Bai Weijin swallowed her saliva hard. What a scary man he was! But she would never give in, “Well, the sooner the better. In this way, we can grab the limelight of Bai Yinya’s engagement ceremony.”

Seeing the woman give herself an excuse Gu Yeze suddenly found it amusing.

He was a man of moods and was always good at hiding his emotions, but the woman actually amused him several times within one day.

While they were talking, the car drove near a house. Gu Yeze parked the car by the side of the road, “Here you are. Tomorrow I’ll pick you up to see Grandma.”

Bai Weijin nodded, got out of the car and walked home.

The home was definitely not Bai’s house but a small villa she temporarily rented elsewhere. Despite the fact that Bai Hongbo had been heavily biased these years and that she took no penny away from Bai family, she had substantial savings of her own.

Bai Weijin went into the room and picked up a photo of her and her mother.

The woman in the photo was still as genial and virtuous as she could remember. Bai Weijin touched the picture gently.

“Mom, I’ll be engaged to Gu Yeze very soon. I had no idea whether I made the right decision by betting my lifelong happiness on it, but only in this way can I win back all that belongs to us.” Bai Weijin’s voice sounded low but fairly firm.

It was quite odd for her to develop a character which bore no resemblance to that of her parents, especially her mother. She had inherited none of her mother’s tender and mild disposition.

Bai Weijin had no intention of scrambling at all, but it didn’t mean that she would give up her right to fight. How dared Bai Yinya and her mother poke their noses into her mother’s stuff? It was tantamount to an utmost offense to her.

Then they had to get ready, for in the following days, they would have a rough time.

Bai Weijin got into Gu Yeze’s car. This time, he was sitting well within reach of Bai Weijin.

His driver started the car and drove towards Gu’s house.

Bai Weijin didn’t intend to ask Gu Yeze what kind of person his grandmother was. Anyway, the old woman would not be easy to handle. What she could do was nothing but playing it by ear..

Gu Yeze seemed to have something urgent to deal with. With a laptop on his thigh, he kept clicking and typing all the time.

Since he remained silent, Bai Weijin naturally had no intention of starting a conversation. Nothing happened all along the way.

The car drove near the gate of Gu’s house.

Bai Weijin looked out of the window and couldn’t help twitching her lips. Gu’s house indeed enjoyed no empty reputation, featuring impressive magnificence and grandeur.

In front of the gate stood a large fountain statue, and a row of luxury cars parked next to it. The villa behind was elaborately decorated. Everything here revealed the extraordinary prominence of its owner.

The whole family was, sure enough, a group of blood-sucking capitalists. Bai Weijin couldn’t help complaining in a whisper.

“What did you say?” Gu Yeze’s voice suddenly came from her side.

Bai Weijin was taken aback, “Nothing. I’m talking to myself.”

Gu Yeze made no further enquiries and turned off the laptop. The car stopped at a parking space. “Here we are.” The driver pulled open the door for Gu Yeze, and he got out first.

Bai Weijin didn’t get off from Gu Yeze’s side but opened the door herself. She was not so delicate as other ladies.

Gu Yeze gave her a glance and held her hand.

Just as Gu Yeze touched her fingers, Bai Weijin withdrew her hand abruptly, “What are you doing?”

Greatly angered, Gu Yeze almost crushed his mobile phone in the other hand. The woman was totally not worth treating nicely! What did she mean? Was he a ferocious beast?

Gu Yeze gritted his teeth, “What is our relationship now?”

Well… It was not until then that Bai Weijin remembered they were gonna get engaged. So feigned affection was needed.
