Du Long had just sent Ji Yinsan downstairs when his phone suddenly rang. Hearing the clear and youthful voice, Ji Yinsan couldn't help but give Du Long a glare. Du Long, feeling embarrassed, looked down and saw that the call was from Mayor Ma. He said to Ji Yinsan in surprise, "I'll take this call first; it's from Mayor Ma..."
Ji Yinsan's eyes widened. Why would Mayor Ma call Du Long? Could this guy be making it up again?
The call connected, and Du Long smiled, "Uncle Ma, what new instructions do you have?"
Ma Guangming said solemnly, "Du Long, are you available now? There's an urgent matter, and I hope you can help me."
Du Long smiled, "Sure, no problem. What is it? I'm always ready to follow your instructions!"
Ma Guangming said sternly, "I hope you can go to Ming Cui Garden, villa number 304, as soon as possible. My wife is causing a commotion there. I don't want anyone else to know about this, so it can only be you."
Du Long frowned and said, "Uncle Ma, what do you want me to do?"
Ma Guangming said, "I can't show up myself; otherwise, my wife's temper will make things worse. The most important thing is to protect the lady in the villa, her name is Lin Yaxin. Try to protect her and prevent her from getting hurt. If you can stop the situation and calm down my wife and her brother, that would be best. But... sigh, that's impossible. Du Long, you decide what to do. If necessary, take Lin Yaxin away and find a place to settle her. If needed... you can use force."
Du Long replied cheerfully, "Alright, I understand. Uncle Ma, don't worry, I'll go right away."
Du Long hung up the phone decisively, leaving Ma Guangming speechless with the receiver still in his hand. This kid was really getting into the habit of hanging up on him. But thinking about it, there wasn't much else to instruct. Ma Guangming leaned back into the sofa, deeply sinking into the leather. Darkness and silence enveloped him, making him feel so lonely and helpless. He couldn't even protect the woman he loved, and he felt so incompetent and failed...
After receiving the task from the mayor, Du Long no longer had the mood to flirt with Ji Yinsan. He said solemnly, "Something has come up. I need to go immediately. I can't chat with you anymore."
Ji Yinsan, understanding, said, "Go ahead and take care of it. Be careful, and I'll go back."
Du Long hailed a taxi near Ji Yinsan's house and headed to Ming Cui Garden. Located in the Nangang District, Ming Cui Garden was situated by the beautiful Caohai Lake, far from the city center and Xishan District. It took about half an hour for the taxi to reach Ming Cui Garden.
"Villa number 304," Du Long said to the security guard.
The guard looked at Du Long in surprise, waved him through, and muttered to himself as the taxi entered the villa area, "Villa 304 is really lively tonight... I hope nothing bad happens..."
As Du Long approached the destination, he saw about seven or eight men and women gathered at the entrance of a villa, shouting insults. Six security guards were blocking the entrance to prevent them from rushing in.
Du Long got out of the taxi and looked at the group of men and women who were insulting the villa's female owner. He shouted, "What are you doing, surrounding my house? If you don't leave, I'll call the police!"
Du Long's voice was loud and clear, immediately drowning out the insults. Everyone turned to look at him. A woman in her thirties, slightly overweight, looked at Du Long in surprise and asked, "Is this your house?"
Du Long snorted, "If it's not mine, is it yours? Security, what's going on? Why are these people gathered at my door, cursing? Why haven't you called the police to arrest them? I haven't been short on management fees, have I?"
None of the security guards recognized Du Long, but they were experienced and didn't want to offend anyone. After the group had been cursing for a while, the guards had only called the homeowner, who had told them not to call the police and that he would send someone to handle it. Now, with Du Long making a grand entrance and claiming to be the homeowner, the security captain smiled and said, "Mr. Ma, you're finally back. I don't know why these people are causing a commotion at your door, but we've done our best to protect your interests and prevent them from rushing in. Now that you're back, let's talk and see what's going on."
The group of people had also recovered from their surprise. The taxi driver who had brought Du Long was still watching the commotion. The woman looked at Du Long disdainfully and said, "Is this your house? Do people who live in this villa area need to take a taxi?"
Du Long laughed coldly, "Who says rich people can't take taxis? If the security hadn't called me to say someone was causing a commotion at my door, would I have asked the driver to speed back? If my Bentley hadn't been dented and the driver hadn't stayed to negotiate with them, would I need to take a taxi back? Tell me, are you here because Liu Hong sent you? It's best if you leave before causing any damage. I'll ask Liu Hong for the repair costs, and if you don't leave, don't blame me for being unfriendly!"
The woman was Ma Guangming's wife, Xin Meiling. She wasn't a very careful thinker, and Du Long's words had already confused her.
A man in his thirties with a scruffy beard, Xin Meiling's older brother Xin Bo Fu, glared at Du Long and said, "Sis, don't listen to his nonsense. How old is he? How could he own such a big villa? This guy is also surnamed Ma. Could he be the bastard inside?"
As soon as Xin Bo Fu finished speaking, Du Long charged forward. Everyone saw a blur, and a loud slap echoed. Du Long's slap sent Xin Bo Fu spinning in place. When a young man in his twenties helped him stand, five red finger marks were clearly visible on his face.
"You dare to hit my brother!" The young man, Xin Bo Fu's younger brother Xin Shu Shou, saw his brother being hit and his eyes turned red. He let go of Xin Bo Fu and threw a punch at Du Long's face.
Du Long raised his left hand and firmly caught Xin Shu Shou's fist, then twisted it counterclockwise. Xin Shu Shou felt an overwhelming force and screamed as he fell to the ground, rolling like a tumbleweed.
At that moment, Du Long felt someone quickly approaching from his right. He turned his head and saw another man holding a baseball bat, charging at him. This man looked similar to Xin Bo Fu and Xin Shu Shou, and was about the same age, being Xin Meiling's second brother, Xin Zhong Lu.
Seeing his older brother hit and his younger brother fall, Xin Zhong Lu charged forward recklessly, swinging the bat at Du Long's right temple.
Du Long, seeing the aggressive attack, didn't plan to block it. Just as he was about to kick the man to the ground, a woman screamed and charged at Du Long, "You dare to hit my husband? I'll fight you to the death!"
Du Long's heart skipped a beat, and he sidestepped towards the woman. Xin Zhong Lu's swing missed, and he followed up with another swing at Du Long's face.
The woman had already reached Du Long and tried to grab his face. Du Long dodged and lightly pushed her back. She stumbled forward, and Xin Zhong Lu's bat hit her raised hands.
Xin Zhong Lu's swing wasn't hard enough, and the woman's hands made a loud crack, then hung limply by her sides. After a moment, she screamed in pain, "Oh my God! It hurts so much!"
Xin Zhong Lu stared in shock at his injured sister-in-law. Du Long shrugged and said to the security guards, "You all saw that. I didn't hit her with the bat."
The originally aggressive Xin family members were now in chaos. The two middle-aged women started cursing Du Long, but no one dared to attack him again. Xin Meiling, who was slightly more composed than her sisters-in-law, stopped the cursing and said coldly to Du Long, "What's your name? Do you know who I am? You dare to hit my family! Hmph, tell me your name, and you'll be in jail soon!"
