Gongzi Yu: What is the main character's golden finger? It's the more than an hour of information the future fan told him at the beginning, which he only vaguely remembers. So, the question is, which school is the best for digging? Look for Lanxiang in Shandong, China. The main character can't copy the works of current big names, so he can only write original works. However, if you write an original novel and say it's so popular, topping the monthly charts with an average of 100,000 views, we readers won't have any sense of immersion. Ni Baifo: I know this writing style is not rewarding and lacks immersion. Copying books can make one a god in one step, which is very satisfying, but it leads to a vicious cycle of copying one, two, three books, and eventually becomes boring. However, our main character can progress gradually. The first book might flop or be discontinued, but he can accumulate experience and connections. The second book can be a minor success, enough for him to show off in high school. The third book can make him a god, and by then, he might have moved on to a university setting. We can appropriately introduce the manga and game industries, and Tong Yan's sealed memories will gradually resurface. With his understanding of the trends, he will have more opportunities to develop. There's so much to write about here.

Actually, we can see Tong Yan as a thread that ties together the journey of online literature over ten years. Along this journey, we can see through his eyes the dropout Tangma, Dongge in a relationship with a female fan, Er Gen who doesn't hesitate to fight, and Ji Yu who is unique. I think this would be very interesting. If Tong Yan steals their works, the ten years of online literature without their participation wouldn't be what I want to write about...

After all this talk, it's just that I have a psychological barrier to stealing others' work. Even when I wrote entertainment articles, Mai Chong and He Mu had the same attitude.

Nian Hua: I always feel that Song Rao will change after going to college!

There won't be that sudden feeling of falling in love anymore. Time and distance make people grow!

Song Rao and Tong Yan should be considered a pure first love!

Will Lao Fo suddenly turn into a literary youth and emphasize that first love never has a good ending?

Lao Fo, don't get a literary youth disease. Isn't simple love better?

Ni Baifo: The question of who the female lead is and how many there are often appears in the book review section. I'll answer them all at once. I can't guarantee who the female lead will be or how many there will be. The final ending might not satisfy everyone, including the good brothers who supported me from the beginning. However, I can make the following promises: 1. The male lead will not be a scumbag; he takes relationships seriously. 2. There will be no cuckold plots, and I will not make readers uncomfortable. 3. The ending will definitely be a grand happy ending. 4. I welcome discussions about the female lead. I can absorb nutrients from your discussions to improve the female characters. Thank you to all the friends in the book review section!

Huang Ye Lou: Question! Will the main character only be involved in the online literature circle? Will he invest in ** or write a song? Maybe give a song lyrics?

Ni Baifo: As long as it's related to online literature and the entertainment industry, it's possible, but I will act within my capabilities and with reason.

Doudoubi2: I was also born in the late 80s, in a small town, but I wasn't as detached from the world as the main character! I could go online in junior high, and almost all my classmates, even the good students, had been to internet cafes.

And in high school, I was also 16, the same age as the main character, and I went to a key high school, so I can imagine what high school life was like, but the main character is too peculiar.

When I saw the main character wanting to write a novel but afraid of affecting his studies, carefully planning to write only one day a week, I was speechless. Brother, don't you have commuting students at your school? Can a closed school confine a stupid kid for a whole week?

Furthermore, the main character's small shoulders bear a huge burden, and he has to carefully experiment one or two times before jumping a fence. I was really frustrated reading this. The female classmates in my high school class were all experts at jumping fences to buy things after class, and the main character is even worse than a girl.

When I saw the main character writing his first novel in an internet cafe, working hard to write over 10,000 words, only to lose them all due to a power outage, I thought he deserved it. Who told you to be so stupid and cute? I wanted to clap and cheer.

Another point is the author's ideology. High school studies are important—how important? The main character has writing skills on par with the big names, and the book is centered around writing novels, but he still suffers [believing that carefully skipping classes every weekend to write a week's worth of words is the right thing to do]. This ideology is a big problem.

The novel's original intention is good, but this main character makes me speechless. The prologue is completely unnecessary [it's not a golden finger, it doesn't increase immersion, and it's logically inconsistent].

Sigh! Overall, the work makes me feel conflicted and frustrated. Making the main character so pure, or rather, naive and childish, completely lacks immersion.

Ni Baifo: First, thank you for writing the first negative long review for "Born to Write," but I also need to refute some points.

I was born in 1990 in a rural area, but I started studying in the county from junior high. I was even more "detached from the world" than the main character. I didn't know how to use the internet until college, and it was only then that I and my dorm mates started staying up all night online, learning about the restore card on internet cafe computers. So, don't use your and your surroundings' cases to guess the whole world. A single leaf can block your view of the mountain; the world is diverse.

Also, the key high school you attended might be different from the one I wrote about. Yangping No. 1 High School is based on the famous Hengshui No. 1 High School, but it's a weaker version. Otherwise, there would be no free time at all. They run to eat, and every day is just studying. Can a boarding student at such a school go online every day? It's a fantasy, and even commuting students don't have the time. So, schools are different.

Furthermore, I don't think it's wrong to emphasize the importance of high school studies. Some of my readers are high school students, like Nian Hua. I don't want them to think that writing novels is so easy and profitable that they should give up studying. In the book, Tong Yan succeeds because he is the main character. If it were someone else, they would almost certainly fail. I asked some high school students on Longkong who wrote books during high school and junior high, and almost none of them succeeded, wasting their time. Humans are social animals, and Tong Yan can't ignore his parents' feelings and completely abandon his studies. Besides, does he know for sure that he will become a god? Just having the writing skills of a big name doesn't guarantee success. So, leaving a backup plan isn't a bad thing.

Finally, about the prologue. If I didn't write it this way, some people, including you, might say, "I've never heard of this writer, Tong Yan. How did he suddenly appear? It's too inconsistent, I won't read it, what a load of nonsense!" This is a lesson I learned from my previous book, "The Rise of a Mogul." Readers want a reasonable explanation for the unreasonable, so I arranged for a future person. He is a trigger, making Tong Yan start writing ten years early. And it can't be said that he doesn't have a golden finger; he knows a lot about the future, he just hasn't remembered it yet.

That's all for now.

NO5.

Wu Feng Ni Ren: Has anyone mentioned the differences or improvements between this book and "Dream Back to 97"?

Ni Baifo: The difference is that "Dream Back to 97" covers from 1997 to 2004, while this book covers from 2005 to 2015. Both write about online literature and起点, which is a form of tribute. Additionally, this book is not a copycat style; except for the main character, the rest of the history remains unchanged.

As for improvements, I can't say for sure, but I hope to write a story that even outsiders can understand, to let more people know and care about online writers and online novels.
