Tulus never imagined that these humiliating water droplets could actually kill him. The droplets grew more numerous, denser, and colder, yet he couldn't hit his target. This skeleton could actually fly!
A flying skeleton? Who would believe such a thing? Yet it happened right in front of Tulus. When he threw a lava fireball, a gust of wind swept Ang into the air, easily avoiding the lava fireball.
Tulus, completely unprepared for this change, couldn't even lock his gaze on the target. He could only watch helplessly as the lava fireball hit the ground, creating a large pit with bubbling hot lava.
The magical reaction from Ang grew stronger, and the raindrops hitting Tulus became more frequent, with the temperature dropping. This caused more heat to be taken away from Tulus.
By the time Tulus had thrown a fireball and a lava explosion, Ang had already doused him with dozens of waves of water droplets. As white smoke continuously rose, the lava flowing over Tulus's body began to form a hard crust.
Tulus gathered his strength for another lava explosion, his eyes fixed on Ang, locking his gaze.
Once a spell is cast, it can be controlled to some extent, known as gaze locking.
The more elemental damage a spell deals, the easier it is to lock the gaze. The more physical damage a spell deals, like the lava explosion, the harder it is to lock the gaze. It can only roughly change direction, not bend in mid-air like a fireball, and certainly not float left or right like Ang's water droplets.
But there was no choice, as Ang was a skeleton immune to elemental damage.
Enduring the water droplets, Tulus formed another lava fireball, but as soon as it took shape in his hand, the water droplets hit it, producing a hiss and a cloud of white smoke, dimming the lava fireball.
"Ah!" Tulus exerted more power, and the lava fireball became hot again.
Hisss, another wave of water droplets hit it, and the heat dropped again. The lava fireball's temperature never rose, and in the end, Tulus had to throw the unformed lava fireball, his eyes fixed on Ang.
As expected, the lava fireball, almost a rock, grazed past Ang, hitting nothing.
Even while dodging, Ang's magical fluctuations didn't stop. The water droplets became more frequent, and the temperature dropped even further. Eventually, they turned into ice droplets, like small needles, piercing Tulus's lava skin.
Tulus finally panicked, flapping his wings and charging at Ang. If he couldn't hit him with a fireball, he would tear him apart with his hands.
Ang turned and ran. He realized that the lava demon was very strong, and if he couldn't cut him down, he would have to use the same strategy as the small zombie. The small zombie had relied on its speed to knock out the gray bone skeletons one by one.
Ang ran very fast, and when he used the pollen spell on himself, he flew. Even so, the water droplets didn't stop, only the frequency was halved. As long as water droplets hit Tulus, the demon's heat continued to dissipate.
Tulus, enduring the water droplets, flapped his wings and chased for a while, but he couldn't catch up. His skin was already partially hardened, and if this continued, he might really be killed.
Heaven, what kind of skeleton is this? Why does his magic never run out? He's been doused with hundreds of waves, and it still hasn't stopped.
This is too much. I'm done. Tulus made a quick decision and turned to run in the opposite direction.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, as expected of Tulus, you know when to bend and when to break. Running already?" Phyllin, who had been cheering from a distance, mocked. He hated demons for this very reason. They were too cunning and slippery. When there was no danger, they were arrogant, but as soon as danger appeared, they vanished without a trace. The previous epidemic was definitely caused by demons, but there was no evidence.
If Ang hadn't caught up with him this time, they would have found nothing but a few footprints.
A few footprints weren't enough to accuse the Demon Valley. They would just deny it, saying, "A few footprints, and you accuse us of the Demon Valley? If I pick up two bones, can I accuse you of the skeletons attacking my succubus?"
These footprints might even have been left intentionally by Tulus.
Want to run? Ang turned and chased after him.
No matter how Tulus ran, Ang stayed not too far behind, and the water droplets never stopped.
Seeing that this wouldn't work, Tulus roared and stomped the ground.
The ground cracked in a web-like pattern around Tulus's large feet, with flames and lava surging up. Two lava giants, larger than Tulus, emerged and charged at Ang.
Taking this opportunity, Tulus fled, flapping his wings and quickly sliding away.
"Ao!" The small zombie ran over and headbutted the lava giant. There was a dull thud, and the lava giant looked down, confused, feeling something had hit it.
The small zombie bounced back, falling to the ground. He touched his head and saw that the spot where he had hit the lava giant was burned.
Attacked! Attacked! The lava giant's body flared with a ring of flames, and it lifted its foot to stomp on the small zombie.
The small zombie, holding his burned head, ran away, luring the lava giant away.
"Sir, leave it to me!" Esk, who had been cheering from a distance, finally got his chance. He fired a Death Arrow, and the arrow of death energy hit the lava giant, extinguishing a large part of the flames.
The lava giant, now attacked, abandoned Ang and charged at Esk.
But this delay allowed Tulus to pull away. Ang looked at the distant demon and the sky, knowing he couldn't catch up because it was getting dark, and the Resting Wind was about to blow.
If the Resting Wind didn't blow, the skeleton's endurance would definitely make Tulus vomit.
Ang stopped, ready to give up, but the angel skeleton ran to him, pointed at the demon, then at itself, and finally at Ang's hand.
Holy Light? Why? It's not injured.
Ang didn't understand but still cast a Purification spell. Holy Light appeared in his palm, and the angel skeleton grabbed it with both hands, as if scooping up sand.
Can you scoop up light? Ang tilted his head, not knowing what the angel skeleton was doing.
But he was wrong. The Holy Light was 'scooped' up. The angel skeleton scooped the Holy Light from Ang's palm and stuffed it into its mouth.
A big question arose in Ang's soul. He looked at his palm, confused. How could the Holy Light be scooped up?
The angel skeleton pushed him, urgently pointing at his palm.
More? Ang cast another Purification spell.
The angel skeleton scooped up the Holy Light and stuffed it into its mouth, then looked up at him.
More? Ang kept casting Purification spells, and the angel skeleton kept scooping and stuffing. After sixty Holy Lights, its wings slowly lit up, becoming brighter with each Holy Light it consumed, finally giving it a taste of a Holy Light Angel.
Will it explode? Ang hesitated, unsure if he should continue feeding it Holy Light.
But the angel skeleton seemed satisfied. It turned to face the demon, spread its wings wide, and pushed its hands forward.
A massive beam of light burst forth, flashing and illuminating the entire sky.
Tulus, far away, was blinded, and his entire body was swallowed by the beam of light. When the light disappeared, Tulus was smoking and fell to the ground.
Phyllin and Esk's jaws and eyes dropped to the ground. Phyllin stammered, "Holy... Holy Light Flash, Holy Light Flash! Is this possible? Too... too freaky, right?"
The angel skeleton, having released the Holy Light Flash, fell to the ground, its flesh and feathers gradually breaking apart and turning to ash.
