Bai Yinya wanted to sound out Zhao Lei, “You know, I’ve been on bad terms with my sister. She hated my mom for taking her mother’s place and has been hard on me all the while.”

In a good mood, Zhao Lei didn’t see the possibility that such a meek woman would malign and do harm to her sister.

“Fancy that Mr. Gu married a petty woman! What if she inflicts damage on us?”

Bai Yinya was glad to see Zhao Lei on her side. She continued, “Her pillow talk may set Gu Yeze against us, and as a result, he’s likely to tackle us.”

Zhao Lei was stupefied. He had no intention of making an enemy of Gu Yeze, for no one ever escaped unhurt in a battle with Gu Yeze.

Bai Yinya despised the coward, while she showed a sign of weakness on the surface, “You’ll support me, won’t you?”

Zhao Lei found it hard to turn her down. Gritting his teeth, he answered with a yes.

…

Bai Weijin wasn’t astounded at all by the revival of Bai’s Group.

Fool as she was, Bai Yinya proved expert at dealing with men who liked her. She managed to coax large funds out of Zhao Lei in aid of Bai family.

Gu Yeze would like to deal a shattering blow to Bai family and Zhao family alike, while Bai Weijin disagreed on it.

She felt like settling all the scores with Bai Yinya slowly and thoroughly.

After a quarrel, Gu Yeze went back to his office unhappily, leaving a photo taken by his private detective.

Zhao Lei was pictured with Bai Yinya when they hugged each other entering a hotel.

Bai Weijin tapped her fingers on the desk, lost in thought. The door was suddenly pushed open, and Gu Yeyu suddenly appeared, “What are you doing, Weijin?”

Bai Weijin motioned for her to come in.

The document she once saw on Bai Weijin’s desk flashed through Gu Yeyu’s mind. She asked vigilantly before craning her head over the stuff, “What’s this?”

There was nothing to hide. Bai Weijin handed the photo to Gu Yeyu.

Gu Yeyu shot a quick glance and immediately pursed her mouth, “I’ve thought this must be something important. It’s Zhao Lei, isn’t he?”

Bai Weijin was taken aback, “You know him?”

“Definitely not. Just an old admirer,” added Gu Yeyu. Bai Weijin could tell from her expression that the experience couldn’t have been a happy one.

“Humph, who is he to be my husband? Luckily, Jiran helped kick away the affected man.”

Gu Yeyu’s eyes lit up when she talked of Chu Jiran.

Bai Weijin didn’t notice the change of the girl’s countenance. Her mind was on those photos.

“Why did you gather information about him? Don’t you…?”

Bai Weijin tapped the photo on Gu Yeyu’s forehead, “What are you talking about?”

Gu Yeyu let out a cry and covered her forehead with one hand.

“The woman is my sister.”

Gu Yeyu picked up the photo and scrutinized it, to discover that the woman in the picture bore a resemblance to Bai Weijin, though lacking the air of quiet dignity the latter had.

She knew that Bai Weijin had a sister, but also heard from Luo Nan about the girl’s appalling “records”. The person Bai Weijin hated must be a bad one, she supposed.

“Then why did you take the photo of her?”

“Nothing but to pay her back for what she did to me.” Bai Weijin’s voice was as cold as ice.

“It’s a piece of cake! Zhao Lei will immediately dump Bai Yinya as long as I ask for him.”

Bai Weijin frowned when the way Zhao Lei behaved yesterday sprang to mind. She shook her head in disapproval, “It’s not worth coming into contact with such an awful nuisance. What’s more, your brother won’t agree.”

Gu Yeyu was moved by her obvious concern, “I’ll be more careful about what I say and do. Besides, he’s of some other use to me.”

Gu Yeyu’s brain was working.

Noting that she was mysterious about her plans, Bai Weijin replied in a firm tone, “Zhao Lei isn’t a man of integrity. You cannot be too careful when dealing with him, and remember to avoid private meeting.”

Gu Yeyu agreed.

Bai Weijin mulled it over and decided to discuss the matter with Gu Yeze tonight. Also, it was necessary to send a few bodyguards to protect Gu Yeyu.

…

“Weijin,” Gu Yeyu who dressed smartly ran into the office of Bai Weijin in the afternoon.

Bai Weijin was surprised, “Are you getting out?”

Gu Yeyu replied proudly, “Word came from my brother that Zhao Lei is in Jinya Mall together with Bai Yinya.”

Bai Weijin sat still. Gu Yeyu came up and dragged her outwards, “Be quick, Weijin! It’s time to carry out our plan.”

‘What a timely act Gu Yeze has made.’ Bai Weijin stood up unhurried.

‘Bai Yinya, I’ll get you back for what you’ve done, just wait.’

Bai Weijin assigned some tasks to Zhang Lanxin and went out with Gu Yeyu.

“Since she came back, Gu Yeyu has always been pestering Sister Bai. Now they’re even getting out without taking me,” muttered Zhang Lanxin under her breath.

No sooner had the two stepped out of the office than they came across Gu Yeze.

Gu Yeyu hadn’t informed her brother of Bai Weijin’s involvement, so she whispered in his ear, “I take Weijin to keep me company, and we’ll be back soon.”

Meanwhile, she couldn’t help complaining quietly.

‘How biased my brother is! I’m helping Weijin deal with her nasty sister, while he only told me not to drive her into trouble.”

Gu Yeze gave Gu Yeyu a suspicious glance, “I drive you there.”

Bai Weijin was glad to have him as their driver.

Talking and laughing, they arrived at the shopping mall. Before they got out of the car, Gu Yeze told them to come back early, while Gu Yeyu put all this behind her soon.

She almost forgot the reason why they came and went on a shopping spree with Bai Weijin.

Bai Weijin followed her while looking around.

As expected, she saw Bai Yinya and Zhao Lei in a jewelry shop.

Gu Yeyu happily paid by her card when Bai Weijin patted her on the shoulder and gestured in a direction.

She looked over there and rolled her eyes, “Zhao Lei is revolting as usual.”

“Let’s move closer,” said Bai Weijin.

Gu Yeyu’s enthusiasm for shopping wore off. She instructed the shop assistants to send her stuff to Gu’s Group. Thinking of her possible identity, those staffers dared not neglect her and did as they were told.
