The two of them got on the bus and after a transfer, they arrived at the Xishan District Detention Center, located in a remote suburb. The prison guard inspected the items they brought and then led them to the visiting room. After a while, Luo Sheng appeared in front of Du Long and Ji Yinsan, escorted by a guard.

Luo Sheng was wearing a prisoner's uniform, his head shaved, and his hands cuffed. Additionally, there were two noticeable bruises on his face. Du Long frowned, wondering if his father had forgotten to arrange for someone to take care of him.

"Luo Sheng!" Ji Yinsan stood up, calling out excitedly. Luo Sheng was also excited to see Ji Yinsan, but when he saw Du Long smiling beside her, he became furious.

"Cousin, why is he here? Has he bullied you?" Luo Sheng glanced at Ji Yinsan and then glared fiercely at Du Long, as if trying to intimidate him into not bullying his cousin.

Ji Yinsan's face turned slightly red. She said, "Don't talk nonsense. Officer Du has been very good to me. You were the one who always bullied me when we were young. How dare you accuse others? Du Long smiled and said, "Yinsan, this time you're wrong about your cousin. Look, his hands are unharmed, which means he didn't fight back when he was hit. The person who hit him was probably Lu Min, during the break time. Am I right?"

Luo Sheng huffed and continued to glare at Du Long angrily. The guard beside them was surprised, as Du Long had 'guessed' correctly. Ji Yinsan gently rubbed the bruised areas on Luo Sheng's face, and then the cousins began their conversation. Du Long, finding it boring, soon noticed something interesting. Luo Sheng was tall and strong, while Ji Yinsan was petite and delicate, yet in their conversation, Ji Yinsan completely dominated, and Luo Sheng seemed to only listen. Was the difference in their status as cousins so great? Du Long looked at Luo Sheng through his sunglasses, trying to read his mind. Could this guy be secretly in love with his cousin?

The usual visiting time was only fifteen minutes, but the guard, thinking Du Long had some influence, extended it. After nearly half an hour, he reminded them that the visit was over. Ji Yinsan and Du Long left the detention center empty-handed. While waiting for the bus, Ji Yinsan asked, "Du Long, is my cousin really okay? How long will he be in jail?"

Du Long replied, "I can't guarantee anything, but all the evidence is in Luo Sheng's favor. If the judge and jury find his actions understandable, he might not have to serve time. A few months in the detention center should be enough."

"Oh..." Ji Yinsan nodded. Du Long had said this to her several times, but she was still worried. Each time he reassured her, she felt a bit more at ease, so she often brought it up unintentionally.

Overall, Ji Yinsan's first visit to the family was quite successful. Shi Yujin warmly welcomed her future daughter-in-law, and after chatting with Du Long for a while, Ji Yinsan went to the kitchen to help. Her diligence and skill in household chores made Shi Yujin even more fond of her, and she began to fantasize about retiring from the kitchen. After the dishes were prepared and set on the small round table, Du Long went to get the rice.
