Zhitao, seeing the murderous looks from the others, wanted to find a needle to help the woman, but he didn't have one. He quickly took off her hair clip and poked her Fengchi acupoint a few times.
Soon, the woman woke up.
The woman saw Mo Zhitao in front of her and glared at him, saying, "Pervert, what are you doing?"
"Miss, I'm a doctor. You misunderstood me. I just woke you up," Mo Zhitao said.
"You're a doctor?" the woman didn't believe him.
The acne-faced young man said to the woman, "Miss, don't believe him. He just touched you and you woke up. He was just lucky."
"I'm not lying. Do you have asthma that hasn't been cured for years?" Mo Zhitao asked.
"You, how do you know?" the woman looked at Mo Zhitao in surprise. Her asthma had been troubling her for years, and her family had taken her to many places, but it hadn't been cured.
The woman's words made many people on the bus believe Mo Zhitao.
Mo Zhitao returned the hair clip to the woman, "I said I'm a doctor. If you want to be cured, you can come to me. I'm a doctor at the District People's Hospital, my surname is Mo."
"Miss, don't believe him, he's a pervert," the acne-faced young man shouted again.
At this moment, an auntie said to Mo Zhitao, "Handsome doctor, I have irregular periods. They come every few months, and there's hardly any blood. Can you help me?"
"Handsome, can you enlarge my chest? Can you make it bigger?" a not-so-attractive young woman bravely stood up and pushed her flat chest towards Mo Zhitao.
Mo Zhitao was sweating. What was this?
Fortunately, the bus had arrived at the District People's Hospital stop, and he ran off the bus in a hurry.
Back at the hospital, Mo Zhitao saw Dr. Jiang Huaheng talking to a patient, "Sir, you need to be more cautious. You should do some tests first. I feel your fever is very unusual. You haven't been able to cure it with medicine, and you've been running a fever for several days, on and off."
"Yes, Dr. Jiang, please save me. I have a family to take care of. What will they do if something happens to me?" The patient, a man in his forties, looked at Dr. Jiang Huaheng with gratitude.
"Let's do a full-body check, including CT, chest X-ray, blood tests, ultrasound, and ECG. We need to find out what's wrong before we can treat it," Dr. Jiang Huaheng said with a sinister smile. Doctors received rewards for prescribing tests and medications, with some reaching up to 40%, and tests had the highest reward.
Mo Zhitao couldn't stand it. He walked over and said, "Dr. Jiang, I think the patient was bitten by a chigger. There's a scab on his neck. A blood test will be enough."
If a full-body check was done, the patient would have to pay over a thousand yuan. The patient's clothes were tattered, and his shoes were dirty, indicating he was from the countryside.
"Mo Zhitao, you're just a doctor's assistant!" Dr. Jiang Huaheng glared at Mo Zhitao, gritting his teeth. The practice of doctors receiving kickbacks for prescribing tests and medications was a common rule in the hospital system. Mo Zhitao had exposed it in front of the patient, and he was furious. If it weren't for the patient, Dr. Jiang Huaheng would have punched Mo Zhitao.
"Go ahead, you do it," Dr. Jiang Huaheng said and turned to leave.
"Dr. Jiang, Dr. Jiang!" The patient called out anxiously as Dr. Jiang Huaheng left.
"Uncle, don't worry. Your condition is easy to treat. If you do a full-body check, including medication, it might cost you two or three thousand yuan," Mo Zhitao said. He didn't want to say it, but the uncle looked very poor, and he felt sorry for him.
The patient's face changed, "Dr. Jiang just asked me how much money I brought. He said my condition might cost a lot. I don't have that much money. I borrowed five hundred yuan from the village chief, and that's all I have."
At this, the patient's eyes turned red.
