For Hailan, traveling through time and space to change the life and death of the Dongling Emperor would only mean the rebirth of Qin Ge in modern China.

Okay, please remember him. Because he also has an incarnation in Volume 2 which I will spoil if you want to. Basically, a lot of the buddhas and gods all went down to the mortal world and they all met in Dongling. It was a complicated mess of incarnations but it was fun once you unravel them and connect with their immortal selves.

When I read this the first time, my head exploded (and I might still be confused now), but you have to remember Long Hao (Long Feili’s original form as a dragon), and Zi Su (Xiao Qi’s first life as the 7th daughter of the previous Heavenly Emperor- and their tribulations before they got their angsty happy ending.

Anyway. To punctuate their story’s connection to Qingcheng, let’s recmember that due to some misunderstandings, Zi Su died. Long Hao realized that he really loved Zi Su andvowed to find her again in the next life. Later, he is reincarnated as Long Feili of Xi Liang, but Zi Su is on a different time and space– in modern China. Because of this disconnect, Fei Tian helped them be together through the Niguang Journal- if you can remember all those happenings when Zhu Qi arrived at Xining Street and was sent to Xi Liang by that blue-eyed man? That’s not Fei Tian. That was Xue Liujing, the original form of Bai Zhanfeng. Fei Tian basically gave him the journal (through Xiushu) and this propelled the plot of Tyrant.

Now when they went back to the Heavenly Realm, Fei Tian is thenundergoing his 81 calamities in the mortal world (only his subordinate Xiushu was left with Long Feili), so they other gods, particularly the 3 main Buddhas, took advantage of this time time to seize both positions. So even the in the Heavenly Realm there was chaos, and to which lead to Long Wushuang sealing off Xi Liang.

Now, although there is an attempt to conceal it here, I’m already spoiling it to you since it is already quite obvious, and is also in the blurb that Fei Tian (in his mortal calamity) is actually Shangguan Jinghong– the Dongling Emperor. So he is also incarnated as Qin Ge. Both of these reincarnations will help him receive the human sufferings he needed to receive for something that he vowed for. But these tribulations were also connected with his immortal life, since just like Long Hao, these are all because of some love story.

Hence, Xiao Qi took it to her hands to give back the favor that Fei Tian did to her back then that allowed her to be reunited to Long Hao aka Long Feili. So is very intent in sending Hailan to Dongling because Hailan’s first life is deeply connected to Fei Tian.

Wow. It’s so difficult to explain everything. I am so bad at this. I refrained from saying too much because there is only 1 chapter left before we finally face the main story of Shangguan Jinghong and Qiao Chu. Yehey!
