She also recognized Zhao Lei. Zhao family and Bai family had previously cooperated in some business when Bai Weijin worked in Bai’s Group.

Bai Weijin poked Gu Yeze in the arm, teasing, “Now you have one more brother-in-law.”

Zhao Lei pulled Bai Yinya towards the two persons and greeted them, “Mr. Gu, it’s an honor to see you here. I’m Zhao Lei, the general manager of Zhao’s Group.”

Gu Yeze scarcely spared him a glance. Zhao Lei felt embarrassed and withdrew his hand.

The sight of Zhao Lei fawning on Gu Yeze greatly vexed Bai Yinya.

Meanwhile, she was unsure whether Gu Yeze learned she had plotted against Bai Weijin at the banquet, though Yan Sheng was scapegoated finally.

That was why she looked at Gu Yeze in fear now.

“What a coincidence to meet you here, my new brother-in-law.” Bai Weijin was speaking to Zhao Lei, while her eyes were fixed on Bai Yinya.

Her tone was dripping with sarcasm, hinting at Bai Yinya taking up with a new boyfriend immediately after her divorce. Annoyed, Bai Yinya snapped, “Bai Weijin, don’t talk to me like that!”

“Do you have a problem with that?” The two retorted at the same time.

Gu Yeze darted Bai Yinya a cold stare, as though he was giving her a good thrashing once she continued. Bai Weijin also wore a contemptuous look on her face.

“There must have been some understanding. Take it easy.” Zhao Lei perceived the tense atmosphere among them and immediately acted as a peacemaker.

Those three all glowered at him.

Bai Weijin thought Bai Yinya had found a bigshot to rely upon. The man, however, turned out to be a sheer lackey who was even not as good as Yan Sheng.

“Once and for all, you cannot afford to scheme against my wife, or you’ll have to pay the price.” Gu Yeze didn’t want them to spoil their day, so he gave a word of warning and pulled Bai Weijin into the restaurant.

Zhao Lei was totally confused. It dawned on Bai Yinya that Gu Yeze had already known about her dirty trick that day.

“Yinya, what did Mr. Gu mean? What happened between both of you?”

Bai Yinya was stuck for words. She forced a smile in a while, replying, “Nothing but a slight misunderstanding that will be soon cleared up.”

“It’s supposed to be cleared up,” added Zhao Lei hurriedly. He wanted to claim ties of kinship with Gu Yeze, which he even dared not imagine before.

The bar was crowded when they got there. As Zhao Lei’s girlfriend, Bai Yinya received a lot of attention. The young playboys whistled at and flattered her.

It was a long time since Bai Yinya enjoyed being the center of attention.

The delight even dispelled her uneasiness about Gu Yeze’s words. Bai Yinya took to the floor, dancing with others.

Her head started to spin. Men around her kept winking at Zhao Lei.

Zhao Lei elbowed his way through the crowd and embraced Bai Yinya, “What’s wrong with you, Yinya?”
