Perhaps because she was nervous, Meriel awoke in her own bedroom at the Grand Duke’s palace. According to the darkness outside the window, she had been sleeping all day.

The body and clothes that had become filthy in the forest had been washed.

Meriel yanked on her bed string.

“Your Grace!”

As if Hills had been waiting for her, she opened the door and walked in. The look of concern on her face suggested that something significant had occurred between the day she was kidnapped and now.

“Can you tell me what happened?”

Hills served the hot tea as she put on her gown and sat on her sofa.

Her body slowly calmed down just by the scent of it, as if it were a tea that calmed her mind and body. She jumped out of the wagon and fell off the horse, her entire body screaming in agony.

Fortunately, she did not break anything and had little difficulty moving.

“When Her Grace was kidnapped, His Grace, the Grand Duke, immediately went out to find Her Grace. Only the Head Commander of the Knights remained, and the knights of the Grand Duke’s Palace followed His Grace.” Hills provided narration.

“His Grace left a mark, but it was severed in the woods… They couldn’t find you both for half a day, and an emergency order was nearly issued.”

“Oh my…”

“Not long after that, there was a report from the hut. Someone is in her own home… We ran and found you both, Your Grace.”

“Can the hut’s homeless owner report it?”

“Yes?” Hills tilted her chin.

“Isn’t it the homeless who live in the hut by the river?”

“No, it’s a free people’s home.”

“You speak like Klaus.”

“This is a policy that the Grand Duke established to support workers who have lost their jobs and artists, with a house that can be found anywhere on the Dustin estate.”

“Huh?”

“It’s a fantastic policy. It was able to keep them out of trouble by giving them a house for free. Homeless people on the side of the road pollute the streets and commit crimes, and they’re said to be a major issue in the capital.” Hills spoke as if she was very proud of herself.

Meriel recalled eagerly chastising Klaus in the hut.

‘How humiliating.’

Meriel acts all smart, and it’s embarrassing that she nags at him. She reasoned that she should properly apologize later.

Her hunger hit her as she calmed her down with a hot tea.

“Where has Klaus gone?”

“After healing his wounds, the grand duke is resting in his bedroom.”

Meriel stood up, remembering his droopy right arm.

“Hills, could you make me a simple sandwich?”

“Indeed, Your Grace.”

Hills was an astute maid. She hurriedly left her room after noticing who she was eating the sandwich with.

Meriel went into the bathroom, lightly washed up, and emerged wearing a new gown. On how much they pressed the cook, there was already a tray of sandwiches.

“Hmm.”

Meriel examined herself in the mirror after stretching out her own orange hair. She immediately put on a gown after washing up, exposing her bare skin.

She took up the tray and proceeded to the side door that led to Klaus’ bedroom.

“Hmmmm!” Meriel coughed and clenched her teeth.

“Because I’m hungry, I wanted us to eat together.”

She attempted to practice her words in front of him, but she was awkward.

“You sprained your arm, I’ll feed you.”

Oh no, things are still awkward.

“Just shut up and eat.”

Meriel breathed a sigh.

He had just hurt his arm and was about to feed himself the sandwich.

She wasn’t going to feed him because she was preoccupied with something else.

She rationalized to herself that she was Meriel, his wife, that she was only wearing her robe, that she had just gotten out of the bathroom, and that she wasn’t undressing.

“Come on,” Meriel says, why does she jump at times like this?

She was irritated because her brain was not working.

Across the side door, she felt a pleasant sensation.

“How…?”

Meriel rushed to open the door.
