Chapter 164

A bit muddled, Bai Weijin opened her eyes, looking around the room. Gu Yeze sitting by her bed met her eyes.

He eyed her speculatively. Bai Weijin couldn’t help but give a shudder.

“You’re pregnant.” Gu Yeze opened his mouth while she was in a numbed daze.

With an astonished look on her face, Bai Weijin turned away to look at Gu Yeze.

The sight of her astonishment made Gu Yeze lost in thought.

Soon after, Bai Weijin wore a gentle smile on her face. She caressed her belly. The very thought was marvelous that there was a baby in her womb.

The change in her expression made Gu Yeze’s face fall. “You’re to have an abortion.”

Bai Weijin’s countenance immediately changed. She raised her head, fixing him with a cold stare, “What if I won’t?”

She was negotiating with him.

Gu Yeze tapped his fingers on the chair, answering, “Then I’ll divorce you, and you’ll be kicked out of Gu family.”

He was extremely cool towards her, as if speaking to a total stranger.

Bai Weijin could imagine what it was like if she was driven out of the family. But for the baby’s sake, she could bear it all. She just had no idea why Gu Yeze didn’t want the child.

“Can you tell me why you don’t want it? Because I’m unworthy of being your child’s mother?” Bai Weijin asked with a sneer.

If it were the case, Bai Weijin couldn’t imagine how bad his impression of her was.

“No, because it’s not my child, but Chu Jiran’s. I have no duty to raise other person’s child.” Gu Yeze answered in an icy tone.

‘It turns out that he doubts me.’

Bai Weijin understood him having such suspicion, for nobody but she knew exactly what had happened that day.

“Can you believe me? It’s not his child.” Bai Weijin stared at him unblinkingly and said.

Yet what she said was a mere joke in Gu Yeze’s eyes. He sneered, “How can you make me a fool? Do you have any proof that the child is not his?”

Bai Weijin gripped her quilt tightly, replying, “We were not in bed.”

Gu Yeze just felt it funny.

He did not believe a word she said. Also, he couldn’t stand bringing up a child who had no relation with him.

“Sorry, I cannot trust you.” replied Gu Yeze frigidly.

Having said that, he sat back into his chair, tipping his private doctors the wink.

Shrewd, the doctors saw at a glance what he meant and began to prepare the stuff.

It dawned on Bai Weijin that they were gonna perform an abortion on her.

“Help! Help!” Bai Weijin yelled at the attending doctor.

She had given up all hope that the coldhearted man would change his mind.

The doctor was the only one she could turn to.

However, her begging didn’t work. The doctors just looked on in silence.

Bai Weijin was aware that she could rely on nobody but herself. If she refused to cooperate, then no one would force her to.

“Get out of my way,” She stood up, drew the curtain and nipped outward.

Before she walked for meters, a few bodyguards stopped her.

“Hold her.” Her resistance annoyed Gu Yeze.

Bai Weijin was pinned down on the bed, yet she was struggling all the way.

The attending doctor cast a glance at Gu Yeze.

Gu Yeze sensed he had something to say, speaking, “Tell me.”

“Because she doesn’t cooperate, the cooperation may not go smoothly, and there’s a risk that your wife may die.”

On hearing this, Gu Yeze blurted out, “Use anesthetics”.

The attending doctor shook his head, “I’m afraid it will hurt her, for she’s been floundering.”

Gu Yeze looked down at Bai Weijin, and an agitation ran through him.

“Let her go,” said he impatiently.

Bai Weijin thought he came around. She rose to her feet. Just as she was about to have a talk with him, Gu Yeze opened his mouth.

“Take her to the car. I’ll wait for you there.” He stood up and walked out without looking back.

Staring at his receding figure, Bai Weijin would like to say something, but the bodyguards held her and took her to the garage.

Bai Weijin didn’t think they would do anything good to her.

The bodyguards placed her next to Gu Yeze and closed the door.

“Go to the street.” Gu Yeze gave the order after casting her a glance.

After saying this, he started to browse through a book in a graceful manner, totally different from how he behaved before.

Bai Weijin was unable to repress her urge to ask, “Where are we going? I need to know.”

Gu Yeze continued thumbing through the book, his eyes fixed on the page, replying, “You don’t need to.”

Bai Weijin had no choice but sit there.

Soon they arrived at the street.

The car was a limited edition, so numerous people who passed by watched them with envy.

“Stop,” Gu Yeze closed the book.

The driver dared to say anything but followed his order.

“Will you abort it?” Gu Yeze fixed her with a glare.

Bai Weijin naturally shook her head.

Gu Yeze’s face darkened, “Take her out”.

The bodyguards immediately opened the door and carried Bai Weijin off the car.

Without sparing her any glance, Gu Yeze motioned for the driver to go on.

Despite his fear, the driver plucked up enough courage to stop him, “Mr. Gu…”

Before he finished, Gu Yeze scolded him in a stern voice, “Do you want to be fired?”

The driver had no alternative but to drive away, leaving Bai Weijin alone.
