“But, Linlang, after returning to the Heavenly Realm, if I can’t wake up immediately after Qin Ge’s death, I have to entrust you to take the Niguang journal to find Xiushu Buddha. You can only ask him to send Hailan back… Long Feili and my son should not know any of these… Do you understand?”
Soon, Xiao Qi fell into a deep sleep. And just like what her adoptive mother said, Long Feili really found them quickly with a large number of gods and generals.
When he saw Xiao Qi’s state, Long Fei Li coldly said, “If only you were not her adopted daughter, I had already killed you.”
Long Feili soon left with Xiao Qi. She knew that Xiao Qi would be fine, and Long Feili would guard her.
Long Feili did not like her, she knew it. And the feeling is mutual. This former monarch of Xi Liang had destroyed her country, Bi Luo. However, he was the most important person to Xiao Qi and the father of Long Wushang. So, she did not even dare to think more.
She wondered what was so special about this Hailan, a woman from the human realm. What does her going to Dongling have to do with the fate of the three men with the strongest divine power between heaven and earth?
But according to Xiao Qi, this gamble is a matter of life and death. Otherwise, her adoptive mother would not have hidden it from Long Fei Li, not to mention that she would rather risk to suffer the wrath of heaven and leave Long Fei Li forever.
Linlang had nothing to lose. Even Long Wushang is not hers. It seems that all this time, she only has Xiao Qi. And if her mother can suffer the wrath of heaven for Long Feili and Long Wushang, why can’t she do the same for Long Wushang and Xiao Qi? This way, Xiao Qi doesn’t have to leave Long Feili, and Long Wushang and Duan Xiaotong can also do well.
She did not leave with Long Feili, and quietly left the Niguang Journal behind. She waited for her spiritual powers to recover a little. And after learning the news of Qin Ge’s death, she directly went to the mourning hall.
And just now, when she told Hailan a few clues, she then used the remaining spiritual power in her body to activate the Niguang Journal, sending Hailan back to Dongling.
The small book that looked just like an ordinary book that she has been looking at rolled up on the table. This is the Niguang Journal. She stood up swayingly. She wanted to go to Xi Hai, the place where she agreed to meet with Long Wushang and wait there for the wrath of heaven.
The wind rolled the pages of the journal as if it also has a spirit. She looked at the two empty positions at the square table. With light eyes, she smiled at Xiao Qi’s unpredictable gamble with heaven and earth.
These two women who have sat at the eight immortal table does not yet know that the not so distant future, their two different paths actually walked to the same fate.
When Long Wushang ran to Xi Hai to see dying Linlang, he sneered at this madness he has seen through the remnants of time. Laughed at the imperial power struggles that her actions have caused; at the entanglements of love and lust; at Hailan’s intentions to later leave Dongling with its Emperor owning a harem of three thousand. And all the bloodbath in Dongling territories, with ten miles of “red” adornment just to marry princess Hailan.
However, at that time, Hailan had a new name— Qiao Chu.

T/N:
Finally! The last chapter of volume 1. We’re in for a long long ride in the main text.
But damnnn, the last few paragraphs were pure poetry and consumed all of my mental prowess or lack thereof lol. I’m kinda worried there might be mistranslations because xianxia is really my weakness and my head just can’t wrap around high fantasy. I applaud all the xianxia translators out there. Good thing the main text is at least grounded to being historical, albeit having “fantastical” germs too.
FOR SUMMARY, I think the gist of what really happened was like a chain of selfless (and stupid) acts. Although stupid, these decisions of the Nian mother and daughter are what propelled the plot of both Tyrant and Qingcheng,
So Xiao Qi, instead of asking Fei Tian’s subordinate Xiushu to activate the Niguang Journal, she decided that she will do it herself so as not to put anyone else under the wrath of heaven. And here comes Linlang, who was supposed to go to Xiushu Buddha for help in case Xiao Qi has not woken up by the time of Qin Ge’s death, also took it in her hands to sacrifice and risk incurring heaven’s wrath. She was the one who activated the Niguang Journal for Hailan, exhausting all of her powers and choosing to die in Xi Hai.
But Long Wushuang found her. And there comes the intro of what will happen in Dongling, when Hailan became Qiao Chu.
And so again, that, my friends, is the end of Volume 1. I hope I can translate chapter 1 tomorrow. Although if you need any reminding, there is a group of translators who have been way ahead of me in this project and you can go check them out (although I know you know about them since they were the first to translate this)
