Chapter 11

Under X Battle Royale.

It is an event where only players with an initial job level of 10 or below can participate.

The rules are, as the name suggests, a battle royale.

Participants fight each other, and the one who survives until the end is the winner.

Generally, this type of game involves about 100 players, but this time, all players who have declared their participation will be thrown into a single map.

The exact number of participants is not disclosed, but it is said that there are tens of thousands of players.

Of course, a map that can accommodate such a large number of players is entirely new.

A special event map, separate from the usual Nexalis world, is prepared.

Information about the map is completely confidential.

There is no way to scout it in advance.

Players are teleported to a random location on the map at the start of the battle, and they can only continue fighting in the gradually shrinking area.

There are three elements necessary for victory.

The first is, of course, gameplay.

Do you aim to survive without fighting as much as possible?

Or do you aim to win by defeating enemies one after another?

It's unclear which is the right approach.

But, I have my answer.

I will fight according to the rules I have set for myself in this event.

The second is equipment and skills.

You can only bring the equipment you are wearing into the event.

You cannot bring spare equipment or items.

You can use all the skills you have acquired.

Since the level is limited to 10 or below, the number of skills you have collected up to that level will determine the outcome.

You won't gain skills by just following others and sharing experience points.

In my case, I am confident that I have a lot of skills.

The last element is the collection of event-specific items.

In a typical battle royale game, you collect guns and armor while moving, but in this event, you start with weapons, armor, and skills.

Instead, you have "Recovery Chips," "Status Enhancement Chips," and "Special Action Chips."

"Recovery Chips" restore HP, MP, and status conditions.

"Status Enhancement Chips" enhance your stats during the event when obtained.

"Special Action Chips" are one-time use and allow you to perform a special action.

According to the official website, examples include the "High Jump Chip" for jumping high, the "High-Speed Dash Chip" for running fast, the "Invisibility Chip" to become invisible, and the "Barrier Chip" to create a barrier.

All of these chips have powerful effects, so the number of chips you can collect directly affects the outcome of the game.

My playstyle doesn't align well with the collection aspect, but I need to try to collect as many as possible.

"Well, the event is about to start."

Players who have applied to participate in the event must wait in a city.

If you are in the field, you will be automatically disqualified.

It's a useful feature if you went on an adventure thinking you could return quickly, but ended up progressing further than expected.

It's frustrating to be forced back just before reaching a boss.

"Attention to players participating in the Under X Battle Royale. You will be teleported to the event map in 100 seconds. Please check your equipment promptly."

The system voice echoes in my mind.

It seems there are other players participating in the event around me, and everyone is trembling.

It's good to have clear rivals.

I should check my equipment and status just in case.

By the way, my equipment hasn't changed since the gorilla battle.

◆ Equipment

Head: —

Right Hand: Spider Shooter

Left Hand: (Spider Shooter)

Arms: Forest Sage's Fist

Torso: Beginner's Shirt

Legs: Beginner's Pants

Feet: Beginner's Shoes

Decorations: —, —, —

Any player who sees this would probably point out, "Why don't you change your beginner's equipment?"

The reason is simple: comfort.

I have gotten used to this equipment.

Of course, store-bought equipment is inferior in performance, but it is better than beginner's equipment.

If you prioritize stats, you should definitely replace it.

Especially, you should equip something on your head, which is currently empty.

However, I won't do that.

Especially since I am participating in an event where one death means the end...

I haven't worn anything on my head before, so suddenly wearing something would feel strange.

It would throw off my aim with the bow.

I don't want to wear unfamiliar shoes during the event.

They would definitely make it harder to move.

I won't be fooled by the slight stat boost.

I choose equipment based on comfort...

It makes me feel like a VR game pro.

There was no concept of comfort in previous games.

And here is my final status after distributing 10 levels of enhancement points and showing the skill and equipment adjustments!

◆ Status

Name: Kyuji

Job: Archer

Lv: 10/20

HP: 50/50

MP: 50/50

Attack: 45 (+30)

Defense: 44 (+36)

Magic Attack: 10

Magic Defense: 6

Speed: 11

Range: 140 (+90)

Skills: [Archery I]

[Infight Arrow], [Bounce Arrow], [Clear Arrow]

[Steady Sniper Stance]

The +6 defense is from the beginner's equipment.

The shirt, pants, and shoes each provide +2.

Together, they add up to +6.

[Clear Arrow]

It has low power but fires a transparent arrow.

Clear Arrow is a skill I obtained as a reward for reaching level 10.

An invisible arrow is hard to avoid unless you have a sharp sense.

However, it has low power and can't instantly kill an enemy, and if they are hit, they can figure out the direction it came from.

It also consumes a lot of MP, so it's not a skill to use without thinking.

It should be used more for psychological warfare, making the enemy feel they are being attacked by an invisible force.

"10 seconds until teleportation... 9... 8..."

Here we go.

I will survive and show them.

"Zero!"

The city scenery disappeared in an instant, and a vast grassland spread before me.

The teleportation seems to have been successful, but... this is bad.

There is no high ground for sniping or any place to hide!

The worst possible start!

In such a situation, you should lie down and hide in the grass.

No, since it's the beginning, I should look for a building and collect chips...

"Oh."

O-Other players...

They are running away from me, heading into the mountains from the grassland.

They are not being careless.

It's a correct judgment based on the common sense that attacks won't reach this distance.

But, not for me...

With practiced movements, I drew my bow and fired an arrow.

From now on, I will update basically once a day!

There may be multiple updates depending on the scene!

And thank you for all the bookmarks and evaluations!

I am truly grateful for your reviews and feedback!
