Chapter 179

Chu Jiran finally ran out of patience with Gu Yeze’s endless charges. He yelled out.

“Who the hell do you think is to blame?”

“It’s you, a jackass, told me to make a decision within three days! Today is the last day!”

For a while, Gu Yeze was left speechless, not knowing how to retort him. After all, he did make the utterance.

The two fixed each other with hard stares, and neither of them would like to drop his gaze. There was an intense atmosphere outside the operating room.

“How about we drop mutual allegations and wait for the operation to be finished.”

After a while, Gu Yeze’s dry sound of voice broke the silence. Chu Jiran gave a slight nod. The two sat down without a word.

In Gu’s House…

Grandma Gu sat there with a glum look on her face. Gu Tianyi smiled apologetically at Tan Xin and Ji Yun, saying in a placating manner, “Dear ladies, I sincerely hope you’ll excuse Yeze.”

“There has been something wrong in the company, and he rushed to deal with it. Next time, next time when you are free, I’ll definitely ask him to make amends to both of you!”

Gu Yeze left in a hurry, leaving Tan Xin and Ji Yun alone, immediately after a phone call from the hospital.

“Never mind,” Ji Yun replied thoughtfully, “It’s totally understandable. My father often stands me up for work’s sake.”

“It doesn’t matter,” Tan Xin said, echoing her words.

On hearing what they said, Grandma Gu’s anger lifted a little. ‘I’m being too generous!’

Given that Gu Yeze wasn’t here, the two ladies lost the interest to stay. Soon, they said goodbye and left.

They walked out of the estate. With no intention of having any talk with Ji Yun, Tan Xin just strode ahead.

“Miss Tan, please wait a minute,” Ji Yun opened her mouth.

Tan Xin deliberately pronounced “Miss Ji” clearly and loudly, as if to remind Ji Yun she hadn’t married to Gu Yeze yet.

Her silvery laugh reverberated in the air, making Tan Xin’s flesh creep.

“What are you laughing at?” She asked on alert.

“Nothing,” Ji Yun continued after a pause, “I just feel you love Mr. Gu deeply.”

Tan Xin blinked, but gave no reply.

‘Nobody in H city isn’t aware of my liking for Gu Yeze. What has she got up her sleeve?”

Ji Yun gave an appreciative laugher. She seemed to like Tan Xin very much.

“Smart girl. Would you like cooperate with me?”

“How?” What Ji Yun said aroused Tan Xin’s curiosity. ‘The woman who I’ve been considering to fix actually want to cooperate with me?’

Despite that, she was astute enough to realize that there’s no need for confrontation when cooperation was possible.

“What I want is only too simple: to gobble Gu’s business up,” A gleam of excitement lit up Ji Yun’s eyes. “And you just care about Gu Yeze. There seem to be no conflict of interests between us.”

“Help me with the merger, and I leave Gu Yeze in your hands. How about that?”

Tan Xin almost burst into laughter. She fixed Ji Yun with a mocking look. ‘How can she have such a stupid idea?’

“Come on, use your brain. I love him, and I won’t do any damage to his family!”

Ji Yun was impervious to her sarcastic tone. “Course you won’t, under regular circumstances.”

“But have you ever thought nothing is gonna change even if you marry into Gu family? He doesn’t love you and won’t change his mind for years to come.”

“Don’t be silly. We both know that it’s our family background that have tickled their fancy!”

She said nothing wrong, but Tan Xin was upset a lot. She cried out, “Yes, I know it! But wo what?”

“At least I have him! And one day he may take a liking to me.”

“Ha-Ha-Ha,” Ji Yun laughed so much that she nearly cried. Tan Xin’s face altogether fell.

“I’ve thought ladies like you, born of high class, should lose all traces of naivety, while you’re different, Miss Tan.”

“The moment your family is of no use, I’m afraid Gu Yeze will immediately abandon you.”

“Don’t you want to have him forever?”

‘Course I do.’ Her eyes turning bright red, Tan Xin seemed to be going crazy.

“Then what I’m gonna do?” She asked aloud.

Tan Xin was clear that she lost the game to Ji Yun, but she didn’t care about it. She was willing to make any sacrifice in order to get steady with Gu Yeze.

Now that Tan Xin voluntarily fell into her trap, a smile spread across Ji Yun’s face. ‘Yes, that’s the look I want.’

‘Then you can be at my beck and call.’

“How about making Gu Yeze fall from the great height?” Ji Yun tried to lure her, “He’ll be as meek as a lamb if losing the support of Gu family.”

“It’s hard to beat off the clan. But dealing with a lamb? Can’t be easier!”

“Join up with me, and I’ll send him as a gift to you when I destroy his family business after the marriage.”

“Don’t worry… I don’t have any thing for him…”

What Ji Yun said was like an utter magical spell that could send Tan Xin into an abyss.

Ji Yun was quite satisfied with her answer. After all, she made a step forward by finding a helper.
