The training field was in a serious mood as Meriel looked forward to the next day.

“How should I proceed?”

“Did you see the tears……Commander, what did you say?!”

“If the Grand Duchess cried, we should die as compensation!”

“Tears of morning dew from pitiful eyes…”

“I’d rather support the Grand Duchess and be punished, Deacon!”

The knights had forgotten to train and were having a meeting instead.

Some blamed Bran, their commander, while others blamed Deacon, who taught Meriel.

However, neither of them harshly criticized the other. It was because they were both aware of their emotions.

“The Grand Duchess stated that what I said to her was lewd.” Deacon said, his face still flushed.

The knights took a deep breath and recalled what they had heard.

Then all of their faces turn tomato-red.

“When did training become so obscene?”

“Should the phrase be changed?”

“It may be considered disrespectful to the Grand Duchess.”

“I think I’ll keep thinking about it,” Bran said as he clutched his throbbing head.

“So, how do you cheer up the Grand Duchess?”

None of them noticed Meriel had tears in her eyes from laughing so hard. They simply believed they were guilty of avoiding the Grand Duchess.

“Are you sure you’re not going to report to the Grand Duke?”

“He’s very busy.”

“But…”

“Isn’t everyone aware of how much the Grand Duke adores the Grand Duchess?”

The knights all nodded as if they had made a promise in response to Bran’s words. Seriously, if anyone could have touched Meriel’s body, would he have to admit that they had trained not only in the evening but also all day? Of course, so was the first person to touch Meriel. It was the reason Bran avoided Meriel’s hand like it was a bug.

“If the Grand Duke was aware of this…”

The knights all swallowed their saliva. The training field was deafeningly quiet. Someone then raised their hand.

“How about giving a present to the Grand Duchess?”

“A present?”

“I heard that a present that makes you feel good is ideal.”

Bran quietly nodded his head. In retrospect, Eirin appears to have given Klaus similar advice. What about getting her something she likes as a present? Bran rose to his feet.

“Good. Then I’ll find out what the Grand Duchess actually likes, so everyone can relax.”

Everyone bowed their heads and placed their hands on their chests. They appear to be prepared for the battle against the monsters.

The following afternoon was training time. While training, Bran and the knights glanced at the entrance to the training field.

They appeared tense as they examined the gifts they had placed in their uniforms.

“She’s on her way!”

The knight, who had been watching in advance, dashed to the training field and yelled. Knights solidifying themselves lifted a sword from the ground and erected it on their chest.

“What? What are you all up to?” Meriel tilted her head as she noticed the knights all standing in unison.

She was dressed comfortably in trousers and a shirt, with her hair tied back, but she was still stunning.

Her white skin, luscious orange hair, and pure amber eyes made it easy to believe she was the saint’s reincarnation. Men’s protective instincts were heightened by her small stature. Of course, it was an impression that those unfamiliar with her could easily misinterpret.

Unfortunately, the knights had no idea what Meriel was thinking. Furthermore, Bran, whom she talked to several times, didn’t know much about Meriel either.

“Well…..Gentlemen?”

The knights took the object they had prepared when Meriel waved awkwardly. They approached Meriel in a line, each holding the object they had checked several times in one hand.

Meriel, who had flinched at the sight of the knights marching with the sword in front of them, looked around in bewilderment.

“Commander?”

She summoned Bran, but he was already at the front of the procession. They formed a line and circled the training field, gradually approaching Meriel.

“We prepared a gift to express our sincere apologies to the Grand Duchess!”

The knights all knelt on one knee at the sound of Bran’s cry. With one hand, they held the sword, and with the other, they held out the prepared gift. Meriel moved her gaze slowly, looking at them in a systematic manner.

“Your Grace, please accept our apologies!”

Someone mentioned that the procession of the Knights Templar would be difficult to see. The Knights Templar procession is only shown on special occasions.

She had no idea what day it was. Meriel thought something was wrong when she saw the Knights holding a fancy sword in one hand and a colored lollipop in the other.

“What exactly is going on?”

Meriel considered how she should apologize to the knights before heading to the training field. The training field she saw today, however, was not typical.

They all offered lollipops and apologized to her while dressed in knight uniforms and putting on a fantastic procession.

‘ Have they all gone insane? Have they ever been attacked by an invisible demon?’

Meriel gave them a worried look.

“Please accept our apologies for our rudeness yesterday.”

“What? What do you mean by rudeness?” she inquired, perplexed.

“We sincerely regret causing the Grand Duchess to cry.”

“No, that’s……” Meriel clenched her teeth.

They put on a fantastic procession and even held lollipops to apologize to her on their own.

She couldn’t tell these people she was crying from laughter. Meriel had the impression that the knights who filled the training field genuinely felt sorry for her and bowed their heads.

Her heart grew heavier when she discovered their sincerity. Meriel accepted Bran’s candy with a shy smile.

“I’ve forgotten everything,” she stated solemnly.

Bran got to his feet and stood up. The knights who came after, on the other hand, were uninspired. Meriel smiled up at Deacon, who stood behind Bran. He quickly closed his eyes and held out the candy when their gazes met. X♥X
