Bai Weijin didn’t expect Gu Yeze to go too far. She thought he was just threatening her.

She gave a sneer and sat there, listening to others gossip about her.

“Your voice can’t be louder.” Bai Weijin muttered with a forced smile.

It was a scorching hot summer day. The sun beat down on the pregnant woman so that she couldn’t stand the heat.

Bai Weijin felt an ache in her head and fainted.

Gu Yeze sat in the car, kind of worried about Bai Weijin. Yet his worry disappeared at the very thought that she got pregnant by another man.

He picked up his phone and dialed Chu Jiran’s number. Soon he got through.

“Bai Weijin is pregnant. She’s unwilling to abort your child.” Gu Yeze’s voice was as cold as ice.

His words left Chu Jiran stupefied. He asked nervously, “Where’s she?”

“I dropped her in the street.” Gu Yeze gave an address.

Upon learning the address, Chu Jiran hung up and rushed to the street.

Bai Weijin found her in a both familiar and alien environment when she woke up.

“Where am I?” She muttered under her breath. Her head was still painful.

Chu Jiran heard her question and answered, “In my house.”

Bai Weijin turned away, only to see Chu Jiran was there.

It was because of him that Gu Yeze drove her out.

“It’s time to take your medicine. Any help from me?” Chu Jiran asked in a soft voice.

Bai Weijin sat up, shaking her head. Then she took the medicine and drank it in one gulp.

The medicine tasted bitter, yet Bai Weijin was too grieved to notice that.

She put the bowl aside, saying, “Thank you. I troubled you again.”

‘But for Chu Jiran, I might have died then.’ Bai Weijin didn’t think Gu Yeze would have come back to collect her, for he was by nature a detached person.

Chu Jiran fixed his eyes on her stomach, and a smile lifted the corners of his mouth.

When she noticed his stare, Bai Weijin’s heart started thumping.

“Don’t thank me. It’s also my baby, and I have a duty to both of you.” Chu Jiran was in deadly earnest.

Bai Weijin sighed, for the child was not his.

“Who told you that?” She asked.

Met with no denial, Chu Jiran was in a transport of delight, “It’s Yeze. He called me and said you were pregnant by me. He also informed me of your location.”

A sadness came over Bai Weijin when she heard the name.

Seeing the disappointed look on Bai Weijin’s face, Chu Jiran thought she was worried that he would not take responsibility.

He touched her hair, saying, “Don’t worry. Stay here, and I’ll take care of you and our child.”

Chu Jiran was indeed a responsible man. Bai Weijin was reluctant to tell him the truth and spoil his happiness.

“You don’t have to. And, I don’t want to stay at home.” She replied.

Completely disappointed with Gu family, Bai Weijin now had no interest in living in the country. Originally, she believed in Gu Yeze’s love for her, yet what he did shattered her hopes bit by bit.

‘He has no trust in me at all. The child is clearly not Chu Jiran’s, but he insists it is his. How unfair to me!

Chu Jiran felt sorry for her, “You want to leave. There must be a reason behind, isn’t it?”

Course there was. Chu Jiran understood how she felt. In contrast, Gu Yeze was totally indifferent in her affair.

Bai Weijin made no reply. Chu Jiran knew he guessed rightly, and that it must have something to do with Gu family.

“So what’s your plan? Tell me about it, and I’ll back you up as much as I can.” Chu Jiran regarded her intently.

Bai Weijin looked up at him, saying, “I want you to help me get a divorce before sending me abroad.”

She had made up her mind, and Chu Jiran agreed.

“The higher expectation one holds, the more disappointed he will be. That’s why I need to tell you now, the child isn’t yours.” Bai Weijin said directly.

Chu Jiran was inevitably upset by the news, yet he felt it better that Bai Weijin didn’t lie to him to gain his sympathy.

“The reason I want you to help me with the divorce is because Gu Yeze firmly believes it’s your child. So, with your presence, the divorce may become less difficult.” Bai Weijin was familiar with the Gu’s.

Chu Jiran nodded. He supported her unconditionally.

“As to sending me abroad, it’s because I’m strapped for cash. But you can rest assured that I’ll pay you back later.” Bai Weijin looked up at him, determined and confident.

She didn’t feel like owing anyone.

Chu Jiran didn’t agree. He was lacking in nothing. What’s more, he was only too glad to do anything for her.

“You don’t have to pay me back. I’ll send you abroad, and help you to get a divorce. If you need any help, I’m always there.” Chu Jiran wore a serious look.

Bai Weijin was deeply moved. Nevertheless, she would repay him the money one day, though she decided not to negotiate with him for now.

“Thank you.” Bai Wei dropped her head, whispering.

She never expected that Chu Jiran was willing to give her a hand at the moment.

She would cherish the memory forever. Though she couldn’t fall in love with him, Bai Weijin hoped from the bottom of her heart that one day he could find his true love.
