She shouldn’t be blamed for it. It was him who cast a shadow over her that night.

Bai Weijin held Gu Yeze’s arm, “Well, don’t be angry.”

Gu Yeze almost wanted to kill this woman. So many women wanted to get close to him in H City, but she dared to evade him.

Bai Weijin ignored Gu Yeze who wanted to beat her, and she thought to herself, “The arms are strong. It seems that he spends a lot of energy on fitness. Is it the legend that when he puts on the clothes, he looks slim; but when he takes off the clothes, he looks strong?”

When they arrived at the door with different ideas, the housekeeper already waited there.

“Master and Miss Bai, here you are.” The housekeeper was a good-natured woman in her forties.

“She is waiting for you inside. Just go inside.”

On the sofa in the living room sat an old woman and she stood up when hearing the sound of the door. Bai Weijin looked at the old woman.

The old woman who was the shareholder of Gu Group and grandma of Gu Yeze was already in her sixties, but she looked younger and seemed to be in her forties or fifties. The smile on her face was amiable. She seemed to be sitting on the sofa watching TV, with a pair of reading glasses on the bridge of her nose.

“Grandma.” Gu Yeze went to take the old woman’s hand. He seemed to have a close relationship with the old woman.

Grandma of Gu Family chuckled, patted Gu Yeze’s shoulders and murmurred complainingly, “You are so heartless that you come home so late to see me at this time.”

“I’m coming to see you right after work and I don’t even have a chance to take a short break.” Gu Yeze easily pleased the old woman and even Aunt Wu aside couldn’t help smiling.

“Grandma, I’d like you to meet someone. This is Bai Weijin.” Instantly, Gu Yeze leaned aside slightly and introduced Bai Weijin to his grandma.

The old woman’s smile paused, “Oh?” She slowly took off her reading glasses.

Bai Weijin took two steps forward to greet Grandma of Gu Family with a smile, “Nice to meet you, grandma.”

Grandma of Gu Family nodded, “Are you a friend of Xiaoze?”

Bai Weijin did not answer directly. Gu Yeze spoke for her, “Grandma, this is the granddaughter-in-law I selected for you. I bring her to meet you today.”

Grandma of Gu Family did not look surprised when she heard what Gu Yeze said. Bai Weijin secretly looked the old woman up and down. She didn’t look dim-sighted from old age when she took off the reading glasses, and her eyes were full of wisdom that had been accumulated with time. You could see that she was also a very beautiful woman when she was young.

After a moment, Bai Weijin handed out the gift carried in hand, “Grandma, here’s a little gift for you. Please accept it.”

Grandma of Gu Family did not reach out to take it, but motioned Aunt Wu to take it with a smile.

After Aunt Wu took the gift, Bai Weijin didn’t say more and she quietly retreated to GuYeze’s side, so that Gu Yeze could have enough time to talk to his grandma, whom he hadn’t seen for a long time.

Grandma of Gu Family kept watching Bai Weijin out of the corner of her eye. There was some appreciation in her eyes when she found that Bai Weijin looked neither servile nor pushy.

She was considerate and polite, and she didn’t deliberately apple-polish anyone. She was smart and she knew her place.

“Let’s have dinner first. Master and Miss Bai must be hungry.” Aunt Wu couldn’t help interrupting them with a smile when she saw Grandma of Gu Family kept talking with Gu Yeze.

“Okay, okay. I am old and too wordy.”

Grandma of Gu Family pulled Gu Yeze to the table and Aunt Wu went to Bai Weijin, “Miss Bai, come to dinner please”.

Bai Weijin nodded to Aunt Wu and then followed up.

She took a seat beside Gu Yeze. Before she could sit down, Grandma of Gu Family suddenly turned to her, “You are the first daughter of Bai Group, aren’t you?”

Bai Weijin replied, “Yes, grandma.”
