While the matter of the money here had yet to receive a response, Leng Wuxing had news. The day after sending off Old Feng and his group, Leng Wuxing informed him on QQ.
"Old Three, the lawyer team thing is settled. I've connected you with Shida, but the specifics of the case and the fees will have to be discussed by you. One of their senior partners will be on a business trip to Shanghai the day after tomorrow and wants to meet with you to talk about it."
"Alright, I'll go to Shanghai tonight. I'll look up their address in a bit." Ji Feng, smoking a Lique, replied to the message. It just so happened that his home was about to start formal renovations from the next day, so this saved him from having to stay in a hotel. He might as well go directly to Shanghai.
"Damn, why are you going so early? But whatever, you're free now anyway. However, they won't be interested in small cases."
"This one is definitely not a small case. I've already prepared 300 million for the lawyer fees. I must cut a piece of fat meat from South Korea. Damn, my things can't be occupied by South Korea for decades for nothing."
"Damn, good job. It's been a few days since we last met, and you've become a big shot. What is it that's worth so much to you?" Ji Feng's words clearly piqued Leng Wuxing's interest, and he couldn't help but send a drooling emoji.
Ji Feng smiled and raised his eyebrows, replying, "An island, but it's one left by my great-grandfather. I only found it when I was tidying up the old house. It was hidden inside that Yuan Dynasty blue-and-white porcelain. By the way, Old Feng has already taken the polychrome vase."
Then Ji Feng changed the topic to the Yuan Dynasty blue-and-white porcelain, recounting the transaction process to Leng Wuxing. He wasn't worried that Dean Feng would switch the items; even if they tried to replicate it in a week, they couldn't. The key was to get Leng Wuxing to urge the payment for him.
Finally, he instructed Leng Wuxing not to tell anyone about the island. Ji Feng didn't want to cause a stir. If he didn't get the island back and just caused trouble, it would be pure suffering.
After noting down the phone number, Ji Feng chatted with Leng Wuxing for a while, left a message for the second and fourth brothers, saying he would be going to Shanghai in the next few days, and asked the second brother to book a hotel for him. He then packed his things and left home with Xiao Gua and Xiao Lan.
The two Husky-like Parisians, though very well-behaved, had different characteristics. The male had blue eyes, and Ji Feng named him Xiao Lan. The female was very gentle, always acting like a good baby, whether in front of him or Xiao Lan, and he named her Xiao Gua.
Of course, this was only in front of him. When faced with strangers, the two little guys would transform 180 degrees, their fur almost standing on end. The interior decorators were quite startled when they came to measure the dimensions. If not for Ji Feng holding them back, the two little guys might have really attacked them, regardless of the young lady present.
Jiangcheng is not too far from Shanghai, but it's not close either. It takes a few hours by high-speed train. However, Ji Feng decided to drive, as pets are not allowed on the high-speed train. Moreover, Ji Feng didn't want to put the two little guys back into the Shenlong space; it was better to keep them with him to build a bond.
While driving to a service area, he received a call from the second brother. Knowing Ji Feng was only halfway there, he wasn't in a hurry. He sent the hotel address to Ji Feng's phone and chatted for a while. After Ji Feng finished his cigarette, he hung up and continued his journey.
Driving leisurely, Ji Feng arrived at the hotel in Shanghai around midnight. He parked his car in the underground parking lot, went to the front desk with his ID to get an electronic key, and ordered some late-night snacks before going upstairs.
The next day was Sunday, and he spent the day with the second brother and his wife, giving them gifts and blessings. He then accompanied them on a tour of Shanghai. This was Ji Feng's first time in Shanghai, and he visited places like the Oriental Pearl Tower and the Bund, staying out until late at night before sending them back home and returning to the hotel alone.
After a good night's sleep, he went to the restaurant for breakfast, fed the two little guys until they were full, and put the copy of the Jeju Island ownership transfer agreement into his bag. He left the two little guys to guard the room and went out.
It took no more than ten minutes to walk to the Shida Law Firm's office building. He took the elevator directly to the 12th floor, explained his purpose at the reception, and was led into a small meeting room where the receptionist served him a cup of coffee.
Looking around the well-enclosed meeting room, Ji Feng couldn't help but marvel at the law firm's confidentiality measures. Once the door was closed, no sound from outside could be heard. However, this also meant that if something bad happened in the meeting room, no one outside would know.
After nearly half an hour, a fashionably dressed woman in her forties pushed open the meeting room door. Seeing Ji Feng, she smiled slightly and said, "You must be Mr. Ji. Hello, I am Partner Patna from Shida's U.S. headquarters. Thank you for choosing Shida."
Seeing the Asian woman and hearing her broken Chinese, Ji Feng couldn't help but frown slightly. He then switched to English, "You're not American?"
Patna laughed and gestured for him to sit, saying, "I am American now, but I immigrated to the U.S. after graduating from university. I lived in Japan before that." Hearing Ji Feng's fluent English, Patna, who had been a bit worried about communication, also switched to English.
Ji Feng rubbed his forehead, feeling a bit hesitant. It wasn't that he didn't trust the Japanese, but he needed a stable team. He would eventually have to sue the Japanese government, and he didn't want to be betrayed halfway by this Japanese woman, which would be no fun.
"Are you doubting my Japanese heritage, Mr. Ji? Please don't doubt my professional competence. Even if you plan to sue the Japanese government, I can assure you that you will win." Patna, noticing Ji Feng's hesitation, frowned slightly.
She understood the conflicts between China and Japan but also acknowledged the mistakes Japan had made. It was precisely to pursue legal justice that she had angrily left for the U.S. over twenty years ago. She had almost never lost a case in the past twenty years, which was why she had been promoted to senior partner.
"I'm sorry, I apologize for my previous thoughts." Ji Feng thought for a moment and let it go. At worst, he could find someone else to sue the Japanese government in the future. At least this case wouldn't hinder him.
"Alright, I accept your apology. Could Mr. Ji please tell me about the matter you are entrusting to us? We need to conduct a feasibility analysis before we can provide you with reasonable advice." Patna's frown eased, and she nodded, accepting Ji Feng's apology.
Ji Feng looked at her, opened his bag, and pushed the copy of the ownership agreement to her, saying, "My requirement is to get back the intact inheritance left by my great-grandfather as soon as possible."
Patna, who had been calm when she sat down, stood up abruptly after a quick glance at the agreement. She looked at Ji Feng with a shocked expression, her voice trembling, "Mr. Ji, are you joking? I mean, is this agreement real and not fabricated by someone else? I apologize, but this matter is too serious for me not to have doubts. As far as I know, the South Korean government would never sign such a treaty, and I believe no country in the world would."
Tomorrow is the Dragon Boat Festival. I wish everyone a happy Dragon Boat Festival. Remember to eat zongzi, hehe.
