"Uncle, I'll help you take a look." Mo Zhitao knew that doing this would definitely offend Jiang Huaheng, who was the department head and in charge of him. He would definitely make things difficult for him in the future.

Well, if he was going to offend the hospital director, what did it matter if he offended a department head? A doctor should have a parent's heart. If a doctor lacks the most basic morals, what difference is there from a butcher? With this thought, Mo Zhitao seemed to have a new goal.

"You'll help me take a look?" The patient looked at the young Mo Zhitao with disbelief. "Are you a doctor here or a nurse? Can you diagnose? Forget it, I'll find Director Jiang and ask if 500 yuan can cure me. If not, I'll sell the cow at home and come back. Sigh, if there's no cow at home, the farm work will be a problem."

The patient's face turned gloomy again, remembering that Jiang Huaheng had called Mo Zhitao a doctor's assistant.

Mo Zhitao said seriously, "Uncle, trust me. I'll prescribe you medicine for one day. If you still have a fever tonight, you can find another doctor. Okay?"

"How much will it cost?" The patient asked hesitantly, not daring to look at Mo Zhitao.

"I don't want your money. I'll give you two acupuncture treatments and prescribe a traditional Chinese medicine formula. You can get the medicine for just a few yuan. You won't have a fever tomorrow. If you do, you can come and find me." Mo Zhitao said confidently.

"A few yuan can cure me?" The patient didn't believe it, thinking Mo Zhitao was deceiving him.

Mo Zhitao said, "Really, I'm not lying. You'll know tomorrow."

The patient, having little money, decided to give it a try.

When Mo Zhitao borrowed a set of needles from the pharmacy and inserted them into the patient's Fengshi and Quchi acupoints, the patient felt his previously hot body cool down, and he even started to sweat.

"Doctor, I feel less uncomfortable now." The patient said excitedly. He felt much better after Mo Zhitao's acupuncture.

"Okay, I'll write you a prescription." Mo Zhitao found paper and a pen and wrote: Baihu Decoction: 50 grams of gypsum, 18 grams of Anemarrhena, 6 grams of licorice, 9 grams of rice. "Go and get the medicine."

"Yes, thank you, doctor." The patient believed Mo Zhitao. The acupuncture had given him hope.

He took the prescription and pulled out 100 yuan from his pocket, secretly giving it to Mo Zhitao, "Doctor, if I get better, I'll come back to thank you."

In the patient's eyes, he had a serious illness. If 100 yuan could cure him, it would be a great deal.

Mo Zhitao pushed the money back, "Uncle, what are you doing? Go and get the medicine. I don't want your money."

"This, this..." The patient's face changed, thinking the doctor was dissatisfied with the amount. He bit his lip and pulled out two more 100-yuan notes to give to Mo Zhitao.

"I have something to do, go quickly." Mo Zhitao didn't want to talk more and ran inside. In the internal medicine on-duty room, Jiang Huaheng glared at him with a vicious look.

"Mo Zhitao, you're not scheduled to work today." Jiang Huaheng said angrily.

Mo Zhitao didn't care, "Director Jiang, I have something to do. I'm going to the city." Mo Zhitao wanted to go to the city to check on the situation at the Cheng family. He couldn't find the murderer here.

Jiang Huaheng's revenge suited him just fine.

"No, your skills are not up to par. You need to stay in the hospital and study. We will still record your attendance." Jiang Huaheng wouldn't let Mo Zhitao off so easily. He wouldn't let him work and would keep him here every day.

Mo Zhitao shrugged, "Oh, I understand."

For a doctor, not working meant no performance and no pay. With just a base salary of 900 yuan, he wouldn't have much left after living expenses.

Mo Zhitao didn't take Jiang Huaheng's revenge seriously. He left the on-duty room and headed to the hospital library. Mo Zhitao loved reading and had the ability to read quickly, remembering everything he read.

Since he couldn't leave the hospital, he decided to go to the library.

The librarian was an old man with cloudy eyes, seemingly unable to see clearly. He limped with his right leg, and everyone called him "Old Lame." According to the hospital staff, Old Lame was once a traditional Chinese medicine doctor but was transferred here to manage the library due to his poor skills. He continued to stay even after retirement.

Old Lame was reading a book when he saw Mo Zhitao enter. His eyes lit up in surprise, and the book in his hand fell to the ground.

Mo Zhitao didn't pay much attention to the strange old man. He went into the book storage room, where there were many old books.

For some reason, Mo Zhitao's head was very clear today, unlike the previous days when he had headaches.

Could my headache be cured? Was it healed by the tornado? Mo Zhitao thought. He picked up a book on traditional Chinese medicine and read it quickly, finishing it in half an hour.

He continued searching the room, looking for more books on traditional Chinese medicine. He used to spend a lot of time in the library at Ninghai Medical University, where there were many books, and he had read many of them.

Suddenly, the wooden cabinet above his head seemed to make a sound. He looked up but saw nothing. What's going on? Is there a ghost? Mo Zhitao thought. The things he had experienced in the past few days were almost like encountering a ghost.

Mo Zhitao's eyes fixed on a small board on the front of the wooden cabinet, as if there was something there. He knocked on it lightly and found it was hollow.

He carefully pulled the small wooden board and saw several yellowed old books inside. He curiously took one out and saw the title: "Yin-Yang Medical Classic." It was a very old and dirty book, like a cheap street book that no one would buy, but he didn't know who had put it there.

Mo Zhitao opened the first page, which read, "This book is given to the one with a karmic connection." The second page read, "The Dao gives birth to one, one gives birth to two, two give birth to three, and three give birth to all things. All things carry yin and embrace yang, and the interplay of qi brings harmony."

This was the preface of the "Yin-Yang Medical Classic," which was divided into sections on acupuncture, pulse diagnosis, and prescriptions, all explained through the five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water.

This book seemed quite good.

Mo Zhitao read it carefully. The "Yin-Yang Medical Classic" wasn't very thick, and he read through it in half an hour. However, he found that although he could remember the content, it was very profound, and much of it was beyond his understanding as a master's student in traditional Chinese medicine.

The acupuncture, pulse diagnosis, and prescriptions in the book were different from modern traditional Chinese medicine. Mo Zhitao became more and more interested, even though he couldn't understand much. The medical classic revolved around the concept of yin and yang.

The human body also has yin and yang. If the yin and yang are out of balance, the body will become ill. By treating the body to balance the yin and yang, the body will not be sick.

Yin and yang in harmony? Mo Zhitao murmured. This concept was a bit strange, but the theory of yin and yang and the five elements was also mentioned in traditional Chinese medicine, though it was only briefly touched upon and not emphasized as the core principle of all medical treatment.

I'll study it more when I get back, Mo Zhitao thought.

This book is a bit strange. Since it's an old book, I might as well take it back and read it. It would be a waste if it stayed here, Mo Zhitao thought.

Traditional Chinese medicine is not very popular nowadays, let alone the concept of yin and yang in harmony. But Mo Zhitao loved traditional Chinese medicine and once had the grand ideal of using it to save the world.

Mo Zhitao looked outside. This was a separate room, and the old man outside wouldn't notice what he was doing.

With this thought, Mo Zhitao hid the "Yin-Yang Medical Classic" in his clothes, stood up, and walked out. The old man was already lying on a chair with his eyes closed, and Mo Zhitao quickly left the library.

When Mo Zhitao left, the old man opened his eyes, looked at Mo Zhitao's departing back, and then closed his eyes again.

Leaving the library, Mo Zhitao breathed a sigh of relief. It was his first time stealing, and he decided to go back to his rental room and read the "Yin-Yang Medical Classic" in detail, hoping to understand the medical content inside.

In the acupuncture section, there were general acupuncture, qi acupuncture, and air acupuncture. Qi acupuncture? He couldn't do that; he didn't know qigong.

As Mo Zhitao passed the hospital building, a beautiful young girl ran towards him, "Doctor Mo, Big Brother Mo."

The girl looked like a middle school student, young and delicate, about 15 or 16 years old. She was more beautiful than a flower, especially her bright, lively eyes.

"You, you are?" Mo Zhitao was startled.

"Big Brother Mo, don't you recognize me? I'm Long Yujiao, your adopted sister." The girl's expression darkened, "Is it because I don't have money that you don't want to help me?"

"No, why wouldn't I help you?" Mo Zhitao blurted out. The image of the girl slowly came back to his mind.

Long Yujiao looked at the doctor's on-duty room, hesitated, and then said, "Should we still see the doctor there? I went there to find you, but you weren't there, and there were no other doctors."

With that, Long Yujiao walked over, and Mo Zhitao followed.

When they got there, Long Yujiao blushed and closed the door. Then she started to take off her clothes.

"Yujiao, what are you doing?" Mo Zhitao asked, startled. Although there were no doctors on duty at noon, this seemed a bit inappropriate.

"Big Brother Mo, didn't you tell me to take off my clothes for the examination? You did it last time, and you said if I did this ten times, my stomach wouldn't hurt anymore..." Long Yujiao said sadly, "Don't you want to help me anymore?"

"I'll help you, but don't do this." Mo Zhitao said, looking at Long Yujiao.

However, Mo Zhitao's eyes widened as Long Yujiao had already taken off her long shirt and pants, revealing her white body. At her age, she was already wearing a bra, and the small, round peaks made him swallow hard, feeling very hot, as if he were about to have a fever.
