Chapter 8: The Fish Dies, the Net Breaks

Suddenly, the Dark Night Cat Demon leaped up, abandoning the Moon Sleep who had been attacking it, and clawed at another attacking team member, Yangguan.

"Ah, sorry!" Yangguan, a new player, couldn't avoid such a quick attack and hurriedly apologized. This was all because Moon Sleep had been giving the three new players a lesson, instilling in them the team rule that the output (OT) is always the fault of the damage dealer, never the main tank (MT).

"Stop, don't attack," Moon Sleep quickly stopped Yangguan from retaliating and rushed forward to try to regain aggro. However, in that short moment, the Dark Night Cat Demon had already scratched Yangguan a few times and then pounced on another team member.

"Damn, chain OT! Are you guys messing with me?" Moon Sleep roared in anger. The attacked team member was flustered, and being a cloth-wearing mage player, he couldn't withstand the Dark Night Cat Demon's frenzied attack, his health dropping rapidly. Standing under a tree outside the forest, Jun Moxiao watched coldly. Moon Sleep realized something was wrong; Jun Moxiao wasn't a novice. It was clearly too early for an OT, so how could he have misjudged?

"There won't be an OT, heal quickly." Moon Sleep could only shout this, but there was still no response.

The Dark Night Cat Demon's claw was already upon him, but Moon Sleep's reaction suddenly sped up. He blocked the claw with a horizontal sword strike, and after sliding away, immediately followed up with an upward thrust, the same skilled attack he used when he first engaged the monster. Moon Sleep's hands suddenly stopped slipping.

However, this time, his combo wasn't as smooth because the cat demon was now in a frenzied state, its accelerated movement and attacks making it hard for Moon Sleep to keep up. The follow-up thrust missed, and the cat demon bit him instead.

"Hurry up and heal!!!" Moon Sleep was desperate; although he could take more damage than the cloth mage and Yangguan, he wasn't invincible.

"Heal what?"

"Heal my health!"

"What's healing? I only see you bleeding."

"You..." Moon Sleep was speechless with anger.

"Too bad, if you could solo the hidden boss, you could have changed the loot distribution to captain's choice before engaging. That way, even if the team members left in dissatisfaction, the hidden boss would still be yours."

"But unfortunately, your skills aren't enough, so you have to rely on the team to kill the boss. So you deliberately controlled the aggro, letting the Dark Night Cat Demon OT at the right time to clear out the team members, leaving the weakened boss for you to deal with alone. The loot would naturally be safe in your pocket. Whether the dungeon can be cleared or not is far less important compared to the hidden boss."

Jun Moxiao's words made Moon Sleep break into a sweat. He hadn't expected this guy, who had only spoken once on the journey, to see through his entire plan. Indeed, Yangguan and the others were deliberately controlled to be OT and killed by the Dark Night Cat Demon. His original plan was for the healer to continuously heal the three people, thus gaining aggro. But he hadn't expected Jun Moxiao to abandon the healing of one of the mages. Had this guy seen through his plan from the start? Knowing there was no way to save the others, he also deliberately controlled the aggro, letting his own aggro rise, and then not healing himself, letting the Dark Night Cat Demon kill him?

"Brother..." Moon Sleep, realizing this person wasn't easy to deal with, hurriedly began to persuade him: "At this point, let's not argue about this. We don't even know those three people. Now, let's work together to take down the cat demon, and we each have a fifty percent chance of getting the loot. Isn't that great?"

"Fifty percent? I prefer one hundred percent!"

"Alright..." Moon Sleep gritted his teeth, "Loot usually doesn't drop just one item. You can choose what you need first, and I'll give it up. The rest we can roll for, and I'll let you have all the gear." Without the healer's support, Moon Sleep knew he couldn't hold on, so he had to make a concession.

"That's hard to believe!"

"What do you want then?" Moon Sleep's speech sped up; his health had already been scratched away by the cat demon. In its frenzied state, he couldn't handle the cat demon, and he had to focus on negotiating with Ye Xiu, which was extremely awkward. He had secretly noted Jun Moxiao's name, vowing to make this guy pay.

"I don't care what you want, just die in peace!"

"You... you're crazy, if I die, you won't survive either. Then no one will get the loot." His health was down to a quarter.

"Brother, there's no need to go to such extremes!!" His health was down to a fifth.

"Are you an idiot?!" His health was down to a seventh.

"Jun Moxiao, do you want to be kicked out? Do you know the power of our Moon Wheel Guild?" His health was down to a ninth.

"You're finished!" His last bit of health.

"Damn..." The Dark Night Cat Demon's claw came down, and the world went quiet.

Jun Moxiao hadn't moved, but he hadn't disengaged either. After the Dark Night Cat Demon finished off Moon Sleep, it immediately pounced on him.

Ye Xiu smiled slightly, his left hand quickly tapping a few keys on the keyboard, and his right hand sliding the mouse. On the screen, Jun Moxiao's Thousand Changes Umbrella swung out, and the umbrella suddenly opened in an exaggerated manner, the ribs flipping up and converging at the tip, making it look like a spear.

The converged ribs accurately pierced the Dark Night Cat Demon's body.
