Chapter 7: The Dark Night Cat Demon

Glory directly supports voice chat, and it is very realistic, with only one channel: the current one. The distance between characters directly affects the volume of the sound, and the system has its own set of sound propagation calculations. "Forward." At Zhongyue Mian's command, the five continued to advance. The Green Forest, already dim, became even darker as a cloud covered the sun. The sound of their footsteps in the forest was particularly clear. No one spoke; everyone was fully focused on their surroundings.

"Yangguan, don't always look up. The Dark Night Cat Demon won't fall from the sky," Zhongyue Mian suddenly said. Glory is a first-person perspective game, and the screen shows a realistic human view. Due to the detailed graphics, when the character looks up, the player must move the perspective to look up. Zhongyue Mian saw that Yangguan was always looking up and couldn't help but criticize him.

"Ha ha ha." Amidst the laughter, Ye Xiu suddenly heard a rapid rustling sound from the edge of the forest. This sound wasn't footsteps; it was the friction of a body against branches and leaves.

"It's here." Ye Xiu, seeing that typing might be too slow, quickly shouted, still with a cigarette in his mouth. At the same time, his fingers lightly tapped, and Jun Moxiao jumped back, turned, and aimed at the direction from which the Dark Night Cat Demon was coming.

Seeing Jun Moxiao's actions, everyone knew that this silent brother had made a timely warning.

"Everyone, fall back." Zhongyue Mian shouted, but he moved forward instead of back, intending to become the Dark Night Cat Demon's first target.

The other three also fell back, standing in line with Jun Moxiao, maintaining a few steps' distance from Zhongyue Mian. Everyone held their breath, but the rustling sound of the Dark Night Cat Demon moving through the forest suddenly stopped.

"What..." Yangguan had just said two words when a black shadow flew out of the forest, accompanied by a sharp cat cry, and the first attack was aimed at the frontmost Zhongyue Mian.

"Come on!" Zhongyue Mian was not afraid at all and swung his sword. The Dark Night Cat Demon was small and fast, and this type of monster was very challenging to control. However, Zhongyue Mian's luck was good, and his timing was perfect. He struck the Dark Night Cat Demon mid-air, and then rolled to the side, avoiding the cat demon's attack, saving Jun Moxiao from using a prepared healing spell.

The Dark Night Cat Demon's attack missed, but it reacted quickly, flipping and clawing again. Zhongyue Mian blocked with his sword, and there was a "clang" as the sword deflected the claw. Zhongyue Mian took a half-step back and then raised his sword for an upward strike.

Impressive! Ye Xiu couldn't help but admire it. Zhongyue Mian's timing for the parry was perfect, and the upward strike was swift and clean, showing his extremely skilled operation. Had he misjudged Zhongyue Mian's level? This guy was better than he thought!

After the upward strike, the Dark Night Cat Demon was airborne, and Zhongyue Mian followed with a series of attacks: a thrust, a ground-breaking slash, and a final ghost slash that sent the Dark Night Cat Demon flying. The chain of attacks earned loud cheers from the team. Zhongyue Mian, however, did not let his guard down, and after two more strikes, he shouted, "Start the kill."

The three damage dealers were already prepared and immediately swung their weapons, using the skills they had learned. Zhongyue Mian no longer dodged and weaved, relying on Jun Moxiao's healing spells to keep the Dark Night Cat Demon in a stable position.

The situation was well maintained, and the Dark Night Cat Demon's cries of pain echoed through the forest, exciting everyone. The three true new players had already learned the value of hidden bosses from Zhongyue Mian. Everyone was eagerly beating the Dark Night Cat Demon, but at this moment, Ye Xiu had a strange thought.

"Red blood, healing spell ready." The Dark Night Cat Demon's health was quickly reduced to less than one-tenth, a state players often referred to as "red blood." Many bosses have new tricks when they reach red blood, but the Green Forest was just a beginner dungeon, and the bosses didn't have these special abilities. However, the Dark Night Cat Demon was different; it was a hidden boss and deserved its title.

However, the Dark Night Cat Demon's change was simple: it went into a frenzy, increasing its attack speed and damage. This made the healing pressure greater.

Ye Xiu estimated that with Zhongyue Mian's skill, it wouldn't be difficult to survive this phase by dodging a bit. However, Zhongyue Mian continued to stubbornly fight the Dark Night Cat Demon, and his counterattacks seemed weak.

"Out of mana?" Ye Xiu glanced at the team panel, but that wasn't the issue. This sudden lack of power from Zhongyue Mian seemed to confirm his earlier suspicions. Just as Ye Xiu was about to speak, he heard Zhongyue Mian shout, "Damn, I pulled the hate!!"
